  1. Seen this in another forum and thought I'd share. Goes to show you that these dang laws don't work, and that American ingenuity is alive and well.
  2. I get sidetracked sometimes, and accidentally learn some interesting stuff. This link caught my attention, don't know why. So tell me this is not click bait at its finest. Great Tits Are Evolving Longer Beaks Because of Bird Feeders
  3. I rarely pay for anything in cash at a store, mostly because VISA will back up my sale if something goes wrong and I get points. Only when I buy something off here or Craigslist in a face to face transaction will I use cash, checks only at the DMV and property taxes, Money Orders when the other party will not accept PayPal. I do carry cash though, mostly less than $100 just in case.
  4. A disarmed populace, how well that has worked out in the past for the populace??
  5. Warden in my area would of just stuck it to him anyway.
  6. I've been updating some of my gun maintenance tools, bought a few punches, more on that later, a gun mat and a gun vise. I looked at three different ones, the old Tipton, the new Tipton, not impressed BTW, and finally settled on the Lyman vice and mat. Its lightweight since its only for light smithing, cleaning and trigger work but it holds much tighter than the new Tipton at a much cheaper price. The mat, I like it, it has built up areas to keep screws and springs from rolling off, something which always happened on my standard mat. Ok, so on the punches..I bent a few trying to take a barrel off my S&W M&P flattop. Darn tapered pin just would not give, beat the heck out of it with all the punches I had. Finally got a set of nail setters from Lowes and the middle one worked, was damaged a bit but worked. The issue was that it had a round head and just would not keep a punch centered. The nail setter has a hollow end, so it stayed on the pin. Two taps and it was out, of course by then I had clamped it down to let me have both hands free so it received the full force of the hammer, though I only gave it light/medium swings.
  7. Looks like you pulled your shot to the right a bit.
  8. Congtats, I'm going to have to try them out next time I visit my son up there.
  9. You can open two file explorer windows, one with the flashdrive and the other with the source of the pictures. Drag over the pictures you want on the flashdrive and your good. Off site storage of data you want to protect can get expensive, especially if you never have need to retrieve it. If it all fits on an external flashdrive, or an external hard drive for that matter, just store that at your relatives place. If you ever need it, it's there, if not it's not wasted money. If you are more creative, you can store data offline on the free services, just split it up between the various services, using one for family photos, one for equipment photos, one for misc photos etc. If you keep personal data offline be sure to encrypt it, because you never know who will gain access.
  10. I miss hunting fox squirrels, when I was stationed at Ft Bragg I hunted them all the time. Mostly redish gray ones, but they had black ones as well, it's just that I never seen one unless I only had my .270 on me. Takes fewer of them to make a sandwich .
  11. I could swear there is already a lawsuit filed, I'll have to dig up a link.. Yup our Brady "friends" at it again: https://www.dallasnews.com/news/guns/2017/10/10/texas-bump-stock-maker-faces-lawsuit-following-las-vegas-mass-shooting
  12. Just because it looks or sounds like a machinegun does not make it one, at least not unless they change the legal definition. If I show anyone, that is not accustomed to the messed up ATF rules, my 300 Blackout pistol, they will swear up and down that it's a rifle, yet currently ATF says it is not. The courts have made bad decisions in the past, but for the most part they try and keep it within the letter of the law, so I doubt they can rule any other way. The unknowing public will just have to get over it.
  13. I'm not even going to try and get excited about it this time. I'm going to do like last time and make my own.
  14. Well, it looks like it's more than just bump-fire that they are targeting, formatting is a bit off but you get the picture: https://curbelo.house.gov/uploadedfiles/finalbumpstockban.pdf ..................................................................... 15. While I agree it is an issue, it's not as big an issue as what is being presented. Stats just don't support that, and I personally think they have chosen the wrong poster child for this cause. Brown was a thug that attacked a policeman and got shot for his troubles. If they would of chosen Philando Castile, or Levar Jones who was shot at the gas station, I'd have more sympathy for their cause. But no, BLM, Obama, Hillary (the Dems actually), the NFL players and to a lesser extent the NFL itself, use this guy's death as a the reason to insult almost the entire country???
  16. I think a little more is needed, what caliber and from what twist are we looking at, and what is your goal? I've changed out barrels to a faster twist in order to stabilize heavier projectiles (for subs) but mostly just feed the rifle what it likes.
  17. I meant since the protest started; the NFL is just a money hungry organization fines some and lets others slide. http://www.dailywire.com/news/21470/nfls-free-speech-kneeling-anthem-fine-fighting-hank-berrien
  18. Yea, the system will detect images and give you the option to insert the image or a link. I like that it also lets you highlight part of a post and allow you to quote the highlighted portion, saves a bunch of deleting.
  19. Many ways to go about it, but he may be correct in doing so, at least he is controlling the narrative a bit and not leaving it to the MSM to do it all. We already have conspiracies coming out the wazzoo, imagine what tales they'd spin if left to them only.
  20. Changing calibers or just twist? Personally, unless you're getting into a wildcat, I'd get a new rifle.
  21. If I'm not mistaken, this has been policy since it started but never enforced. As to enforcement, we will see, as for me, I'm out this year. I may return next year depending on how it goes from now on. I enjoyed watching, not going to lie, but enough is enough and it's nothing I can't do without.
  22. Not me, if you don't get it by now you never will
  23. I had posted about the interview here but the post disappeared. I seen the 30 minute interview and must say all I seen is someone who is trying to reconcile the brother he knew from the brother that committed this horrendous act. Yea, he rambles a bit, but he keeps trying to answer what is asked as best he can and again, I think he did a decent job of it. Some say he is a nut, and he may be, but I just didn't see it that way. He brought up some good points though, some worth considering: If there is no cause or condition to point the finger at, we are in trouble. 100K to a multi millionaire is not a large sum. He was more than capable of doing all this himself Bellhops will take your bags up with no questions asked, specially for known high rollers
  24. The way I see it is If it was ISIS related, there would be something left behind to confirm it. Terrorism only works when people are terrified, having people questioning their involvement lessened that from the beginning.
