  1. Yea, I've heard that but never seen any sign of them or heard of anyone say they dropped one. They also used to be shotgun, BP only so range was an issue if you did see one. I bought a magazine fed rifled SG when I hunted FTCKY, now it just sits here collecting dust.
  2. The problem is, some say leave me alone I dont need your services then things like this happen and people are all up in arms because nobody helped. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/10/04/firefighters-watch-as-hom_n_750272.html Though I don't think this guy was an anarchist or isolationist the situation fits this situation.
  3. Try casting your own; its not that difficult. http://www.webcomsknkwrks.com/castbook.htm
  4. I agree about them not being mutually inclusive; but has there been any white kids running around doing things like this lately? Whether attacking other white kids or black ones? I don't recall any, but of course it depends on the news coverage to broadcast the incidents for me to be aware of them. And sorry, but it does baffle me as to why the reaction to this particular incident bothers you so much; is it because of the black/white mix or is it the disparaging comments about Memphis?
  5. Well then, never mind.
  6. yea, looking forward to it myself. I like Bass-Pro in Nashville but seldom do I find any good prices and the tax kills any I do find; so it may offer a good compromise.
  7. I think you have to remember something when you look at outsiders looking at Memphis the way they do. You, being black, have a different experience in Memphis than say a white man living in the same community. I grew up in a predominately Hispanic community where I fit right in so crime though prevalent never quite affected me or my family (much). If I ever found myself in a non-Hispanic area I was smart enough to know how I was perceived and didn't take offence if I was followed in a store by security. By default I was profiled due to the fact that it was mostly Hispanics doing the crimes, I didn't then nor do I now take offence when I get a second glance when in those areas. But my experience was probably very different than some of my friends that had to watch their backs constantly when in my hood; it is what it is. Edit: Apparently I was mistaken of your race; which just baffles the heck out of me on your stance now. I am going to re-read this thread to see if I missed an even more glaring fact which led me to this conclusion.
  8. Welcome to the site and my neck of the woods. There are a few LGS around here and a rather large one out in KY, called Whittaker Guns though I don't see a 6.5 Creedmoor in their inventory.
  9. Looks good to me, I'll test it with this post and see if it adds a "follow" entry to mine. Edit: yes, it added it to mine. You may want to try and change it to another setting, say "offline" save it, then change it back and see if it hasn't just been a corrupt setting in your profile.
  10. Well then, carry on.
  11. I think the problem stems from the fact that anytime its a white on black incident the news and race baiters are all over it, but when its the other way around not a peep from those that make such a big deal over even the smallest incident. Personally, I could care less what the color of the assailant was, they would get the same treatment from me even if it sparked a backlash because it happened to be someone of a different race than I. I am in a particularly precarious situation because if I would happen to be assaulted by a black I am considered white, if I get assaulted by a white I am considered a minority so I'll just let the jury figure it out.
  12. Somewhere in the settings some forums have a setting where anything you reply to automatically gets "followed", it may of been reset or separated during an update or something; look in your profile settings. Edit: Yes, look under "my settings" then "Notification Options", there you can set that to either way you want.
  13. Did you use the "Follow this thread" button; Or just reply? If just reply it wont show up under the "content I follow", it will show up under "my content".
  14. Meh,idealists make me shake my head. The only way for these people to exist is for a larger society to allow them to exist. As an anarchist society you have to be able to self sustain and in this day and age its impossible. Even some isolationist societies such as the Amish have to use some of our facilities which IMO they are not entitled to due their tax free status.
  15. This premise has always made me laugh; if this was the case somewhere in some corner of the universe there would be a society where this would exist but throughout history its always some sort of governance that has provided for the good of that society. While the forms of government can be debated as to which is better its hard to say that an anarchist society would provide roads, hospitals etc when none have done so yet.
  16. IMHO doing that just punishes those that are like us, 2A supporters. Those that make policy do not care that their citizens are not allowed to carry here or anywhere; The only reason they allow cc is because SCOTUS made them. I say make it as easy as possible for 2A supporters here and show the rest of the states how its done.
  17. That is what I am saying, just because we have not achieved total victory over those that wish us harm is no reason to stay back and let them do what they want. The US has not always been a utopian society, but the freedoms we enjoy have been paid for in sweat and blood and will continue to exact that price if we are to keep them. Whether that price is paid on US soil or foreign soil is the question as is which blood will pay the principle and which will pay the interest.
  18. Not all of them are dead, and not all reside in Afghanistan, or Saudi Arabia. What those who planned and executed 911 have to do with Iraq is the mentality. If we could guarantee that they would stay in their own borders I may be inclined to agree with you. But they won't, sooner or later they will plan and execute another attack. Boston, DC, LA, NY, who knows but I would rather take them out before we find out. Though it is flesh and blood we destroy, its the mentality of those people that needs to be defeated for that is what may ultimately succeed in making that attack in the US.
  19. Nah, its like when you argue with your brother/sister. Only you are allowed to argue with them, any outsiders will be punished!
  20. No means? Thousands in the towers would beg to differ. The point is, we dont declare that x country needs to be erased off the map and everyone converted or dead.
  21. Nah, annihilate them before they step one foot on US soil; better if its done outside 12 nautical miles to keep the trash in international waters. The way I think is that we obliterate any terrorist organization that declares they want to do us harm, that will give the next ones pause before they declare that publicly. In Iraq, as they announced a new leader we would target him, after a few replacements they stopped announcing new leaders. A bit slow but they learn.
  22. He had WMD, he used WMD, and refused to allow inspections to confirm he no longer had them. My best guess is that it traveled via highway 1 to Syria days before the invasion. He thumbed his nose at the sanctions by selling oil for "humanitarian" needs and using the money for his own purposes with full knowledge of the UN. Personally, I liked Bush, but would of went to Iraq even if, gag, Clinton or Obama had sent us in.
  23. I called about mine and the lady on the phone said the same thing. I sent mine off 10 June, they received it 13 June so 12 weeks puts it at tomorrow if you only count weekdays otherwise its over due.
  24. I had a situation a few years ago with a Game Warden who charged me for hunting over bait when I was not hunting at all. I refused to plea it down and it cost me more to be found guilty than to of just pled to reduced charges. I defended others rights in the military for 21 years, I'd be danged if I would just give mine away. Others may think differently but I think it was worth it to uphold my convictions even if it cost me more in the end. Even though I feel I was unjustly convicted, I am out a rifle, paid for an attorney (Over $1000 in all)and lost a year of hunting privileges I didn't parade around like a lunatic. And carrying a weapon during my protest would of made more sense than for a DUI. If he was unjustly railroaded to accept a plea deal he should of chosen the deal that still allowed him to fly if that was what he was worried about. Its not like he didn't plea deal at all and was found guilty anyway.
