Small engines have it the worst, specially the lawn equipment that doesn't get used in wintertime. I use 100% gas in my mixed fuel equipment, and add stabil in straight gas engines. So far my power sprayer is the only damage so a carb rebuild is in it's future.

There is plenty of demand for 100% unleaded gas, it's just too expensive at the moment. I bet most that have small engine equipment would buy it if it was cheaper. But the .gov made it a law that gas would contain at least 10% renewable energy, and corn was the cheapest.
  3. No, they definitely denied they were here at all. There were pictures, a bit grainy, that they said were just large house cats, bob cats etc. It wasn't until they were caught on game cams that they had no choice but to acknowledge them. Now they are saying that "no population" line though.

Why not both? The cheaper the gas gets, the more I can afford the more expensive non-methanol gas.
  5. We had a slight dusting of snow here by Cumberland City, just enough to cover the top of my shooting bench, no other evidence it even happened. Hope the deer move today, before the heavy rain beds them down. I'd like to save one from being drenched today.

Drill baby, drill! The truth is that we did it to ourselves these past decades, with all the prohibitions against tapping into our vast oil supply. I also never understood why we didn't raise the price on refined fuel and other exported commodities when OPEC would lower supply.
  7. IDK, seems either (or both) the manager seen a divot in the cement or he doesn't know what a bullet looks like.
  8. Yea, the bullet fully opened, so it hit something solid, a table, chair..something besides the glass. All the petals seemed to be peeled back, but can't tell if the core is present or not, it may just be the jacket.
  9. Looks more like a ricochet, notice the star burst where it impacted the glass. It looks like it went through the first pane and got stopped by the second.
  10. Now, just wait until they decide to "adjust" for inflation!
  11. The shoestring in question was designed to mimic auto fire. It could have been any string, but they used a shoestring in the submitted request. The previous bumpstock had a spring, which was deemed mechanical so they changed their minds, the current one does not. I have used a sling to bumpfire a weapon, way back before any such product existed. But it was redundant since it had a selector switch to do it the right way. The way I see it, bumpfire is a method, not a product, The problem is, they will never give those taxes up.
  12. I would think that deer farms could get certified as CWD free, but until states like TN. start to ban the use, there aren't any getting certification.
  13. I usually only wait 5, maybe 10 minutes between shots, after I've zeroed my rifle. I've never had to adjust to the cold shot though, they've always been close, so far. That's a good idea for the laser thermometer though, hadn't thought about using it for that.
  14. I thought I'd resurrect this thread with an update. It seems TWRA, has went back to the old definition of antlered deer, 3" spikes or better, starting this 2018 season. And apparently, the regs will now be good for 2 seasons 18'-19'. Also changed but effective in July, is no deer urine scents will be allowed, only synthetic. I use scents, but not 100% convinced they work all that good, so no big deal for me, but I know a few guys like to put out mock scrapes, so it may affect them next year.
  15. According to a story I found, it is real, a standoff in which no shots fired, the guy gave up in the end. An era in which the reporters had to get out there and get the story.
  16. This happened in South Carolina, I'm not sure what the "upstate" is all about. I am not sure a Sherriff from NY, even upstate would advocate CWP.
  17. This is a prime example of why everyone needs to train with their weapon. The Sherriff stresses that women especially need to arm themselves, but I have to add that everyone needs to arm themselves because in cases like this, it may not matter if you are male or female. When startled in the middle of the night, one must be ready https://www.wyff4.com/article/escaped-inmate-in-upstate-shot-killed-by-homeowner-other-inmate-in-custody-chief-deputy-says/25392155
  18. Yea, that part may prove true, as to being charged for say, child endangerment, or whatever. But he would have to be convicted of a felony, unless the child endangerment happens to be a domestic violence charge.
  19. Not a lawyer, but I believe he would have to be proven to be under the influence for this to apply, though what "under the influence" means can be debated.
  20. There are many laws with the potential of being abused, and this is one of them. There is no process for the accused to mount a defense until his guns are already confiscated. And worse yet, as the case already mentioned, it puts the person in a potential life-and-death situation, before he is found guilty of anything. I say if there is enough cause to take someone's weapons, then there is enough cause to get the person locked up and evaluated. If the eval clears him, he should then be cleared of all charges, record expunged, and his property returned, if they even take it in the first place since he will be locked up with no access. It should not cost the accused a single cent to try and recover what is already his, that is just a BS feel good legislation with more negatives than positives IMO..
  21. He may be charged for the glass, but because he left, even if on video it would be hard to prove he was impaired. That happens quite often with DUI cases, they take off and when they are finally caught, they are no longer under the influence.
  22. Time to flood his office with emails and correspondence. It's bad enough that we have had "soft" Republicans sit on good pro-gun legislature, now they want to introduce this mess.
  23. Depending on the distance, and line of sight, the Blink cameras might work. They run on batteries, and they have outdoor units. $149 for two. https://blinkforhome.com/collections/outdoor-security-camera/products/blink-xt-two-camera-system
