  1. I'm good, for the most part I have what I need, can use a buffer tube I think but they should be plentiful since it's a standard one and should still be cheap. If not I'll sell a box of .22 and get all the parts I need

    Goodbye REI

I think he meant REI, their boycott won't last long since Vista has a lot of outdoor stuff that is popular. Us?., Many of us have a long memory.
  3. I'd Love to, but finding good crappie holes has been hard for me. I had a place I went to that did pretty good, but after the flood it just doesn't produce anymore. I was told of a new spot so I may try my hand there, I love me some crappie.
  4. The thing is, I need to raise the level, about 6-8" so tilling won't work. I know to make my own, but it takes a few seasons to work it just right. I had just moved to this new spot and started using a raised garden technique instead of just tilling. I used a bunch of soil conditioner, tree bark like, and compost , as well as some gypsum to break up the clay top soil I purchased. I should be ok to move the soil I already started last year, as I am only moving it a short distance, but I have a lot of work ahead trying to get a good ph going. I have a test kit to give me the rough numbers, last year I was ok for the tomatoes, but because I started to use seed instead of buying the plants I started too late and had a bad crop. I have to keep an eye out for free compost again this year, there is always somebody with too much horse manure out there.
  5. Well, that didn't take long to register, keep it up! https://morningconsult.com/2018/02/28/firms-see-negative-responses-to-cutting-business-ties-with-nra/
  6. I need to move mine, I started it when the leaves were down last year and not enough sun hits that area. I also need better soil, but I did condition it a bit last year so it may do OK if I just move it. I wish I could afford, and find, some good black garden soil, most is TN clay. I haven't started any seeds yet but plan to this month I have my indoor starter kit all prepped and ready to go.
  7. Just joined but they do have National Exposure: https://gunowners.org/goa-vs-cnn.htm
  8. Sure, just as I think it is reasonable to restrict cell phone ownership, which cause more teen deaths, as they do guns. I really could care less what some ignorant, not stupid, ignorant, folks think. Many just don't comprehend what the whole 2A is about, hell many don't understand the actual words let alone the meaning: https://anotherslice.life/2018/02/19/wait-a-second/#comment-13875
  9. Didn't your parents ever teach you not to play with your food? Here at the homestead, all manner of critters are safe from the table, out at my hunting area, anything goes.
  10. I highly doubt that, the sleeping giant which is the conservative movement has awoken, and I'm sure every Senator and Representative has had more emails and calls they can handle right about now.
  11. Sent the e-mail to Blackburn via GOA, joined for the year (wanted the 50cal GOA Bullet ), but will up that to lifetime upon re-up. Ok, just added both senators as well through GOA, just in case they missed my other direct emails.
  12. Man, the lefties are chomping at the latest anti-Trump bit. I'm going to go with a wait and see approach with this; with some letters to our reps of course. Too much BS is being thrown out there right now, just like after Sandy Hook, but not a dang thing was done then, except the shortages of course. So far it's a bunch of rhetoric from both sides, I expect another "squirrel" event to take this unto the back page of the paper soon. And to be perfectly honest, I'd sooner elect a rock instead of Hillary, but will blast Trump as I would Hillary when it comes to our rights. If he is as smart as many think he is, he is well aware what an anti-gun bill would do to his base, and he has no chance without us.
  13. There should then be a push to raise the criminal statutes to 21 as well then, if an 18-20yo can't be trusted with weapons because of what, Immaturity? Then maybe they're to young to know what they're doing legally??? Military? Fugget about it! JMHO.
  14. Anyone still interested I seen this ad on craigslist: https://clarksville.craigslist.org/spo/d/mre-cases/6507585549.html
  15. If it is the call to restrict magazines to 5 rounds will be right around the corner.
  16. Oh, we have learned quite a bit, we are now better trained in marksmanship to make every round count. Reading the account via a few sources, I'm surprised there wasn't more done to stop these criminals from burning and looting in the town and school before the shooting took place.
  17. They will survive, I have gone in there once or twice, the first time was because of a gift card and I had to just get "something" to spend the card. Their prices were not good enough to bring me back. I can't imagine their business depends on the overpriced guns. And the AR prices have dropped so much that there can't be much profit margin anymore. But there is a segment of sportsmen that will stop using them because of it, so I am sure they will feel the pinch. I know I won't step foot in it anymore, no matter their prices now.
  18. I'll have to give that a try, I just keep thinking that ballistics labs use water to capture pristine rounds for matching slugs so have avoided that.
  19. What recipe did you use, and did you calibrate it or just for fun? I was thinking of doing something like that to get some captured bullets for a display board.
  20. No, it is a decisive win. When you can walk away from a fight, it is a win.
  21. I've seen people continue to fight after 7.62, so no caliber is immune to having a perp continue the fight. In a life and death situation, the trick is to fight until there is no fight left in your opponent.
  22. I'm the same way, unless you actively go against one side or another, I could care less what it's current CEO. President, or Spokesman thinks. Once you start putting those thoughts into actions then it's on.
  23. Might be cheaper to rent a gator, check with JD, dealerships, they may have something.
  24. I think all stripped lowers are "other" until assembled, that is why you should make it into a pistol first, then a rifle. I would have them transferred to BP, many stores do that.
