  1. Yeah, I've got two large trees, fixing to be one. I hate them things, can't walk in the backyard without almost rolling an ankle. The roots will kill some other trees, lost a couple fruit trees before I figured that out. Did learn a good trick to get fishing worms with them though.
  2. Not necessarily. Some of these terrorists are not what I call "mental", they are smart and cunning. They shoot up places to further their agenda, not because they have a screw loose, but because they truly believe in their cause...No matter how F'ed up it is.
  3. Or you can construe this to mean that Roof is a loon, and him having a rebel flag, shooting blacks, in a church is a one off situation, not a reason to ban flags, remove web accounts and remove statues. But I digress, it only counts if its a white on black crime I guess.
  4. Count me in as one of the 10. I have let management know about flags that needed replacement, and have given them contact info for the boy scout troops that perform flag retirement ceremonies. I have stopped by the side of the highway to pickup flags that have blown off the poles, and retired quite a few myself. I don't view flying a flag that needs retirement as disrespect, improper etiquette maybe, but not disrespect. At least they have taken the time to fly one. I personally don't have a flag flying, because I know that I may not pay as much attention to it as is necessary, and don't have the proper setup to fly one 24/7. I flew a few of course but with so many getting blown off the pole (pole and all in some cases) I just quit flying them altogether.

    Target

It's all about the speed of the bullet, and the angle of the target. The minimum safe distance for rifle is 100 yards, but like in this video, you are shooting a faster and heavier than normal bullet, you may want to back that up some more. I always hang my targets so upon impact the bullet will be deflected down into the ground. I have shot at those IPSC silhouette targets and have been hit by splatter, but none that deep, and I was much too close anyway. For handgun (the real handguns not the ones the NFA calls handguns) I keep it no closer than 35 Yards, and have yet to feel/hear anything come back.
  6. No, for me at least, it's not about taking a knee, it's about disrespecting the Flag, and the American Anthem.
  7. First let me say that the way Dallas did their little protest is the way to go. They did their kneeling then promptly got up and respected the flag and the anthem, good for them. As to my reaction to ANY player who chooses the flag/anthem as their protest, screw them! I don't give a crap about what got their panties in a bunch that day, disrespecting the flag and what it stands for is never ok with me. While I served and fought for those rights, I don't have to like the way they exercise them. Just like the Westboro a-holes, I don't dispute their right to protest, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.
  8. I think he means showing the disrespect being a ratings thing. Otherwise why even point the camera in their direction.
  9. I wasn't drafted, but I do feel they are being disrespectful toward that which I swore to defend.
  10. Where have you been? "If I had a son..."
  11. They play the anthem in military theaters, and yes we stand for it. As to not complaining about the goof offs, there is a big difference between being lackadaisical and being totally disrespectful.
  12. I agree with jumping to conclusions too fast, but in this case; will we ever know the facts or will they just label it a "mental" case and move on? Anyone willing to shoot up a place can me made to sound "mental" including Roof, at least to those among us partially sane folks.
  13. I have my prints and DNA in the Federal System, but never had any issues getting guns (long or short) in NC, GA, KY, or TN. It may be because I have never had my clearance "Revoked" per se, though it's been lowered and raised multiple times.
  14. Supposedly they have started a Federal Civil Rights investigation, so you may be right.
  15. Email sent. I think it is our turn to sit one out, I think next game schedule...Thursday through Monday should be No NFL Weekend. If enough people sit it out, I think they will get the message.
  16. I don't know his reason yet, but:
  17. An air dryer, which I can use anyway, can let me use a compressor I think. But the trick is to get one that is good, and accurate for a decent price.
  18. Nice, I was looking into a pcp for squirels, but at the moment they're a bit too expensive for that purpose.
  19. Might of been hit by a car, but I would cull her just in case. As to the meat, you may be able to tell after you field dress her. But if you don't want to take a chance, critters got to eat too.
  20. Hmm, how bout a trade? PM inbound.
  21. Ah, yes..I can see it now. Mine is a bit older, looks like a t-handle, the trigger releases the pressure off two ball bearings, releasing the string. This one looks like the wrist sling does alot of the pull, unlike mine that just uses the sling as extra support.
  22. Mighty nice of you. I have/had that same rattle bag, it did get me a few over the years. No clue what the other item is, thought it was a small knife. It will surely be of good use to someone.
  23. I don't know, almost 3am, AR close enough to return fire at a moving vehicle, AND hitting all three, two fatally...maybe just gang related. It sounds more plausible that he ambushed them, and they returned fire.
