  1. I am all for early warning, specially for high winds and tornados, but it seems that the weather people cream their shorts when this stuff develops. They take over programing and keep repeating over and over their dire warnings about the possibility of damaging weather conditions for what seems like hours. It gets to the point where you start to ignore the information, even when you are in the supposed path. I would much rather they come in during a commercial, do their spiel, then go away, or drop it to a corner of the screen like some do. I get it, job security and all, but there has to be a happy medium. During tornado warnings, I can see going at it full bore, but when it's just a watch they need to back off a little.
  2. A couple of good downpours and nothing else here, not even a rumble I could discern.
  3. I guess it would suck if you are one of the few that complied and destroyed theirs.
  4. I am not against having these classes available in school, as electives, so the parents and children can have the opportunity to learn some gun safety. Heck, I would like to see more outdoor related school courses made available to kids. Much better than some of the courses they are now made to take. That doesn't take away the responsibility of the parents/family, it bolsters the efforts of those that choose to do so, and gives the ones that probably don't know themselves the opportunity to let their kids get that education.
  5. It is dangerous when you move to contact, but if already in the kill zone, having the means to return fire sure can't hurt.
  6. If I get what you are saying right, then yes, I believe that if he didn't do anything criminal to get his rights revoked then he should have been able to buy the rifle, again legally, as we haven't been told the exact nature of the sale. It is unfortunate that people go all unhinged sometimes, and wish there were some way to prevent it before it happens, but disarming everyone is not the way. It is arguable that there could have been less victims had someone had a weapon or weapons on hand to take him down before LEO did, but there apparently had nothing to fight back with.
  7. After 2020 is this so hard to believe? I hope this is beyond them, I really do, but you know, it wouldn't take much to make me believe it. Coincidences happen, but so many coincidences so often??
  8. In Special Ops we had a bunch of live fire, heck in our assessment course we fired hundreds of rounds a day. We are the "Tip of the Spear" and still have stupid incidents, so training doesn't prevent stupidity. But we are not talking about folks that will carry a gun for a living here, we are talking allowing people to exercise their rights to self defense. Nobody has to ask permission to post stupid things on the internet, even though many will see legal and life altering consequences due to it, including those under 18. If we were discussing having a licence to post on a forum or other social media many would, rightly, be up in arms about it.
  9. 2020 sure wasn't a "stay at home" year for some killers. But I too can honestly say that I don't recall most of these, probably only covered locally and a blurb by national MSM. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mass_shootings_in_the_United_States_in_2020 2020 date City State Dead Injured Total Description September 7 Aguanga California 7 0 7 A shooting at a large marijuana grow house left seven people dead.[185] June 4 Valhermoso Alabama 7 0 7 Shortly before midnight authorities responded to a home fire. 10. Yea, I am sure no 18 yo soldiers will die due to supervision, smfh. https://spacecoastdaily.com/2018/05/vietnam-veterans-memorial-totals-58267-names-including-33103-18-years-old/ https://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/cnsnews-database-104-women-33-18-year-olds-among-iraq-wars-casualties
  11. For those that wish to get or keep their permit, sure, why not. But there should be no prerequisites for anyone 18 or over to be able to exercise their inalienable rights. If the Government wants the age to be 21, so be it, but everything else should go to 21 as well, including serving in the military. Seems to me if someone is old enough to die for their country, then they are old enough to carry a weapon for self defense.
  12. And that is how it should be, when I got my permit, I went to a class to see what they would cover, legality wise, even though I could have used my military training to avoid the class. I do believe that those who are inexperienced with weapons seek training, but that should be up to an individual to make that decision.
  13. Yea no, I wouldn't either. I usually follow the law as much as possible, whether I agree with it or not, but that doesn't mean I won't decry them when I find out about them.
  14. Yes, I know, but it doesn't take away the fact that it's BS. I can understand not exporting tech, but WTF are they protecting when they prohibit viewing through one? If that is the case just about every gun owning foreigner, as well as YouTube poster has broken the law with all those videos of night hunting.
  15. Seems like a bunch of BS, I know for a fact that we train many a foreigner, under NVGs, here in the US and abroad.
  16. Don't know about the price, but I think it is a bipod under it, it lists it as an accessory. Looking at their prices, it seems they are trying to get some of this buying craziness.
  17. You would be surprised, a TX trip is not all that expensive as long as you stay away from the high fence places, and NV has some inexpensive options out there, at least until the bug bites and you go for a more expensive option. https://smile.amazon.com/Sumger-Infrared-Cameras-Riflescope-Portable/dp/B07BS42JLG
  18. I am all in favor of legalizing weed, but I think in this case, she also had a baggie full of some powder, he pulled a second bag out after he laid the first on his dash. But, it is currently illegal to have weed, and this was not the place to argue the validity of the arrest for an illegal substance, I am willing to bet that if the weed was all he found, he would have let her slide with a warning and confiscation of the drugs. She would be alive today with either nothing, a ticket, or a trial if she would not have reacted in the manner she did.
  19. I think most mandates had some medical loopholes in it, but that won't stop those that want to mask-shame non wearers. I just smirk and walk away when confronted by those ignorant people, and because I am not wearing a mask, they can see the smirk.
  20. Do you agree with the MSM putting forth the accusation that the US Military is responsible for the massage parlors here in the US? The sex industry has been around since Adam and Eve if you lean that way, and massage parlors, while a big part of it, isn't all about sex. There are quite a few spas that are legit places, otherwise they would not be allowed to get licenced. I'll give you that probably the majority of the asian places either do offer sexual services or at least lead some to think so, to get clients into their establishment. And though this particular guy was as you guys are putting it, a young, white, religious, gun-totin killer, I dare say MOST of us do not harbor any good feelings toward this guy, but you and I both know they will try and use this to paint ALL of us gun owners with that brush, even those of us who are not technically what they call white, religious, or killers (war not included).
  21. Unfortunately no, they will sue and the government will settle. It's a win-win for these people, live and they sue, die and their family sues no matter how good the shoot was. The only upside is there is one less of them to to continue their criminal endeavours.
  22. I personally don't see ANY unconstitutional actions, none. He pulled over a vehicle that was flagged as belonging to someone with warrants. Once stopped, and seen who was driving, he still had to make contact with the driver. She jumped right out of the vehicle once stopped, not smart, and usually shows there may be an issue in the vehicle. It does not show how he confirms he was not in the car, just him saying it. Her fumbling around in her purse, is IMO, a no-go, that is probably when she removed the gun from her purse; he asks what she took out. Then he finds the pot, so from that point on she is not going anywhere, he calls for the female officer. She keeps going into her car, and if not for the anti cop atmosphere, he would have taken control of her and cuffed her then and there. But no, she gets back into her purse, and when he says she will be arrested all hell broke loose.
  23. Ha, thanks for the heads up, must of either fat fingered it or the infamous autocorrect did its thing.
  24. Decent price, I would get some but that is more than I would want right now, I'd take about 100lbs of it though.
  25. Used Turbo Tax this year and it worked rather well. I was able to use the free version, though it tried to get me to upgrade to take advantage of a $2 foreign tax credit...yea, No! Funny thing was, it said I owe TN some money, not much just $12, but didn't even know I had to file a TN form, though it said the tax is expiring this year.
