  1. Not a fan myself, but do think it will happen now. The last administration probably dragged their feet on this, the new one, hopefully, may just get it done.
  2. Yea, on second thought, I think I'd keep the hi-point. http://freshpics.blogspot.com/2008/12/ugliest-prostitute-mug-shots.html
  3. Nice, hopefully soon anyone that wants one get one from the CMP. http://www.alloutdoor.com/2016/01/19/a-cmp-1911-update-from-cmp-chief-operating-officer-mark-johnson/
  4. Never left stuff in a bag but being that I was a Logistician my last few years in the Army, I flew in and out of country commercially quite often. Try showing up positive on the explosives residue test a few times...I'm surprised I didn't end up permanently on a no-fly list. Luckily, they recognized that many soldiers coming home from conflict areas may be contaminated no matter what they do, so never stripped searched, just given extra scrutiny. My travel companions have had to surrender a few pocket knives now and then, silly critters. And have had to get with the embassy a couple of times when certain countries wanted to confiscate our weapons, yea just what you need, showing up in indian country without your weapons or gear.
  5. I guess it depends, I'm not earning anything off of them, in competition or resale. All my guns and rifles will achive my goal, whether thats getting sub-MOA, CNS shots if needed, or just chasing that can around the range. But I have seen way too many ARs for sale that are priced quite high, not that they're not worth it or anything, just that the sticker shock is there, unless you delve into the specs and price them out. But for the average buyer, a casual scan will probably put them off. I guess it applies to the higher end guns and knives as well, most, unless they are really desirable, won't sell at their actual value. So yes, I can afford a good trigger, but will I get $100-$300 out of said trigger, I doubt it. Even scopes I skimp on, somewhat, there is no way I'm putting a 1k scope on a rifle I purchased for under that amount. The most expensive optic, that didn't come mounted on an acquisition, is the night scope (with a coupon and free shipping) and that was a present to myself,...still get pangs about it too. All I need is decent glass, and an aiming reference, most times I don't go above 4 power, even though most my scopes go to at least 9.
  6. It has a built in one, works ok close in but I have an IR filter on a surefire that lights up a long ways.
  7. I got this one, the way I figure if I'm looking for something in the dark, I may want to shoot it. http://www.opticsplanet.com/sightmark-photon-xt-4-6x42s-digital-nvriflescope.html
  8. Optics and upgraded triggers are two things I believe can be made less expensively, with all the automation and CNC, but it would not be conducive to sellers of those items. But you are right in a sense, optics are better than irons. I just dont believe in buying optics that are worth more than my rifle. I still make sure I can hit with my irons, but all my rifles do have optics.
  9. I would rather be well trained, I don't compete so don't need anything super duper. I can put a magazine into an 8" plate through a VTAC shooting barrier with any of my carry guns, and can close that from a bench. With my rifles I can do the same through the barrier and can put a round where I want in a deer. Nice triggers are great, no doubt, I just don't need one. As with your analogy, I would take the Honda and have enough money to get cross country, if I take the Ferrari, it would stay in the garage while I save up enough to pay for the gas.
  10. I've posted here about this same thing before. If I'm doing a build, I may get a polished trigger, such as PSA's, but I haven't messed with any of my handgun or other rifle triggers. Now, my Kimber's trigger is much nicer than my Glock, but it hasn't kept me from using the Glock more.
  11. I don't know, there have been integrated barrels for sometime. I know that 10/22s have had some for almost 20 years.
  12. Not I, not much into crowds. Keep your head on a swivel, you will be unarmed in a high crime area (DC) and probably be lots of protesting going on, especially in non-ticket areas.
  13. I realize that, just commenting on the acceptance part. Federal properties don't accept state CCW permits.
  14. Well, sort of. Driver's licenses do have National Reciprocity, for driving, and State Id, in all 50 states. It's only Federal Facilities and Flying, do to TSA that this will affect. I would be comfortable falling under the States Reciprocity CCW enforcement rules like they do Drivers Licences, just because TN allows 18yo and over doesn't mean a reciprocity state needs to. Just like now, a sign has Force of Law here even for CCW permit holders from other states.
  15. Ha, yea. I considered editing it but I only do that if nobody has called me out on it, or if it doesn't change the post much.
  16. Yea, good catch. But they just reported that its back up., just linked to an old article. http://www.tennessean.com/story/news/politics/2017/01/13/bill-introduced-eliminate-permit-requirement-openly-carry-handguns-tennessee/96538976/
  17. Now this should have few retractors here. http://www.wsmv.com/story/25194837/senate-votes-for-open-gun-carry-without-permit
  18. As with many things, there are some politics, even in this. http://kitup.military.com/2012/05/army-stands-ban-unathorized-pmags.html http://www.guns.com/2012/05/26/us-army-improved-magazine-pmag-ban-tan-is-the-plan/ I remember the whole CLP vs Militec-1 when I was in, even though boots on the ground gave the thumbs up to Militec-1 vs CLP, the DOD still banned its use. Luckily for us we had a good stock, sent for free by the mfg after NSN requisitions for it were changed to CLP. Idiots!
  19. Good for him, wonder if it will hit the mainstream media though.
  20. Umm, pmags have been in use in the Army, at least in SpecOps, for years. They even have a National Stock Number, which was in use at least 3 or 4 years. The MC is just now getting these? 21. While this case, if what was written is true, seems to be a cut and dry case of poaching, I worry that bigger fines may mean that TWRA agents worry more about fines than actually protecting wildlife. But to blatantly shoot a deer on someone else's property (across a road?), then drive onto said property is just asking for it.
  22. Will do, but first send me $50 dollars, I'll take paypal, for the processing fee.
  23. Just reported the same to TGO David, it's a SPAM message from a bot probably. Edit: If you reply they will probably agree to cut you in on the winnings, but first you have to send them your account number, you know, so they know you are serious.
