  1. I just find it difficult to have sympathy for folks like that, when men, women and children are dying over there due to no fault of their own, not to mention our troops that pay the ultimate sacrifice to attempt to bring safety to those regions. Don't get me wrong, I find no joy in their deaths, and do consider their killers the bad actors in this, but just like those idiots that intentionally cross into wild animal enclosures, like the hippo slapper, if they die in the attempt, I'll not shed a tear. Call me cold hearted if you will, but sympathy is hard to come by for those folks.
  2. Maybe not 100% him, and maybe not the entire economy, but this says that at least during his tenure he hasn't done it any harm: https://money.cnn.com/2018/08/22/investing/bull-market-longest-stocks/index.html https://tradingeconomics.com/united-states/unemployment-rate https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/CES0000000001?output_view=net_1mth If up to this point, that is all they have on him...I say let him run with the ball.
  3. It's not a stretch, IMHO, to consider the headline true. And one thing that I've noticed is that SNOPES leans so far left they're in danger of falling over. I had considered them to be fairly honest in their investigation once upon a time, but as time went on, well, not my first choice at fact checking.
  4. I remember seeing this, and had my doubts when first presented with the video. But what was not mentioned when they aired the video, is that the weapon was still in his hand when he was shot. That puts a whole different spin on it for me.
  5. There are a variety of kits available with LED strip, transformer and even controllers if you want different colrs/brightness levels. https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Home-Improvement-LED-Strip-Lights/zgbs/hi/17534489011 https://www.lowes.com/pd/Utilitech-24-in-Plug-in-Under-Cabinet-LED-Light-Bar/1000088077
  6. Seems its the keys in the ignition that is the issue: T.C.A. 55-8-162 (a)
  7. I don't know about deserving their fate, but it's difficult having any sympathy for people like that. Well derserving of the Darwin Award for sure.
  8. Not glad she is gone, but I for one am glad to hear it wasn't due to OD, or some other self-inflicted reason. Sounds like she lived a long fruitful life.
  9. No because if they were older they would have kept their jobs and stayed out of ISIS territory.
  10. I always say we should remove all warning labels and let nature take its course. ID 10 Ts are everywhere.
  11. I think that's the mantra of every church regardless of denomination. But with CoS they beam you up.
  12. For those with a 3D printer: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2939657
  13. There is always another level, but even if you happen to reach the top, they will still ask for money. So not having to upgrade will not mean they will not accept further donations.
  14. Looks like a shipping plug https://www.cflgunandtactical.com/Renegade-Plus-Upper-762X39MM-p/00912-7.62x39.htm
  15. Those Harbor Freight ones work ok, I have used them before. The only drawback is that the little light needs to be covered to not give them away and you have to be there to know when they go off. Do you have wifi in the house? I bought some Yi cameras for $35 off Amazon (Now $50): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076BL7JVS they work great, you can set them to alert your phone, send you short videos and can take a pic/video at will or when they sense motion. These are indoor ones and need a plug, but I suppose they can be housed in a water proof/resistant housing if needed but I got the Blink Cameras https://www.amazon.com/Blink-Home-Security-Detection-Included/dp/B071YPNMN1 for outdoors but they are much more expensive, but they are battery operated (or corded if you want).
  16. While I like the concept of rechargeable batteries, I prefer using disposable ones, for the mere simplicity of being able to change batteries on the fly and being able to afford to have a few on-hand. I've also not had good luck with rechargeable batteries, they don't hold a charge as long as my lithium 123 batteries and don't work as good either, so I stick with my multi surefire flashlights.
  17. No, not born in the ghetto, but also didn't grow up anywhere near middle class. I joined the Army at 18, knowing dang well my only other options were prison or death, yea a rough neighborhood. The big difference is that my mom tried to teach me right from wrong, and my friends mother pushed me in the right direction as well. Many of my friends had parents that, well, were as bad as their kids and looking back, am glad I left as I only know of one friend that made it out, yea, the one with the mother that helped me too. The stats support what I always say, you put enough people of one race into a group and they will kill each other. Not many whites mix with blacks in the ghetto, those that do must be as bad or worse to survive or become one of the outliers in those crime stats. The only fix I can see working is from the inside, parents need to control their kids, however they need to, and break away from the something for nothing mentality and show their kids that working for what they get is a much better solution than dealing drugs, robbing and stealing.
  18. Probably due to the attempted assault that made it a felony.
  19. I had seen a report once testing a bunch of old body armor material, Kevlar, if I remember right, held up the best over time. I've done the same to a few old level IIIA panels, with 5.56 and 9mm it stopped the 9mm, and a few 5.56, but barely.
  20. And here I thought it was just mine. My godfather gifted me a sporterized one, and it's recoil sure is stout. I keep it for sentimental reasons, but it's a safe queen. It needs a elevator for the rear sight but haven't bothered to look for one.
  21. I always bushhog the trails and spray my hunting blind for wasps a few weeks before deer season. I pulled up to the blind only to be stung quite a few times. Luckily I had already prepped the sprayer, so I managed to kill most, if not all the nest. Now I tread lightly and keep an eye out for nest to do preemptive strikes when needed.
  22. Yea, a very surprising find. I know it was Garand ammo because of the clips. There were a few that I pulled, worst ones, to check the powder, but all were fine. I scraped the loose corrosion off, and put them into the tumbler. I still have one full clip, no worse for wear.
  23. I threw a bunch of M1 30/06 into one without issues, all fired just fine and some had significant corrosion as I found them in a pond.
