  1. Umm, yes. Even though there is no governing power that is head of a centralized Baptist church, the origins can be traced back to John Smyth, who split from the Anglican Church, who split from the obvious. I am not gonna discuss this with you any longer because it is pointless to argue with someone who has it all figured out with no basis in actual history. "The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge." Nothing personal, but let's get back to the topic at hand. Otherwise, we can continue discussing it in private messages or a new topic. :) ---- Back on topic.. It's amazing the climate of discussion when going news channel to channel and the variety of gun misnomers. I haven't heard anything from Feinstein yet but I can't wait... I was hearing that they found social media correspondence with people on the terror watch list.
  2. True. I've made my last post about it.
  3. Baptists split from a church that split from the Catholic Church.. Still seems Protestant to me.
  4. Really? Interesting, so the Old Testament has nothing to do with Christianity. That makes no sense.
  5. I am familiar with the 21 Ecumenical Councils as well as the councils disputed, but how does this prove the Catholic Church was not the first.. I'd like to see some evidence from these Catholic resources that support your claim. Also, why is "workplace violence" still on the table as a possibility for the attack? Why are we so damned PC?
  6. I'd say I know the history pretty well, I also know how much that history has been contorted and twisted to suit the many different Protestant flavors. It's fairly popular for Protestants to try and school Catholics on their own belief, and usually it's a pointless effort to argue it. A family member of mine has worked at the Vatican as a Canon lawyer for years, and through his stories and my own learned by getting spanked with the Bible Belt, I think I've almost heard it all.
  7. Well, it may not have been called Catholic in the beginning, they were simply "disciples," the term was in widespread use by 107 A.D.
  8. I can pick up several different versions of the bible to find different translations that have changed over time. Also, there are plenty of Quran verses that preach love and peace as well as Bible verses that condone violence. Just open up the good book to Deuteronomy.
  9. This whole thread is starting to go off the deep end, and before it does I'd like to say that Catholicism had its corruption, but you are a total fool if you don't think that every sect of Christianity has not had its share of leaders that were corrupted by the idea of power over masses. That being said, I refuse to subscribe to the idea that all Muslims are evil. The Old Testament has some raunchy stuff that can rival anything in the Quran. I guarantee a lot of you folks have tattoos, had premarital sex, eat shellfish, shave your beards, etc. too.. And just like the bible there are a lot of things that are not applicable to modern living and plenty of Muslims feel the same way. Chances are, Hamiid down the street doesn't want to behead your wife or enact Sharia law in Brentwood anymore than any Christian wants to enact some of the violent passages in the bible. They want us to hate them. They want us to hate the non-radical so as to justify radicalization. That is not the path, that is not love the way God teaches. We are at war with a radicalized form of a typically peaceful belief in modern times, we are not at war with all Muslims. They kill those that are not radical like them, and plenty of Muslims have fought and died for this country. Just saying.
  10. Now the police are saying that the second name released is probably a hoax and that nothing is confirmed. I'm about to turn the news off.. Tired of hearing nothing new, and tired of politically correct fuckfaces.
  11. It's been nice hearing the media refer to the guns used as "long guns" instead of big black scary assault rifles, although I did hear someone say "automatic gunfire." Doubtful.
  12. 5 minutes ago One suspect still in the back of the car, appears to be still breathing, "AR strapped to his chest."
  13. Could be shadows.
  14. Is it just me or is there still movement inside the SUV?
  15. High speed pursuit happening now.
  16. Gun free zone or not, a center for the disabled is a soft target.
  17. 14 dead now according to the Sherrif's Dept Twitter.
  18. Hillary already tweeted about it.
  19. Hmm, figured anyone who cared knew already?
  20. I thought Christoph Waltz was a glorious villain in Inglorious Basterds, and I think his role as Blofelt is far more compelling than the original. As for the original topic, no, I am not scared because I refuse to live any part of my life with fear. I will be armed, and if there is a bomb and I die, then fuck it and fuck them.
  21. Agreed. If anyone should be called retarded, it's Morgan.
  22. Was this the mid-season finale? Not impressed.
  23. I feel like this happens on Southwest all the time. Haha
  24. That was in my hometown.. The coroner that took care of the scene is a close family friend. I used to go there as a teenager at 3 in the morning when you could still smoke in it and chief all night with band mates. Awful story.
