  1. Very Very sad. I will be praying for the 3 children and the families.
  2. Welcome to our Wonderful forum and Awesome group of members. I own four Glocks with the most recent being a 42. Good luck with building your range!!!!
  3. That's where I took my course and I really liked the instructor.
  4. Welcome to the Awesome forum and the great state of Tennessee!
  5. I don't think I could ever carry unchambered after watching the first two videos, the second one is definitely an eye opener. If nothing else, I would have a stiffer trigger spring installed or something until I felt 100% percent safe in carrying hot. Also, if I wasn't disabled and was in the shape I was 15 years ago I still wouldn't take a step out of the door with a per say "empty" gun. There are a lot of holsters out there that make carrying chambered safer. Thanks for posting this link BlackHawk.
  6. Very good idea, I hadn't thought of that. I'm also starting to work on the plexiglass recommendation also. I hope that whatever I or you and I or even us and our other members come up with can be transferred to an electric wheelchair as I have one on my radar for the near future. Thanks again for your help.
  7. I have been doing some more research online and ran across this feller, http://www.scotworksllc.com/index.html . I like the concept a lot but don't know if it would limit my carry choices or not. I have several, several handguns and like to rotate carrying them. I don't have specific holsters for each gun as I am using a "pouch" type holster right now until my shoulder holster comes in, which is suppose to fit several different guns. What are ya'll's opinion on this setup?
  8. I have looked on You Tube and really like the cross draw type but I have one "large" problem, my big fat belly. I have gained some weight since my accident and am working on slimming down. Thanks for the idea though.
  9. You are truly an inspiration to me. I am also in a chair from a work related spinal cord injury that happened in '07. After surgery I walked with a cane for several years until the spasticity in my legs just made it impossible to walk. I am looking for ideas for my carry gun and Peejman recommended I get in touch with you. I use an "Ultra-Lite" manual chair and have ordered a shoulder holster but would still like to come up with something that attaches to my chair for summer months or occasions when I need to really conceal my weapon and not draw attention to myself. I want to tell you that you really have made my day with your determination and positivity. I don't care for quitters nor negative people and you certainly are neither.
  10. Thanks Dolomite, I have a shoulder holster ordered and am checking in on the magnet type holder.
  11. Thanks for the link and the contact info, that feller gives me inspiration. I am gonna PM him if for nothing else but to make a new friend.
  12. WOW, Nice work!!! If anything it helped the appearance and really doubt you hurt the value if you're happy with it.
  13. I started using it after watching a few Hickok45 videos and I really like it. I think it will indeed leave a long lasting protective coating the longer I use it. I ordered a case of 6oz. aerosol cans about 6 months ago. Good luck with whatever you decide to use.
  14. I use either Speer Gold Dot or Glaser Pow-R-Ball. I've used Hornaday Critical Defense and didn't have any problems, I just like the penetration & expansion of the Speer and Glaser rounds.
  15. Hello folks, I am now in a wheelchair, been disabled since '07 and fighting this wheelchair business til it finally won, and am needing ideas for a more comfortable holster or concealed carry ideas please. Right now I am carrying OWB but as far toward the front as possible due to the sides on my chair making it very hard to get my pistol in and out of the holster. I am a little on the heavy side, am right handed and at the present time carrying my Taurus 738 TCP. I have tried a "fanny type" bag and it does work but due to me carrying things on my lap it's kinda hard to get to quickly. Also, I'm wanting to start carrying either my Bersa Thunder UC 40 or my S&W SD40. I did order a shoulder holster from Amazon, just a cheapo $29.95 one, to try out but it hasn't arrived yet. Do any of you wonderful folks either know someone who carries and is in a chair or are you in a chair and have found something that works well? If so, please share.   I have thought about maybe finding, or having one made, a bag type deal that attaches to the wheelchair someway, maybe with velcro? The only thing with this idea is I think anybody could come up and just jerk it off the chair, say if I'm in a conversation with somone, looking at hot rods at a car show, etc etc and have my attention distracted. It would only take a second and the bag, gun and it's contents would be gone or even worse, me be gone. Anyway, Thank y'all in advance for any help on my situation.
  16. X2. Every gun I own is hot and ready to fire. I don't even engage safety's on the one's that have them. The way I see it is an attacker's adrenaline is gonna be flowing so much faster than mine that, if caught off guard, I'm gonna be lucky to beat him to the punch without having to rack the slide or disengage the safety. Now keep in mind, I try to keep aware of what's going on around me at all times but I can be caught off guard. On a side note, I do keep all my firearms away from where a child/young adult can even get close to them unless they're sitting on my lap as I carry hot and ready every waking minute of the day. All I can say is good luck to every single good person in this world regardless whether they are carrying hot or not and to the bad, evil folks, well, I sure don't wish you the best. JM2C
  17. I bought mine new when the latest version came out, 4-6 years ago, and although I still have it I kinda regret buying it. I thought I had gotten a bad one as it kept failing to feed after about the third fire every time. I tried several different types and brands of ammo, cleaned several several several times, new clips etc.. to no avail. I had probably run 200rds. through it and was getting ready to ship it back to Keltec when all of a sudden no more "jamming". I guess it just had to get broken in because I haven't had a problem at all since and it's had well over 500rds. through it now. I haven't shot it in several months but I do know the terrible recoil is still there. As with all my guns I just go the extra mile on keeping them clean and have found that solves a lot of potential problems. On a side note, mine does seem to be pretty accurate.
