This is not only the nicest range I've ever been to, but it is the closest one to me(I live in the 12 South/Gulch area). Every time I've gone in there I've had great conversations with the staff, I've been treated well, and some of their gun prices are actually great. Since I've been looking at buying a Glock 23 recently, I noticed they have even Academy's prices beat for a new gun in store. Not to mention the free coffee, food truck on sight, and endless shooting(I happen to go to the range when all the rest of you 9-5ers are stuck at work ), rifle range where I can shoot my shotgun, and the great range of accessories, I'd say it's a great situation. I didn't pay the fee up front for a year, I opted to pay monthly with the option to pay it off when I encounter large sums of cash(musician feast or famine lifestyle )... I can see how it might turn of some to pay 20 dollars per hour, but seeing how I shoot almost every week, the convenience, amenities, and the fact that I shoot almost every week.. I'd say it's justified. What do y'all think?

Mostly iconic movie firearms for me. I've got the 92FS, now I need a Walther PPK and a Smith and Wesson model 29. :D

That is a sweet deal! I love the 92s. :)

What is there left to shape or mold for this girl? She's dying. She chose to die peacefully instead of the otherwise inevitable excruciating physical and emotional pain. As for suicide, I think it is unfair to call it cowardly or selfish. It takes a hell of a lot of courage to pull that off. Abortion is a separate topic for me. Defenseless life is different.

Do any of you feel anxious when you carry?
suspiciousmind replied to bird333's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Ditto what everyone else said. I feel naked outside of the house without it. -
http://m.brisbanetimes.com.au/lifestyle/life/brittany-maynard-scheduled-to-die-this-saturday-fulfills-bucket-list-wish-20141030-11dzdh.html I personally think this is beautiful. We should all be able to choose how we die if the choice is between extreme suffering or peaceful escape. This drudges up Kevorkian style ideas for sure.. What do y'all think?

I'm a Red Sox fan through and through, and although the Giants are a great team.. The Royals deserve it this year. This has been a GREAT series.

http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/28/us/jose-canseco-shooting-accident/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 How does this happen? Make sure the gun is CLEAR, then strip it. Has this sort of event happened to anyone here before?

Why? Just a nerdy kid doing something cool. Do you find Jimi Hendrix's rendition disrespectful with the whammy bar effects meant to emulate bombs dropping?

Gun Shop on Antioch pike broken into
suspiciousmind replied to BLACKVANDRIVER's topic in General Chat
My ex-wife lived in an apartment complex on Bell Rd and on two seperate occasions saw guns drawn in altercations between "gangbanger" types. She also heard gunshots on several occasions. In a 6 month time period. That place is awful. -
I didn't realize it was evident, and in fact I'm leaning torwards the Glock. I appreciate the info about why the PDs are dumping them. Hell, I might just get both.

Friend, I'm not a genius but I am fairly savvy with finding good deals on the internet and I can't seem to find these glorious prices anywhere. Buds has them for 359.

The first handgun I ever shot was my father's Glock when I was around 10 years old. So, I do have a slight childhood draw to the Glocks for nostalgic reasons, but I handled the M&P in a store the other day and I was dumbfounded at how comfortable it was. But, the Gen 4 Glocks have the interchangeable back straps too. Guys, I think I'm going through an mid-20s post-divorce life crisis. Amazing what not being married can do for your bank account.

Some of the reviews I've seen on youtube tend to find a lot of similarities in the guns. I just want a .40 to add my carry rotation, and I am not particularly swayed by the Glock branding. That being said, there is an endless wealth of aftermarket parts for Glocks. BUT, the price on the M&P police trade-ins at Buds is almost too irresistible to pass up. I don't baby guns either as I am a collector by nature for my own enjoyment.. Not necessarily for resale value. So, slightly used or even well worn doesn't phase me. Thoughts?

I keep one in the chamber of all my guns. Safeties on when applicable, though unless I'm carrying on my person,

My dog is my best friend and has been for 7 years. If someone took him I would raise HELL to get him back. If I were in your position I would use any means possible to get him back. Once back in your home, make sure he has the proper ID on a tag, microchip or anything else secured on him so this doesn't happen again. Anyone that shoots a dog just for being on their property is a pretty big piece of sh*t, btw. I never understood why some property owners did that. There's a shooting instructor in Middle TN that I heard brags about shooting dogs that have gotten into his yard. Some people deserve a special place in hell.

Just had a Burger King manager want to fight me
suspiciousmind replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in General Chat
I try to approach these people with a therapeutic attitude and it tends to pay off, but that's just my personal opinion and experience. The world has a way of working things out on its own, and sometimes treating people who are rude to you with kindness can be more effective than the alternatives. Absolutely see this through, though. Sometimes it is our job to see that karma is delivered. :) But, at the end of the day, it's just Burger King, and thankfully we have an endless plethora of food options with plenty of good customer service as long as there is reciprocity. -

We gotta remember, very often these people are miserable in these jobs, especially managers. That guy might be having a hard time at home, or having a hard go at life in general. There's no excuse for his rudeness, but sometimes we gotta a walk a mile or two in other people's shoes. -

Sometimes it's best to just let it go. This is something I am still working on myself, but I think it'll extend our lives to not get our blood pressure up about small things. I feel ya, though.- 78 replies

Yup, I'm an idiot.
suspiciousmind replied to suspiciousmind's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Okay, just got finished. It cost 5 bucks and I got a whole lot of laughs from the employees. Haha! Both people I spoke to said the receipt and copy of the form are enough to continue carrying. When I spoke to the woman at the handgun unit at TDOS she seemed confused and asked somebody and then relayed to me what that person said. So, I'm gonna go with these fine folks at the service center as they probably deal with this often. -

suspiciousmind replied to suspiciousmind's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Well, then I just talked to the lady here at the Service Desk and she said I WILL be issued something acceptable to use as long as my permit is valid. I don't think anyone knows what's going on. -

Oh, I will. I'm at the driver service center right now. :O Talked to a lady earlier at the Handgun Office at TDOS and she said I will not be issued a receipt that will be acceptable to use as a "temporary" permit. I'll let you know. -
Worst nightmare... Green Hills Home Invasion
suspiciousmind replied to Peace's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
It certainly wasn't the green stuff that made this kid did this! Maybe he got his tuition bill from Belmont.
