  1. I want to use this particular response to my own post to stress the incredibly tongue in check nature of my post,
  2. I wear jeans every day. Haha. I suppose my post in part has to do with some videos I've seen lately. Some people post the most ridiculous videos out there about dress code, in particular this one dorky kid dressed like a Best Buy salesman convinced that his way is the only way, Sometimes I feel like any and all open carry videos are part of some secret homoerotic subculture like the cigar smoking videos of men wearing leather and smoking incredibly large ring guage cigars. Don't ask how I know about those videos. The internet can be a scary place.
  3. Let's leave the open vs concealed debate for another thread. That being said, why does it feel like the normal dress code options for open carriers fall into the following three categories? 1) Tacticool. Too many ventures into the Grip Zone and one too many Mountain Dew Code Reds with their Call of Duty. 2) Denim shorts and beater. Often with either a Hi Point or a Taurus in a Fobus. 3) Nerdy "dress to impress" collared shirt, tucked in, clean Super Cuts hairstyle, and Khaki shorts. Now, I know I'm making some harsh generalizations here, but here in Tennessee this is what I've seen. I open carry often, but God help me if I'm going to tuck my damn shirt in or dress like a douche canoe to make the public view me as some sort of safe Napoleon Dynamite perusing the aisles of Kroger with my nunchucks. I like to think I'm stylish(and my wardrobe reflects the current trends in the country music industry).. Maybe I'm way off base here. Or maybe I'm just an a*shole.
  4. The 1911 feels like a such a workhorse pistol that spending thousands on one seems like it's for those "other" people. I relate everything to guitars as I own a wide range of instruments worth between $300-$8,000. I play the hell out of my $8,000 guitar that I got part of an endorsement, probably because I didn't pay a dime for it, and honestly wouldn't drop that much dime for a guitar knowing I can pay between one to two grand and get a beautifully playing instrument. I suppose some people feel like they are a better shooter when they spend more money on a gun, but you give me a no name guitar or a $6,000 custom shop Les Paul and I'll make it sound good. If I had a super expensive custom Wilsom Combat or whatever... I'd shoot the shit out of it! Anyway, I'd buy a less expensive one and customize it myself. That's more fun! Maybe when I'm old I'll have less patience.
  5. Jim Carrey is entitled to his opinion as a Canadian. His political views are whatever. I don't go to a movie for an actor's political views as they are all mostly delusional. People that famous and rich have zero clue what the rest of the normal world is like. That being said, he is still ridiculously hilarious, and with a good script I think he still shines.
  6. My ex's father did a lot of work with him. I've heard tons of stories about him that will have you rolling on the floor. The guy used to get stoned off his ass and drive the tour bus with guidance from the driver. What a talent, though.
  7. Excuse me while I enter the grip zone.
  8. I think all of the XDs are fugly.. This one included. Grip zone? Is this a NERF gun?
  9. I buy things I need on Amazon weekly. Also a great place to find things like Holsters for cheeaaappp.
  10. I don't need another reason to hate mankind, so I will be avoiding the trenches of Black Friday. Y'all have fun.
  11. lol, sorry, I wasn't paying attention. 22-250 Rem. But there is some 22lr. But not very much.
  12. Moving to Nashville from Boston, I never get more infuriated with the drivers in this city than I do in the winter.
  13. Michael Brown is as dead he was yesterday, and my feelings are not any different. This is the parents' chance for their Jerry Springer 15 min of fame on a global level. Bunch of animals.
  14. I pocket carry an LCP in a DeSantis pocket holster when I need to carry a small gun due to clothes or as a backup gun in my rear weak pocket.
  15. This. Also, I'm not trying to demonize police officers in anyway. I have a lot of respect for the law and those that enforce it.
  16. I've seen some fairly awful videos recently and read stories about law enforcement unnecessarily(in my opinion) shooting dogs. There was one instance where the cop jumped into an innocent's backyard and gunned down the owner's dog, What is y'all's take on this? For myself, I think that if I saw someone gun down a life that I feel to be a true member of my family, cop or not I would probably act accordingly. Especially in the instance of a police officer being on my property for no reason and gunning down my animal for no reason, there must be some sort of fighting back one could do as they are not immune or above the law. The topic of cops and their abuse of power is a heavy topic in my mind, as some of the police officers in my family were heavily involved in organized crime.
  17. My dog is my world. Congrats to you.
  18. Yes sir.. I've been eyeing 1911s for a while and the Sigs are attractive. That'll prob be a future purchase. I've decided to hold off on a purchase for a few weeks til I can figure out just exactly how much I'm going to have to spend on my girl for Christmas. Her b-day is Dec. 24.. There couldn't possibly be an easy way out in the gift department for that situation.
  19. So, I've pretty much decided on a Glock 23, and I've spent just abut every day trying to convince myself to not go out and just buy it immediately, I've got the $ for it. But, then I look at the guns I already have and feel comfortable with and wonder if I am just making a frivolous purchase I don't need. That being said, I'm super obsessive. I've collected watches, cowboy boots, shoes, knives, hats, and guitars. I can't have just one thing and feel satisfied. In the guitar world we call it G.A.S... Or gear acquisition syndrome. Is this a problem we all share? Do any of your obsessions extend beyond guns and into other hobbies and lifestyles? Also, does this affect your relationships? Haha
  20. I'm a newbie, but I am interested. What are the rules? $?
