  1. This is the other guy, not the one in this thread...kind of sad there are more than one threads about these killers.
  2. I though about it until I seen some of the proposed prices. I can get a new 1911 for those prices, and I have...twice. I'm not a collector, and since many of these will be refurbs and such, it held no interest to me unless they would have been priced half that amount, or less. CMP 1911 pricing: CMP has priced the 1911 type pistols at fair market value in accordance with CMP's enabling legislation. Service Grade $1050. Pistol may exhibit minor pitting and wear on exterior surfaces and friction surfaces. Grips are complete with no cracks. Pistol is in issuable condition. Pistols may contain commercial parts. Field Grade $950. Pistol may exhibit minor rust, pitting, and wear on exterior surfaces and friction surfaces. Grips are complete with no cracks. Pistol is in issuable condition. Pistols may contain commercial parts. Rack Grade $850. Pistol will exhibit rust, pitting, and wear on exterior surfaces and friction surfaces. Grips may be incomplete and exhibit cracks. Pistol requires minor work to return to issuable condition but is functional. Pistols may contain commercial parts. Auction Grade (Sales will to be determined by auctioning the pistol). The condition of the auction pistol will be described when posted for auction. Note: If you have already purchased a 1911 from CMP you will not be allowed to purchase an auction 1911. If you purchase an auction 1911, your name will be pulled from the sequenced list. No repeat purchasers are allowed until all orders received have been filled. Pistols may contain commercial parts. All pistols are inspected and test fired by the CMP. The shipping cost is included in the price.
  3. I was told that the dogs, early on, were following each other instead of the perp, but I figured by now they would put one or two of the best trackers on him. With the morning dew, it may effect them, pro or con, so I'm not sure what happened.
  4. Pretty much, I would not worry about it though. I've had mine for years (braces), and have taken them to the range and hunting, nobody has batted an eye.
  5. Apparently there were sightings, and one was an officer...which makes me wonder what happened there, I figured a tracking dog would pick him up pretty fast if they know where he passed.
  6. Man, I just hope they had the right address on this one.
  7. I wonder if it was rifle fire? Seems a rather big discrepancy in hits between the good guys and bad guy. Hope they tagged the BG a few times.
  8. Yea, but it's a leash, and an illegal tax which I won't submit myself to. I take the time to research and keep links/copies handy for cya purposes.
  9. Most of those braces have been through ATF scrutiny and have been deemed "Not a Stock". There had been an ATF opinion letter that said shouldering them was illegal, a subsequent letter seemed to say that was not the case. So currently, you may shoulder a brace and as long as no modifications are made to the brace, they remain legal. Of course this may change in the future, as the ATF seems to change their opinions with every different guy in charge.
  10. Well, at least he had something going for him
  11. It's the freaking Russians I tell you, they're trying to infiltrate our gun sites.
  12. Did you say stinker? Are we back to Greg's boat? Oh wait, where's my darn glasses.
  13. Russia can see the moon, they can verify or dispute the things that were left up there, why have they not announced to the world that nothing is up there. The mirror that was setup by that crew can today still be used to bounce lasers off it. Hard to dispute that.
  14. Yes, we get both here; pallets vs packages etc. The point is that the guns may have been divided up after leaving the distro facility, so it's easier to steal them there.
  15. Don't blame him one bit.
  16. Well sure, because after that they would of been divied up in those brown trucks.
  17. I know it's legal up there, but dang man.
  18. That's pretty dang close to my hunting area, the ferry sighting puts him on that side of the river. There are a few unoccupied dwellings around there, I hope they check them out.
  19. I was raised in Co, went all over. My Godfather worked for the railroad as a welder so he would be moved to many a small town, he is retired now and lives in Blanca. I hunted a few areas where he had been living, mostly private property but a few of the National Parks as well. As a kid, I would lead a few out of towners to the elk herds, I would earn some good money that way, and since a few didn't want the meat, I had plenty of that as well. Just got back from Denver where my mom still lives, I would not move back there, no how, no way. Maybe out to one of the non tourist towns, but not any city. I almost retired in the Co Springs area, was headed out there but the unit here had priority, don't know if that was a good thing or not.
  20. I would think no, it must have been a shipment to a distributor or a large LGS.
  21. Inside job, somebody knew those weapons were there.
  22. I agree, some were purchased at a much higher price than they were possibly worth so now there is no way to even get close to the purchase price. I have a Smith and Wesson M&P Flattop that I have at least $1000 in, nothing special about it, and there is no way I can begin to sell it for what it will sell for, but, many suffer from the upgrade syndrome, the price tries to break even on all the upgrades. I'm not an upgrade junky, or a brand snob so those prices do not attract me, This is a buyers market, specially for ARs, I would be getting what you have always wanted now, before prices pick back up.
