  1. For me this it the closest thing to a good 1911 in the Sig group. I messed around with one of these for a while and owned a 220, and the x-five is hands down a better pistol to me, but you sure pay for it $$$$$$. Still can't say that I would take one over a quality 1911/2011. Products & Services
  2. 5:34 I guess he never heard of the tenth amendment. POS
  3. I hunted with my carry guns for a bunch of years. It's a ton of fun and you learn a bunch about the round you are carrying everyday.

  5. No flaming...........just some info for whom ever it applies.
  6. You never should lube 1911 mags. Clean them yes but never leave any oil on them. It can result in this malfunction caused by lubed mag and inertia.
  7. It looks like they are trying to design the slide stop to use your right hand thumb. They need to take the extra material on the slide stop and add it to the thumb safety so you can ride it with your thumb. Kinda bass ackward.
  8. Most of the time he is shooting a 40 cal with a 170-172PF. So, in 40 that is identical to what a full defense load delivers. Depending on how tight his gun is he will usually run an 11lb or 10lb recoil spring, 17lb mainspring and I'm guessing a good 2lb trigger. At the area 8 championships one year I had a 30 min discussion about springs with him over breakfast. He is a super nice guy and I have been lucky enough to have been squaded with him at several matches over the past 3 years. He has an incredible amount of knowledge and if you get a chance to take a class with him you will not be disappointed.

  11. Kinda gives a whole new meaning for a bag to carry your in.

  14. I can't see how the mag release issue has anything to do with the trigger job or a barrel fit. More likely they put a different mag release in it for what ever reason. Maybe he was working on more than one gun and switched them by mistake. Who knows. But I don't like to send guns back to the factory for upgrades for this reason. Plus, you don't know who will be working on it and if they are new or any good or whatever. If I was to do work on an XD I would have this guy do it (Rich). He was one of the first to do great trigger jobs on them and Springfield actually called him in to show them what he was doing. Home Page
  15. That means it's not clearing the notch in the mag when you press the button. If the mag will release with 11 in it.............it may get better with 12 in it as the mag springs loose some strength. I had an XD for a while and I remember those mag springs were very heavy.
  16. One more idea. See if the other mag relaese button does the same thing. Also do you hear a click when you press the mag release button?
  17. Also, make sure there is none of that grease on the mag lips. That will make the bullet walk forward. What I was suggesting was to (if you have an extra mag) put one round in the mag put it in the gun and chamber a round(then take that mag out). Then put the other full mag in. Then check and see if the mag will come out. You know that that mag (bullet in the mag) could not walk forward.
  18. Is it walking the top round of the full mag forward? That would cause the mag to not want to come out. You can always use a charge mag and then put a full one in behind it.
  19. You can't beat a gun that is on you. I know you said you can do a .4+, but a common reaction time is .19. BTW, I would love to hear the particulars on that draw. How far is the target and is it point shooting from the hip etc....
  20. I think if you asked this marine what would have happened if he was OCing I think you would get an ear full. The retired marine and the robbers | American Handgunner | Find Articles at BNET And then there is this....Just reading through the odmp pages you will see time and time again the known was at a complete disadvantage to the unknown. Police Officer John Pawlowski, Philadelphia Police Department And remember when Sgt. Mark Chesnut was shot this summer? He watched as the BG walked up to the car and had a cc gun under his shirt and the known once again suffered at the hands of the unknown. If Mark could have seen he had a gun things would have been different. The bottom line is that CC is a tactical advantage for either side.
