I agree with most of the above, but I honestly don't keep buying manuals. At first, they are great as they step you through the process of reloading, but the load data does not change much, if at all. There are upteen official sites from bullet and powder manufacturers that you can always get updated load data. As far as supplies, they are out there, though the price is not pleasant. If this shortage issue continues, the market and entrepreneurs will find a way. Right now, there is an uptick on reloading primers, making your own black powder, and many are switching to PCP rifles to forgo all the primer, brass and powder issues.

It is all the same caliber, regardless of the headstamp. Reman companies use whatever available brass they can get, which usually makes the ammo less than optimum due to some cases having less case capacity (thicker brass), but no real affect on plinking accuracy. While I also feel he should not have testified, many legal talking heads seem to think it was necessary to prove his claim of self defense. I think it is done on purpose, if laws were easy to read, lawyers and judges would be less needed. Besides, laws are sometimes written by politicians (or special interest groups) with little to no concept of law.

While I am inclined to agree, there are caveats which would not only have you ignoring these rules, but actively go against them. One is when you use sims, and another is when shooting (no pun intended) movies. But because you are ignoring these rules, you need to have a safety plan in place which will mitigate the danger of doing so. When I participated in some hostage rescue training, both as a hostage and a hostage taker, we were well briefed on the weapons and projectiles that would be hitting us (in the case of being a terrorist, and once as a hostage) and issued PPE to protect us from the sims. All weapons were checked, and double checked with no live ammo anywhere near the training areas because all weapons were real. In movies, there are scenes that would have you actively ignoring these rules as well, and as I hear and read more about this, there are safety rules that should keep everyone safe. But apparently these rules are not always followed, as we have in this case, the Lee case, and a few others I have read about.

John Schneider explains many of the on set procedures, which I am sure are part of most, but apparently not all sets. I, at first, gave him the benefit of the the doubt, because frankly I did not know how things work on set. I was under the impression that the gun wrangler would be the last safety check, and that the actors would not be expected to know how to perform a rudimentary safety check on a weapon. But like John Schneider says in the video, safety briefings are conducted showing actors and other set personnel the weapons, real or not, are safe. And how to confirm that they still are when they get them.

No shot, no mask, and not folding to the mandate. These decisions should be made by each individual based on their health or any other reason they see fit. I do wish there was more truthful information that could be trusted so an informed decision could be made, but unfortunately every single governmental alphabet agency has lost my trust in doing even that.

I was under the same misunderstanding of procedures until I watched a few seasoned actors say that they, the actors, are supposed to check the weapon, and, if it includes pointing it at anyone, then that person also checks it.

21 years in the Army, retired then 17 as a Logistician, first running three military aviation units as their property manager (Supply guy), 1 year working for John Deere, then back to the same contract issuing flight gear, and now managing their fuel accounts.
