  1. A big ole Thumbs Up on the Ruger AR-556. Have 2 and both plenty accurate out-of-the-box and eat both good and cheap ammo like it is going out of style!!!
  2. Anyone have a used CVA Hawken barrel that you don’t need?
  3. Has anyone attended any of the “July Atlanta Antique Gun & Military Collector Shows” in Marietta, GA? If so, was the trip worth it? Your feedback would be much appreciated!!!
  4. Quite fond of all my handguns, but especially so with the Ruger ‘thumb-cockers”. Just love the 4 clicks when cocking the non-safety-converted Old Model wheel guns. My favorite caliber is the .30 Carbine. What a blast (pun intended) to shoot !!!
  5. I pray for God to give you & your family Peace, Comfort & Strength as you plan and handle her memorial services. May her memory burn brightly within your heart!!
  6. Love it, love it !!!!!!!!
  7. Welcome Tom. It”s a good forum with great folks!!
  8. A couple of weekends ago ...... My precious grandchildren (8 and 10) with their joint birthday presents from “Pa” ...... their own Daisy’s.
  9. Well GeeWhiz!!!! To each his own. For those who want new for less, great ..... you can go buy one at the going rate. For those who want a piece of military history, great ..... you can buy an old one at the going rate. The beautiful thing is ...... we have the freedom of choice. As for me, long live the CMP!!!
  10. Sorry to hear of this. I really like the Ruger SR556 .... quite heavy but a darn good shooter!
  11. For whatever reason, all shows in Lebanon have steadily declined in both vendor participation and attendance. The most recent shows have been downright pitiful. Only reason I attend is to buy/sell/trade with other individuals. Otherwise, might as well throw the entry fee cash in a trash can. IMHO, the ‘Boro show is the only decent show in the mid-state area. If you go, and if you need ammo, check out the folks from North Georgia Reloading. I have no connection with them other than buying 223/556/9mm/45acp/30carbine from them over the past 3 or 4 years. Excellent target ammo and economically bulk priced. Probably shot 5,000+ various rounds with a FTF rate of maybe 1 or 2 in 1,000. Happy Shooting & Collecting!!
  12. “Ping-ed” the ole M-1 last week. Love the sound and feel of that old girl (named “Emmie” of course)
  13. Question......I have been on the Gallatin Gun Club membership waiting list for years, slowly working my way up to the top, but never got there. Under the new name of MTSA, are its directors the same good folks, or is this an entirely new venture?
