  1. Because he is a muslim and we don't want to disparage him.
  2. Not so, spray lube works great for rifle cases (bottle neck).  I place a few in a baggy and give it a spray or two and roll them around, after sizing or forming I place them back in the tumbler.
  3. I have such a supply of lubes, cleaners and protectants that I rarely use any for other than their intended purpose unless that is all I have in the range box. I of course would try some of these products for things they are not intended for if I don't have something specific for that purpose. Use it, but keep an eye on it to see how it does against rust and metal wear.
  4. In my searches I have found that Clarksville only has a noise ordinance: ordinance 10-2012-13, while Montgomery County has codes related to discharging firearms in parks and other codes which have been proposed having to do with range operations.  While I don't think there would be any issue using your air rifle in your back yard, it would not hurt calling the Sheriffs dept and/or Clarksville PD to be totally legal.
  5. Clarksville has some large tracts of land that I have been told are legal to hunt, rifle and all. But I have not seen anything in writing, I have, allegedly, used my pellet rifle in my back yard and it's not even an acre. Edit: speeling
  6. Ah, yes; it was California courts that ruled that way..of all places.
  7. Hadn't SCOTUS already ruled against needing to demonstrate a need to carry?
  8. I have actually seen reports like this for the past few years, with ballistic gel comparisons and everything.  I for one like my .40 and am glad it was developed but have no dilutions that I am carrying any magic bullets.  I try and shoot 9mm, .40, and .45 when I can to make sure I can hit the target.  Heck I even shoot my .22 target pistol as much as I can.  Modern ammunition has leveled the field when it come to handguns, and it falls back to what ever you are more proficient in and what can be comfortably carry.  I am highly proficient in .45 but don't like carrying my 1911 so I go with my .40s since they are compact enough.  If I get a compact .45 in the future that I can carry, I'll add it to the rotation.
  9. The square is just a bit of hardware (one of many), someone in the gun industry needs to open and run a gun friendly banking service with an app that can use the square or any other pay device.  Once banks see how much business they are losing out on they will sing a different tune.
  10. If you have the need to hold a bow for that long, you buy a crossbow.  If the K9 units could not go from relaxed in a vehicle to chase/bite mode then LE would not rely on them as much as they do..just saying.   Any K9 officers here?  I am sure you guys can shed some light on this subject.
  11. No, I get you and I know exactly how dogs work I had the pleasure of wearing a bite suit and seeing and feeling up close and personal what it takes to get them to take someone down. I have seen many military service dogs on duty, both here in the US and overseas, though I am not privy to what they go through beforehand I can tell you that they go from relaxed to attack mode with no more than a command. I have seen a dog take down a perp through a crowd and the K9 was smart enough to get the perp without disturbing any bystanders.  If LE K9 patrol units can get their dogs into bite mode, then the Secret Service can get theirs into bite mode they have the same dogs, and same training available.  They have more resources than most LE does, if they wanted to they could have enough K9 teams to have a couple or a few on patrol (and properly stimulated) while others are at rest, in shifts like their human handlers.   But like I have stated, this is with 20/20 hindsight so hopefully going forward they put in place something to prevent further events like this and the others that have transpired recently.
  12. Again, this is the White House! If LE and Mil can have dogs ready, why can't they? Bottom line is they seem to of been caught with their pants down, and I hope it gets rectified before some underwear bomber gets in next time.
  13. It starts with a security plan and set SOPs for when to escalate the response. I think they should of had a dog team, which should always be available, take him down before he got into the building. Have non-lethal methods available such as tazers and sound wave cannons to deter mentally challenged individuals from gaining entry into the fenced in areas. Electrify, think cattle fence, the top portion of the fence etc, etc. I realize this is nothing more than hind sight but we are talking of the White House and we have had these occurances in the past so it should be no surprise that there are crazies out there. In these times, it should even be more important than ever before due to these ISIS/L crazies who would like nothing more than to have an attack on such an important political target. And personally, I doubt he gives a dang what we the people think of what he does. Otherwise he would be listening more to the other side, Repubs should too, and do what they were hired for.
  14. No, this shows you the relationship of the wires. Your white and two black wires should be the same as the white, black and red in the pic. You just need to id which wires equals the three in the pic and connect them accordingly.
  15. Good edit, that was my first thought when I first seen it. Good for him, hopefully soon they can use US based rockets to get there and back.
  16. This may help, pics always do.
  17. Well, you can count me in on that crowd. I still believe in "The Buck Stops Here" mentality no matter who is in office. That is whats wrong with people, politicians especially, nowadays; nobody wants to except responsibility. One can't expect him to personally oversee every aspect of his administration, but his policies should be clear and concise enough to have those in charge enact them properly. Securing the White House should be of the utmost importance and should have security good enough to keep unwanted guests from getting inside. I would not want to see a fellow military service member go down, but he should be well aware the risk he takes trying a stunt like this. Though I confess that the current administration has not earned my admiration, I respect the office enough to want to see it protected. Having said that, everyone makes mistakes but its how you fix those mistakes that define you.
  18. You need to id the wires. You have one hot wire, usually a black wire, another is neutral, usually a white wire, and a jumper, or runner which should be a third color, usually red but I think in your case its black too. Disconnect all three wires, tape them so that the exposed wires dont touch but you can touch the volt meter to the exposed wires. Put the volt meter to test AC of at least 120v, 220 better. While wires are hot, touch one lead to the white wire and alternate touching the other lead to the black wires until you get a reading on each. Only one should be hot if both hot or dead, flip the other switch and test again. Once you identify what wire is what, use the link I provided to hook them up.

According to commercials, droppings full of beef jerky.
  20. I guess, I never took a double dose that I knew of but then again I don't know the milligrams of what they gave us either. My current script is for 10mg, and on the rare occasions that I need one I cut them in half.
  21. I doubt it meant 3 truckloads of guns. It was probably just mixed in with other personal property of the estate, a few weapons among the truck loads.
  22. The only meds I had issues with is Mefloquine, a malaria pill we would take on Mondays. We called it Manic Monday because it would give you some freaky dreams which many of us experienced.
  23. I am not saying that it's not possible, but I have taken ambien many many times and have never had any issues. When we would deploy, we would get an ambien at wheels up and a go-pill 18 hours later with no side effects whatsoever. On a couple occasions we even had to return to base (RTB) and had to work through the ambien and again, no side effects. I am not saying there can't be someone that is affected by it but I think too many times its used as an excuse for bad behavior. I do find it strange that a wife would report her husband after only two hours of being gone (one story) and 911 to boot. There is definitely more than is being reported.
  24. Good time to let slip that you should of picked a .40 XDm :)
  25. You may have the black wires reversed. I think you may need a three way switch, which you may have, one of the black wires comes from the other switch and the other is hot. Edit for link: http://www.electrical-online.com/3wayswitch/
