House Passes Concealed Carry Reciprocity
Omega replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don't know, many stories do have CCW Permits mentioned, though not always in a positive light. I don't thing that is actually being tracked as a stat though, as there are quite a few where no mention is made either way. I know that the NRA sends out Armed Citizen stories, but even there some don't mention it. -
Shooting at least three rounds, two at the body, one at the head, in a fast, controlled manner has been my method of training for the past 17 years. But situation will dictate, how you engage the target. You don't want to draw and shoot at a target that is not an immediate threat, and you don't want to take your time aiming at one that is.

Been using him for my friends for the last few years. Currently $70 for standard cut.

Yea, almost all brands do that, cheaper than including disks I guess. The repair utility program uses that to fix driver issues without losing your data, but due to the upgrade I doubt that would work. I always backup my user data so I will never lose it, even if I have to do a full reinstall of my operating system.
-
You can stop it, but you almost have to be expecting it, like the "free" Win10. I was off the net with my PC long enough to hear about that so I researched how to permanently stop it. Seems there is no good way to rollback that update either, so a full reinstall of the previous edition is almost necessary.

Might be my thin tinfoil hat, but I tend to believe that MS does this stuff on purpose to get you to buy new hardware. For most users, version upgrades are not needed, and "free" upgrades need to be looked upon with suspicion. Win XP was a very good operating system, the best Win version until Win 7 came out, Win 10 has nothing on 7 IMHO, unless you have a touchscreen. I tend not to buy new computers until they break, and then only if parts are not available. But for the last couple years, I've been using a tablet for all but my heaviest workload, so when I do turn on my laptop, it takes some time to run through the updates, which I verify before downloading, Win10 was specifically blocked.

? Unless it is a hardware issue, putting Win7 on it should take care of it. Win7 has been around long enough to have a robust collection of compatible drivers.

Congrats! Try as I might I have never been able to tell the difference between a bull and a cow when it's on my plate. She will make some tasty vittles for quite some time; what she weigh?

Oh, don't get me started with these things. I'm no turkey hunter, so I may be missing something, but they have camo, which that one may be sold as, that resembles a turkey. It's designed to hunt behind...just didn't sound safe to me, then I seen this: http://www.kansas.com/sports/outdoors/article145929249.html Heck, I would get nervous placing deer decoys out, so I don't do it anymore, even though I had all kinds of orange one when I did.

Looks to be in great shape for such an old gun. Should prove to be a fine little varmint/small game gun.

The thing is, he should have been charged with manslaughter or negligent homicide instead of murder. They had the gun, knew the bullet had ricocheted off the pavement and still went for murder. Everything else being equal, this would of never made such headlines had it not been made so politically charged. Look at the incident here locally, hot young prostitute shoots homeless man and it only gets a few days of press. It has many elements that could of made this story linger in the press, but nobody picked it as THE story. Whether we like it or not, this is our legal system at work, 12 jurors decided and we need to accept it. I don't believe in double jeopardy, if a person is found not guilty then so be it. Do we really want the feds being able to pick and choose who they will prosecute when they are acquitted at the state level? How about the state charging you after a city, or county trial? No, I think they need to settle the whole jurisdiction portion before the trial and make sure they have a good case before they go for broke. Of course this doesn't affect criminal acts across state lines such as murders committed in multiple states, but not for the same incident.
-
No, it seems all they need is to be under state care, then the state can recoup their expenditures. There are a few loopholes, such as a disabled child in the house or a child living there with no means to go elsewhere. The child can be an adult child of the home owner in state care btw.

No, if it's not a good match, it's not a good match. No sense having a pet that will just cause stress, it's supposed to be an enjoyable partnership.

I kind of figured that; I wonder why Benchmade won't mail directly to customers?

Charging Handles...how much to pay.
Omega replied to hipower's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Well, in that case go with the BCM. After all it should be about what you like, and if you can find a deal too...icing. -
So I got to cleaning up in my shed and came across several multi-tools and a couple knives I wanted to sell, but I have a question on auto knives and mailing them. I had to go through a dealer to get my Benchmade serviced because they won't ship straight to a customer even though it is legal to own here in TN. So the question is, is it legal to ship auto knives withing TN? Also, anyone know anything about what this one would be worth? The links I found list them at over $200 for used but then an other at less than $100 new though there seems to be a difference between an older knife vs a newer made one for some reason. On the blade it has Duane Dieter Masters of Defense Spec Ops Trainer 154 cm It is brand new, never used so what I call new old-stock, which if I read it right should be one of the expensive ones.

Yea, and if your folks go into a nursing home, the state can put a lean on their property. And if they transfer (gift) said property, it had better be at least 5 years before they go into the nursing home or the state can still go after it. Knew someone that was fighting the state because their parent had parcelled out some land to them and they built a house on it, and the state said they owned their land and house because the parent went into a nursing home before the 5 years was up. I changed jobs so don't know the outcome but I thought it was BS for the state to even attempt that.

Even if you decide you need an extended latch later, they have those as accessories as well and you will still be under what a big name standard one goes for. And many also try and sell the ambidextrous notion, which I don't understand...you put one finger on each side of the handle, no matter what hand you use it will engage the latch. I'm a righty but shoot rifles left handed, never had an issue charging my weapons, and they're all right handed models, even my bolt actions. Guns I shoot right handed so never had the need, except for training, to use any of the ambidextrous features so ones with or without them are ok by me, nothing ever gets in the way. But those extended latches have gotten in the way before, but it wasn't one of the fancy ones, it was an accessory which I quickly discarded, now they are all standard. -

Speaking for me, I go for the 20ish ones because I get a standard handle, not any of the fancy ones with extended latches and such. I've tried some extended latch types and they don't do anything for me, and I'm not much for logos...at least at full price. Just make sure their made from the harder aluminum, 7075, and that the brand doesn't have bad reviews. -
Happy dog for sure, and a lucky one to have an owner who will care for him for the rest of his life.

Looks like a heeler/beagle mix, he will be a great dog I bet.
