  1. Don't forget about something to carry your new tool in.
  2. The end.
  3. Don't wait, hit him up and he will make what you want. That is how I am getting that second knife you see in this post. He could not be easier to work with and goes above and beyond to get you what you want. Can't wait to get my hands in it, just waiting on one of our resident leather masters to work their magic on a sheath.
  4. Being able to magnify to a six is nice, but I really like the option to power down all the way to a one.  One of the only complaints I read about the Leopold was some people felt the scope was not a true 1.25 and had a hard time shooting with both eyes open on the lowest setting.  Thanks for the heads up.
  5. Thanks, if I wasn't looking for an illuminated retical, then the Nikon would be in the running. That is good info on the sight hight. I currently looking into a similar set up for sites. $$$ just keeps adding up. That being said, I would rather pay more upfront for something I am going to be happy with.
  6. I thought about this. May be something I will do down the road. Have you ever had or used this type of setup?
  7. When I moved here from Texas I asked my father-outlaw if he wanted to go squirrel hunting. I was shocked by his response, "We can't because they are not in season." I was even more shocked to know you couldn't hunt rabbit year round and it was regulated. The following animals are considered no-game in Texas and you can shoot them on private lands at any time and method you deem ok. Hogs are considered game, buy can be harvested at anytime with no limit. Armadillos Bobcats Coyotes Flying squirrels Frogs Ground squirrels Mountain lions Porcupines Prairie dogs Rabbits Turtles You can shoot in sight, bait, spotlight at night. I am not saying I agree with all of this, but I see no reason why some one could not take coyotes in their property. I also want to add that in my youth I shot many of these animals for sport, but I now have no desire to kill anything that I am not going to eat or is destroying property.
  8. I am pretty sure I am going to get the Leupold. One youtuber stated that he thought the 1.25 magnification was more like 1.5 and had a hard time using it with both eyes open. Has anyone had any experience with this? I am also going to forgo the high seethrough mount and get a lt104 - Larue Tactical quick release mount. Thanks for everyone's help.
  9. On low power with illumination, I would think target acquisition would quick in relatively close to the red dot. Am I wrong?
  10. Nikon Rimfire - this is the only scope that I own that is not a Leupold and I love it. Won't break the bank and is easy to adjust and the BDC is great. http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-P-RIMFIRE-Rifle-Scope-Black/dp/B00I3M634E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1456119084&sr=8-2&keywords=nikon+22+rimfire+scope
  11. I agree with this statement and Leupold's warranty/customer service is great. At the same time, you are hard pressed to see anything bad about the other two optics. I have thought about the magnifier, but I am running three things, sights-red dot-magnifier. This might not be a big deal at all. Once you add a magnifier you are over a $1000. If I am going to do this, I might as well just get an Acog.
  12. On Friday I picked up a Ruger 556fb, I am very excited, but I am relatively new to this platform. It has Troy sites, that are supposed to be great from everything I have read, but I would like to put an optic on it that will be a catch all. All the scopes and binoculars that I have ever owned except one Nikon have been Leupold, so I am strongly leaning towards the VXR. In my research I came across the Vortex Crossfire and the Bushnell AR. All three of these are illuminates and they are 1-4 with a 20mm tube. I think that this will work best for what I want. Any thoughts on these would be helpful as all the review I have read on line are favorable for all three. Money doesn't grow on trees, but I have no problem spending money on what I want. If something more economical will be just as effective I will happily buy it. Also thinking about a seethrough mount. Thanks in advance for your help. All the links are from Amazon, so you should be safe. 13. That one I'd beautiful, but I am looking forward to a specific knife of the day.
  14. The wave and skeletool are the only ones I own. They were the only ones that I thought I would ever want, but I started looking at the MUT and am thinking of picking one of those up.
  15. The bottle opener was a major plus, It saved my marriage. No more chips on the edge of the counter and table.
  16. Looks like you are well underway. What type of optic are you going to run?
  17. Yes, the one I the pic. It is old school, but nothing wrong with that.
  18. The one you have is a tank.
  19. I have never had a problem with any of the Leathemans that I have had. I currently have the Wave that I only carry on occasion, but has never let me down. I used to carry it every day, but I did not like it on my belt and it was to big in my pocket. My EDC is now a leatherman skeletool cx. It fits my hand and pocket well for daily practical use. I also do not like a serrated edges and this particular model has the staight edge. It also has some carbon fiber parts to make it lighter. I highly recommend the skeletool.
  20. Being from West Texas I have a hard time eating Mexican around here. If there was not a little old lady in the back that didn't speak English and her only job was to make tortillas all day, you didn't get my business. Satco and Oscars are about the only Mexican places I will eat at in this neck of the woods. There is a little place in Fairview that is good, but I don't head that way offten.
  21. I use to think the same thing when I first moved here.
  22. This place is my favorite. Their regulate pizzas are good, but their specialty pizzas are the best. Artichoke with bacon and mushroom; bbq chicken with bacon and and japs; the Mexican Pizza and the Vandy. You cannot go wrong. Their happy hr is great at well. I believe that it $2 Shinner on tap. I go to the one off Hillsboro. I like pizza perfect, but I am not a Nick's fan.

I am on my phone, do you live anywhere near Franklin? I would like to see your set up if you don't mind. There are some great razors in that $90 range. I was planning on getting a base model Dovo until the wife got me the Baxter.
