  1. I have a couple, maybe three benchmarks, I like them but I doubt I get another. I don't care about their personal politics, but when they as a company act against mine, I'll not support them.
  2. I've hunted hog on a few occasions, always in the wild, no enclosure per se, but once I got one on a military base with a fence around it. Never had issues, even when I'd run into them in the open in GA. I'd like to hunt them locally, but I can wait until they come into my area if need be.
  3. Yea, that was my issue with it, they sent an email asking for us to contact our reps in support of this, but when I read the bill, it didn't sound like it did much for easing 2A restrictions.
  4. According to what I read in the bill, nothing new for the current permit, not even letting us skip the BG checks during new gun purchases. Well, maybe a new renamed physical permit.
  5. So, they are trying to pass House Bill 1264 which creates a new Concealed (only) Carry Permit and makes the current one an "Enhanced" Permit. I think this is a crock of excrement, why not just pass a constitutional carry law instead? Seems like it's a $$ grab, or/and a bone to throw out there to keep/garner our support. Am I missing something? Second issue, so you guys may or may not of heard that SCOTUS has just accepted a 2A case which may have major implications, hopefully, it will go our way. But you know what...not one peep from the NRA, only GOA sent info on it and TFA, which lent it's support to GOA, yet they sent me an email urging support for this law. I'm fixing to start bombarding the NRA with emails and phone calls to see why they aren't stepping into the ring. They should be busy backing each and every case which can, and should, land with SCOTUS. Like this one: https://www.kansas.com/news/politics-government/article126014949.html
  6. A .380 in the hand, beats a 50 Cal in the truck. With modern ammo, familiarity and training, a .380 can be a formidable SD weapon. Would I choose it, probably not, but only because my 40 has been my SD weapon for over 30 years. But if clothing or carry location forces you into a small frame gun, .380 isn't as bad as all that.
  7. Never owned one, but I'd not let these idiots deter me from wearing one.
  8. You got to give them a pass on that one, they are silencers. Maxim named them that, there was/is a push to change it because they don't really silence the report, just suppress it.
  9. There are a cou This guy is an idiot, he must be trying to get funding for research, or selling a book. In the over 60 years that we have known about CWD, there has been 0 evidence that it has crossed the species barrier. Thats not to say it needs to be taken lightly, as it is very detrimental to the herd, and hunting. But fear mongering for the sake of it, IMHO, is as detrimental as the disease itself. If in 60 years it hasn't shown itself, chances are slim that it will. Of course, mutations and susceptibility to a specific strain of prion can possibly become an issue, such as mad cow and those unlucky few that got infected, so we must stay vigilant, but we also needn't get so scared of it that unnecessary steps are taken
  10. This has gone from 0 to over 163, affecting 8 counties (last # I've heard about) in one season. That may be the fastest jump yet, well beyond the number of positives, of other States. https://www.tn.gov/twra/hunting/cwd.html
  11. This was a black on white crime, nothing to see here. It has been covered here in TN, but the MSM has not picked it up because it does not support their agenda, otherwise they would sensationalize it like they did Treyvon Martin and Michael Brown.
  12. Looks like you have 5.56 pretty well covered, so I would go with the AR-9, they are a blast to shoot. I got the entire upper from PSA, similar to this one, under 3 when it was on sale. https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-pa-9-gen4-10-5-9mm-1-10-nitride-12-slanted-m-lok-railed-upper-with-bcg-ch-5165450304.html
  13. While he may have stopped at the wife, luckily we will never know due to this permit holder doing his part.
  14. Precursor to the current boresnakes, nothing new under the sun.
  15. Man, glad she walked away from that. How far off the road is that? Looks like she went deep into those woods.
  16. IDK, I've been using a standard military cleaning kit for some time. I have a gamut of solvents and lubes, don't really have a favorite, they all seem to work ok, but I'm not in extreme weather/environments anymore. I do have a couple bore snakes, which work good for an expedient bore cleaning, but that is only when I don't want/need the cleaning rod. Now for my pellet rifle, I did get a one piece rod, the military one wouldn't fit the .177 bore.
  17. I was a bit bored with it. Writers are getting lazy and not writing a complete episodes, too much time spent following one character (Negan last night), which is doing nothing. They could have at least had some excitement or surprising events happen to the character, but no, just run of the mill scenes.
  18. I use the fishing lure boxes, they come in a variety of sizes and prices. I purchased a fishing bag which comes with these, I keep all of them in there until I need to use them, one for my black powder weapons, another for standard rifles and guns. https://www.academy.com/shop/browse/outdoors/fishing/tackle-storage/tackle-binders--utility-boxes

    Air Rifles

Actually, they do benefit the air rifle as some are quite noisy without it. I have a .177 air rifle that is almost as loud as a .22 firearm, I am definitely interested in getting a rifle with built in silencer to be able to dispatch pesky squirrels without letting the rest know.
  20. What part of Texas? I've been out there, will probably go back sooner or later.
  21. Right? I wonder if Bill Lee is paying attention???
  22. Looks like the forerunner to the wienermobile.
  23. Need to stop peeing in the pool I guess. I take it that man was responsible for all those hot jungles in prehistoric times as well, or did those Flintstone cars emit greenhouse gas too? On a lighter note, I'm glad hunting season is over, 17* would have been hard to hunt in, and I would.
  24. You know, I'm ok with TN sales taxes. TN does not have a State Income Tax, so they have to get their revenue somehow. I wish the Feds would go that route as well, and I also wish the surrounding States would do so as well, much of our sales tax revenue crosses into the border states that are lower, if even just a little bit. I must admit, I shop KY when I can, because it is lower and it is so close, though I do make it a point to just do it for high ticket items. or when I am buying enough to make the trip worth it..
