  1. Welcome to the site, and welcome back to the community.
  2. That's how the rotation goes, what ever weapon I take to the range and/or carry that week becomes my bedside gun.  So calibers vary but every one of them always has a full mag, and have been recently tuned in.
  3. These two are the ones on this rotation, a 92F and an XDM .40.
  4. Amazing what a few cents worth of powder can do.
  5. Yea, I liked that when I was stationed at Hunter Army Airfield,  it made having a permit easy to justify, cost wise.
  6. I would like to have a law passed that would make CCW permit holders exempt from background checks (NICS) since the permit already verifies that we are able to own a firearm.  Since the NICS is only supposed to be a verification of legality to own and no other purpose, then a CCW permit makes it obsolete.   Thoughts?
  7. It looks like she has passed; Rest in Peace :http://www.foxnews.com/health/2014/11/03/terminally-ill-woman-follows-through-on-decision-to-end-her-life-dies-in-Oregon/
  8. Not a bucket list perse, but these are on my list if I find a good deal on them:   Ruger Mini 14 - plinker Rossi Circuit Judge - squirrel Ruger Super Blackhawk w/scope - deer M1 carbine - just because
  9. ^^This If the silencer where to only be say $50, would you really stand to pay a $200 tax for it?  Back in the 80's you could buy the components to make a silencer for a .22 for around $20-$40 at many gunshows.  It was all aluminum with rubber washers and was quite easily made (still is) with a lathe.  Tech is much better now, and components a bit more expensive but still cheaper than the price tag you see, so no, they should not be that expensive if left to market fluctuations.
  10. I don't know her, and honestly don't care what her final decision turns out to be.  I don't even care if this whole thing turns out to be a complete hoax; I am just glad it has shown a spotlight on the issue.  We as a society need to have this discussion and discussions like this to move these issues into light.  We for far too long have made decisions as a society that belong to only the individual. And yes, that includes things like abortions.  Though I am against it unless its a case of incest or rape, I have no business pushing my beliefs on others.  And the more I interact with our broken society, the more I come to believe more should of been aborted before they became the menace that they have become.
  11. I don't espouse to not brush your teeth, but to give you the choice of pulling your tooth or getting a root canal.
  12. There should be no issue as long as she has no "possession" of the firearm, so one must be careful not to store said firearm in a vehicle she drives or maybe even a room she may solely occupy.  Maybe a lockbox that only he has the key or combo for.
  13. Though I will fight with all my strength to beat any condition set upon me I feel its a personal choice that should be respected if you wish to end it.  I could understand wanting to counsel those who are depressed, or even mad at the world, from wanting to commit suicide, but a terminally ill patient that has already put their affairs in order and has nothing but pain to look forward to has the absolute right to choose to not to go through that.  To me, its not a selfish act; its a selfish act to want to make someone go through all that because of your beliefs or to delay the inevitable so as not to want to go through the loss.
  14. Again, I would rather have my money used in this manner than just wasted.  Though I too would rather have constitutional carry, I know that the US will most likely never go that way in its entirety so a CCW permit will be in my future for life.  As far as how employees are compensated, I don't see an issue with it; I would not do volunteer work for my employer, its my job, not my hobby.  If I were to run a booth for say, TGO, then yes volunteers are necessary.  But running a booth for your job should be on the clock in one way or another.
  15. I have a feeling that the police already suspect him.  They asked him not to disclose some things about what happened in the house? why?  If they had their shooter, then no trial, no need for secrecy.  His demeanor during the interview seemed to me as though he was making it up, not recalling the incident.  I just hope LEO doesn't try and close this case with no investigation, just seems too fishy to me.
  16. Smells.  The first one I would take out is the younger male as he would be the highest threat, then the older male, and so on.
  17. I would rather my permit money go to shooting safety programs, or safety awareness than squandered on some back country road to nowhere.
  18. Shouldn't be, unless you are using a part of the target as a reference.  An interesting thing about military zero and 25 yard qual targets is that the circle in the center is the same size no matter what size the silhouette is.  Get or make same size reference circles and place them on your target and use them for reference.
  19. Maybe, but much better than ignoring the whole thing.  Just because the man/company has money does not mean his act is not a good deed.  And I bet our being impressed or not hasn't even crossed his mind.
  20. Though I don't make a lot of regular chili I have used this a couple of times, and it is available at walmart.  http://www.carrollshelbyschili.com/recipes
  21. I am afraid I can't help you since I have my cable and phone through AT&T.  But I honestly have had no serious problem with them or their service that I haven't had with other services.  I was "adopted" by AT&T through the purchase of Bellsouth which bought another company I started with (can't remember the name).  I find that most companies stay at around the same price, it then becomes a matter of preferences and word of mouth references as to which is better.
  22. I disagree, I think it was not required for Papa John's to do anything about this situation in a locally owned store.  The fact that he went out of his way to show up in person and pay for ANYTHING shows a lot of class.  IMHO, Papa John's had nothing to do with this situation.  That SOB is to blame for it and should be made to pay for it.  Same goes for any business that has one of their employees killed by actions of some criminal, it is not the business' fault for something like that.  Now, faulty equipment, dangerous procedures in the work place or other things they can control is another thing.  One can argue that he should not of been alone, but all that would of done is created more victims.
  23. PM me your email addy, I have collected a bit of info on the 300Blk and put it all in a PDF.  I don't have 4227 data for the Barnes ttx, but there is some for other rounds including Barnes tsx, and Lehigh rounds and other 110gr bullets.
  24. Yea, not sure either.  But notice the people down range while the laser?? is still "moving"?  Either that laser is the slowest in the world or that guy is the fastest.
