  1. We have been shooting lead for...well at least since the 1700s, hell there are battlefields full of lead slugs all over the US due to our insurrection and the whole N v S thing. Heck, didn't they almost wipe out the buffaloes, and those were just left to rot, and still the condor, and other birds, survived. If lead was such an issue, they would have gone extinct by now, it's NOT the bullets, it's probably ingested from naturally occuring lead on the ground when they swallow small rocks for their gizzards. Look at the areas they are reporting "lead" issues, then look at maps showing where they mine it. I melt down wheel weights to make bullets, as many others do, and there are no reported issues. My blood levels are fine, but then I don't eat it.
  2. The more I read about this the more I am against it. I am not pleased that this will be written as a defence to being armed, it should not be a crime to carry in this state, period. If you are prohibited, then it should be a crime. Also, if my kids from out of state come to visit, they will still be arrested if they carry, WTF? If they pass this, it will be a cold day in hell before they pass an actual Constitutional Carry law.
  3. Well, I now own a collectors item, a Jennings .22 one shot semi-auto.
  4. I disagree, anything that makes it more difficult, or more expensive to shoot impacts the 2nd Amendment. Make no mistake, they are after your guns, even if they have to take them a piece at a time. When they outlaw lead for hunting, outdoor target shooting is right behind it, then indoor ranges etc. How many birds eat in indoor ranges, according to CA, it must be a bunch of them. With outlawing lead, and taxing ammo they have found a workaround to demolish the 2A, they are making guns expensive paperweights.
  5. One must do what one is comfortable with, but I for one refuse to play the "what if" game. If the ATF decides to change their mind later, I'll wait until lawsuits are settled *before I decide if I become a criminal or continue to follow the law, but for now I will enjoy them. * The bumpstock ban screwed a bunch who got rid of theirs, but now ATF says they don't have the authority to ban them. And too, quite possibly, the FA Reformation folks.
  6. I like it; does it have last round hold open (PSA one doesn't)? That is not a big deal to me as it's just a fun plinker, but I suppose it can have it's merit in an SD event. Also, "they" seem to be listening, I just got a Rural King ad with this one: https://www.rkguns.com/freedom-ordnance-fx-9-9mm-semi-automatic-33rd-8-25-ar-pistol-0254453.html
  7. Buy at PSA, much cheaper that way and they are pretty decent. They are fun to shoot, and 9mm ammo is currently cheap to buy and reload. I bought this one https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-gen4-10-5-9mm-1-10-lightweight-m-lok-moe-sob-ept-pistol-5165449802.html Keep an eye on the daily deals, which normally makes up for shipping and transfer fees.
  8. The injuries were more akin to concussions, so headaches and blurred vision a day or two later. The reports started to come in that a few needed further tests so were sent back to better facilities. Now, it's a bit late to start saber rattling, so sanctions will have to do.
  9. It's hard to speculate about the crash, there are many possibilities and without more information it is all a guess. But, I do wonder about the comment you made as to the pilots experience. Isn't it like in other areas, that it's sometimes the fact that a persons experience is such that they get complacent and trust their knowledge more than the instruments and or make simple mistakes, such as not setting MSL before flight? I've seen it mentioned many times in other areas, such as reloading, where this is known to happen, and feel it may be the same for flying.
  10. Well, considering their audience, 46% is pretty darn good. I wonder what the numbers would look like on a neutral site...if there are any left.
  11. Which speaks volumes of our (society at large) priorities. We hold the lives of celebrities, who do nothing but entertain us, on a pedestal while we hardly knowledge those who lay their lives on the line for our way of life. But that is ok, speaking for me, I did not do it for idolization or even gratitude but for my own sense of patriotism. But I refuse to pander to the masses that insist on holding these people in such high regard. I'll acknowledge their death, and wish their family well, but that is as far as I'll go.
  12. Posting this to see if we can turn this around. http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/poll-do-you-think-people-should-be-allowed-carry-guns-public
  13. We know this now, but the statement was "No mention of another player but that would be even more terrible", which is what I was responding to. None the less, sad, even sadder that the headlines seem to all mention "Kobe Bryant, his 13 yo daughter, and 7 others" as if the rest don't matter, which @FUJIMO was eluding to in the first place.
  14. Yea, had forgotten about that. But I still think he was in the news less often than many of these other sports figures. Even so, I'm sure none of the talking heads will care either way, they will just hold him up on a pedestal like all celebs.
  15. 71 AMC Javelin SST, similar to this one except had white pinstripes.
  16. How? It's terrible when there is loss of life, no matter who it is. Nothing against you personally, many people are the same way, but I get tired of holding celebrities higher than regular people when they die. I'm not a Bball fan, but at least this wasn't one of those trouble making individuals we hear about in the news, and I'm sure we will be hearing about this the whole week if not longer. I sure hate to hear his daughter was with him, it is sure to be heartbreaking for the mother..
  17. PayPal doesn't like guns, but usually allows gun accessories, I would report it to both services, PayPal and Google pay, and let them investigate.
  18. In TN, you can be fired for breaking company rules. Unless you are seeking to push the issue, and ready to lose your job, I would not do it. I work on Fort Campbell, and am also disarmed, but I like my job so..
  19. No fireball because that is what got his attention, then he started recording. He continued until it hit the ground, just before impact, you can see a secondary explosion, probably a fuel tank. In the link above, all you can see is the impact of the rocket into the engine, so no fire is recorded there. The person that recorded that one, states there were two rockets, the first one got him to record the second. Like I said, it is certainly possible it is fake, but also very possible they are genuine. In some of the photos, you can see holes, from the outside, which may have been caused by the rocket, or the engine coming apart. If/when the black boxes get examined, then they will confirm the rocket strike.
  20. Purported to show the missile strike. https://disrn.com/news/video-shows-moment-iranian-missile-hit-boeing-737-airliner
  21. The fireball caught his eye, then he started recording. I may agree if he had caught the missile strike, but there are countless youtubes where something was caught at just the right time so even then I might give it a pass.
  22. They want to stay in power, so they will be careful to not get into a direct war with the US. They will still train and arm proxies, of that you can be sure but no direct action. The populace is getting mighty tired of shortages and the government, so it will not take much to have their "Arab Spring" moment, TPTB know this and will walk that fine line.
  23. The rockets probably didn't have any warheads in them, they just did not cause enough damage to of had any significant amount of payload. They also did not hit anything of tactical value, and they warned enough people to make sure we got the word before the strike; so this was a feint the whole way.
  24. Overthinking it. In a crowded room, there will be a "bubble" of people that have direct knowledge of events as they transpire. If the shooter had not been taken out as fast as he was, there would have been enough armed people that could identify and challenge the shooter. There is always a chance of friendly fire, no doubt, but what is the alternative, giving free rein to a shooter while LEO shows up and has the same exact friendly fire scenario too?
