  1. http://bearingarms.com/army-wants-new-handgun-way-can-now/ It's here on the second page. It's just weird their website says nothing about it. Why would you put so much r&d/money into an idea and not talk about it on your website?
  2. Yeah I've searched everywhere I could think and can't find anything. Mike is probably better at finding stuff than me though. It did get me thinking though. I'm pretty sure I just figured out a way to do it. Now all I need are investors!! Lol
  3.   Where are you reading that? I can't find anything like that?
  4. Yeah it doesn't bother me either...I kinda want one to mess around with....
  5. The point being that most assume the double stack grip to be thicker. I don't know what the detonics grip measures, I was just merely pointing out that even the sti grip is no thicker at present..
  6.   Most don't know that. The circumference is bigger of course, but it's very nice to carry as far as printing etc..
  7. I love the 2011 as a carry gun, and the extra rounds are not a bad thing…..
  8. Well the STI grip is slimmer in thickness than a regular 1911 grip too. Regular 1911: 2011 Grip:
  9. Yep, the STI patent expired a year or so ago. So, I would assume there will be a bunch of double wide 1911's coming to the market in coming years…...
  10. I was there a few weeks ago and they are aware of the new law. I was looking at some autos and they asked if I we're LE, and if so they could sell me one otherwise I'd have to wait for july 1.
  11. Jerry has grizzly like paws. When you shake his hand you quickly realize the surface area and strength he has. My hand disappears and I am always struck with a feeling of inadequacy. lol
  12. Here are two that I'm looking forward to carrying come July 1. 6/30/14 - it was too long…... 6/30/14 - it opened too conveniently…...
  13. No I didn't do the engraving. I outsource that kind of thing now.......it just makes more sense in my world. :-)
  14. I had a few of these made with my logo on them. I kept one for myself and love it!!!
  15. I look for a rule book change requiring the RO with the timer to show the time to both the shooter and the scorekeeper at minimum.
  16. Exactly! If this is true then I hope they get kicked out and banned from the sport for life. Sad to think grown men would act like that..... How anyone would get enjoyment out of a 15 dollar piece of wood hanging on their wall that they knew they didn't earn is beyond me..... Easy fix though as stated with a timer display........
  17. In 45:   Dan Wesson   In 9mm or 40 or 38S:   STI
  18. I prefer the     over everything else. Lots of great choices out there, but for me the      is the one I can run faster and more accurate.     (I didn't include it per the OP's instructions  ;)) Sorry couldn't resist.  :biglol:
  19. The 1911 is designed to seat a mag without pressing the mag button.   Often the 8 round mags are tough to seat when they are full anyway and some guns need man handled. You won't hurt them by treating them like a sturdy tool when seating a mag.    If however it remains a PITA you can put a lighter spring in the mag release and that will often get one where they want to go….
  20. Also, if your chamber depth is correct you do NOT want to use a finish reamer to open up the throat at all. It takes very little to over cut a chamber. Again the right tool is a throating reamer.
  21. You need a throating reamer if when loading long, the rounds sit proud.   A finish reamer will mainly cut the chamber and if you use it to cure your loading long issue, your barrel will quickly be ruined.
