They sell moisture kits to check for this. A small test that I use before I stain a concrete floor in a basement. Take a piece of clear plastic about 2ft square then tape it down with duct tape all around. Let it sit a day or two and see if any moisture has collected on the underside. Oh i like the gun range Idea myself.
