  1. Sorry to hear about that, I try and not leave any weapons in the vehicle overnight, just in case.
  2. I don't see why he should cancel, it just makes it a tactic for those to wish to disrupt our lives.
  3. One of the very reasons I started looking into casting my own. All these restrictions on legal ammo irritate me, if the round itself is legal, why is it higher priced for civilians (contracts and bulk purchases not withstanding), if the ammo is over the counter, there should be no qty restrictions whatsoever.
  4. I have to disagree a bit here; most atrocities against Jews are committed by atheists or Muslims, who barely recognize Jesus as a mere profit and don't even believe he was crucified. http://www.catholicdigest.com/from-the-magazine/outside-perspectives/what-does-islam-believe-about-jesus-and-his-death/ No, there has to be some other reasoning to the hatred; I speculate that it's just a feud that has been going for eons and nobody truly knows why anymore.
  5. It's a single axle, and in a fully equipped garage, I thought it would be more difficult, but it turned out to be quite simple. If it has been sometime between maintenance, or as in the case of my first boat trailer, years of salt water use, it can be rather difficult, though.
  6. Never had that issue, but I suppose it's possible. I would normally squirt grease into them until a bunch would come out the backside, about once a year I'd repack them though. Now that I don't use the trailer as much, it's longer intervals but will do it if taking it on a longish trip.
  7. It's really not that hard, did mine in 30 minutes or so, and that was packing the grease in by hand. Those little gizmos like from harbor freight and other places can make it less messy. And bearing buddies are worth their weight in gold IMHO.
  8. Not an isolated incident, many times an areas shops, restaurants and bars receive hundreds, to thousands of customers they did not anticipate they struggle to keep consumables on hand,
  9. Truthfully, I had the same concern back when I got my first CCW permit, especially with some of the high profile gun mag writers putting that out left and right. But after decades of experience, anecdotal evidence, and many online discussions I've had, I've come to the conclusion that it's not something I'm going to worry about.
  10. I call BS on the lawyer, if it is a true self defense shooting, the ammo will not matter unless you have mercury tips or something. There are thousands reloading their own, and haven't, as of yet, heard anyone get prosecuted over an SD with reloads. If it's a bad shoot, sure they can throw anything against the wall, but I highly doubt they can show a reload is any more or less lethal. If that were the case, they could argue that shooting someone with anything bigger than 9mm is overkill.
  11. I reload 90% or more of my ammo, so I bought a few boxes when they were available. When I run out, I'll likely get some Hornady Action Pistol (HAP) bullets to reload if I can't find GDs. But Gold Dots will probably be available again, I just bought some for my .277WLV which were until now only available as pulls. I also have a few molds for some cast bullets that seem to perform well.
  12. We discussed this some time back, the consensus was that it was BS. This video pretty much sums it up.
  13. The open end is to draw air in, so it could mix in the tube and ignite at the end. Venturi burner is the name they are given I believe, there are a bunch of different plans on the net, I had thought I had found the simplest, and cheap, burner until I seen this in a video. Really can't get much simpler than this, and it apparently works great.
  14. I've been a fan of gold dots for years, but honestly I carry whatever I have reloaded at the time, even lead cast. Most any bullet will do just fine in an SD situation, as long as you place the rounds where you want them.
  15. The burner is the part that can be as complicated as you want to make it, I've recently came across one that is easy, and cheap. And best of all just works. This pic show 2, with a welded bracket but can just be one or two self standing burners. Frosty T burner http://www.blacksmither.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/T-Burner-Directions-finished-1.pdf
  16. A coal, or charcoal fired forge would be cheap to make, plenty of videos on YouTube.
  17. The radiant heat should work, even in a ladder stand. The larger one should hang easy enough, not sure of the smaller one, my smaller one has a wire handle, but it hangs awkwardly, be kind of hard to get it aimed right.
  18. I started with one like that, but mine was loud, but the noise and smell didn't seem to bother the deer. My stand was more enclosed, but the windows were opened constantly and the stand was not terribly airtight. But I moved to one of these and never regretted it, much warmer, runs quite and less danger of kicking it over. The ceramic burner really makes a difference. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Portable-Buddy-Heater-9K-Btu-Propane/14710768 They also have this one if that one seems too pricey, if the burner design is close to the one above it should be quieter. https://www.farmandhomesupply.com/mr-heater-little-buddy-indoor-propane-heater-f215100-mh4b.html
  19. That happens even among those that should have the means to be legal. my son had a hit and run, turned out the girl had purchased a vehicle, never transferred the registration and had no insurance. My son tracked her down via facebook, got all her info, name addresses (2), and parents names. Even after telling CPD all this, all that happened is the mom paid our insurance. No charges for the crash, no charges for attempting to run my son over, or for any of the registration insurance issues.
  20. Stationed at Fort Bragg, we heard about it, had to wait until COB to see some of the news footage.
  21. The pig was my first crewserve, when I'd do water crossings in deep or fast moving creeks/rivers, I'd use a dummy cord, there was no way I wanted to be responsible for a lost weapon. Three times, I was stuck looking for missing sensitive items, an M16, a Grease Gun, and a radio. The M16 (PLDC)and Grease Gun (82nd Rigger Facility)were the longest, someone tried to steal them and took a few days to crack them to find the missing weapons. The radio we found the next morning, it had fallen during a jump and it blended in so well you could not see it, even with nods.
  22. Yea, first blush was a big yellow dog.
  23. They get mad because they feel the laws don't apply to them. And like it is happening in TN, no consequences when breaking traffic laws, this will only get worse.
  24. I get what they are trying to do, but there needs to be limits on how many infractions a person can have. I watch Live PD, and though I'm sure they only show the "exciting" things, there are a bunch of people that have multiple like offenses, suspended licences, no insurance, dui, etc and of course they get stopped and they are drunk or have drugs on them. Do we really want people with no insurance on the roads?
