  1. I also try to avoid public restrooms for #2, but if you got to go.. I try and not lay anything on the floor, and due to the weight I just place it on something, tp dispenser, sink, or my knee if need be.  Its not really about it being seen,  but I try and not let that happen also.
  2. What brand?  I may need to get one, seems like there are at least 2 decent packs out here by the sound of their calls.
  3. So here I am, in my stand with alternating light to moderate rain falling; slight mist now creeping in.  Haven't seen deer since I harvested those two does, and I blamed it mostly on the wind.  To my surprise, this article contradicts that:  http://www.mossyoak.com/our-obsession/blogs/cuzs-corner/2012/11/20/20-years-of-deer-research-on-deer-movement When I was younger, I would stalk hunt and always seemed to get deer on rainy and windy days.  I attributed that to the fact that my movements were masked by the rain.  Anyone else see these trends?  What conditions have you seen that are better for you?
  4. That's a good question.  I know with traffic accidents it considered no fault.  But the law is pretty specific, you must have a HC plate or placard displayed.  But if they are fraudulently using one or the other I am not sure how they can tell.

12/15, but I guessed on a couple.   Edit:  pfft, just read on another forum that it's rigged.  One guy claimed he intentionally picked wrong and it gave him a high score.  My current connection is slow or I'd test it.
  6. I am sorry for your loss.  In the end all we leave is memories and loved ones to carry on, I am glad you have some happy ones of her. I hope that helps you and your family heal.
  7. I have the same issue, I had the option of either having clear long distance or short distance so picked long. I use +1 glasses for reading small text when needed.  I figured I needed to see things coming better than waiting till they were on me.
  8. I hate hearing of losses during the holidays,  it makes celebrating them later on a melancholy affair.  May you and yours celebrate his life, not his loss during these trying times.
  9. No pics, but I got a set of electronic muffs, some binos and a PID for my Lee pot.  I have the muffs in hand, PID in the mail, and binos well..my daughter ordered from Amazon, then got an email saying there was a technical glitch and the order was canceled,  she ordered from another site and they back ordered. She feels bad, but I told her not to worry as I know stuff happens.
  10. I had that issue a few of times, some I can draw in with a bleat but most times they just sit there teasing me.
  11. While I am not religious,  I can be courteous and return the Merry Christmas,  Happy Hanukkah,  or whatever greeting I am presented with.  The way I figure, I am wishing them a happy celebration, no matter what they are celebrating much like happy birthday.  I also don't have any issues allowing, not forcing, moments of silence during events and even at school.  Silence can be used for whatever the person wants, prayers, building a grocery list, or just thinking of the day ahead.   That being said, Merry Christmas for those celebrating it and a Happy New Year for all...unless you dont believe in happiness.
  12. I wear contacts, they are the type you wear for 30 days and discard but I find that if I take them out once a week or so they can be worn longer before they are uncomfortable.  I had PRK, like Lasik, but my eyes went right back to what they were after a few years but I deployed to Iraq during the healing process so that could not of helped.  I have glasses as well but they give me a headache after awhile so just use them a little at a time for distance stuff as up close I can see well without aid.
  13. Even if he did it would make no difference to these people.  They need very little to start up, they don't need any facts to muddy their truth.
  14.  Yea, I think you guys are right. Things have changed a bunch, read the Ft. Campbell regs and now you have to harvest one doe before you get a buck.  I am in unit L, land owner now, and lifetime license holder as of 04 so I guess I haven't kept up like I should.  In other states, regs had a "whats new" section, I guess I missed it.
  15. No, I am pretty sure all you need is the hunting and one of the weapon permits.  The 094 is so you can go into a WMA participate  in a non-quota hunt.  Before I retired that is all I would buy, and the Ft Campbell permit and the wardens never said I needed anything else.  I never hunted WMAs so never purchased any of those permits.  Of course things change, so I could be off, but I don't think so.
  16. Nah, don't despair.  Its different but not overly so.  Though it may be late in the season, it may not be a total bust.  Get the 09 if you hunt rifle and go drop you one.  I don't think you need the 094 unless you are on WMAs, someone correct me if I am wrong but I think one of the three (depending on what you hunt with) is all you  need for deer, buck or doe.
  17. I don't think anyone is saying you have to give up any rights, and yes, they are volunteers but that does not mean they have to put up this sort of garbage.  Yes, I too wore the uniform and dealt with people that wanted nothing better than to see me dead.  That aside, I can sympathize for these officers and can give them the point that though they may not be worse off than I was as a soldier but they also do not have the luxury of being able to call in airstrikes or have a full squad of police to watch each other while on patrol. That's like saying that firemen do not have a dangerous job because they are volunteers, some without pay.
  18. Do you have a big game permit?, I think its a 09-011, if not even though I don't think the system checks, you may be wise to call them to clear that entry then.  If you are checked later, it may come up that you checked in a deer without a license.  If you do have one, then again no harm done.      The system should warn you that you don't have the correct license before allowing you to submit...oh well its new, might be something for a future release.
  19. At this point I would not worry about it, unless it was multiple bucks its not like you will run out of tags.
  20. I was going to remain on the sidelines since I have already had this conversation over and over on other sites and with co-workers.  But I think we have brought out some issues that are good to discuss.  First, this crap about not living the "black" experience so I/we don't know what they go through.  BS, many blacks haven't lived the "black" experience, so what?  I grew up in a neighborhood were we (Hispanics) were a large part of the population.  With that came the FACT, that Hispanics committed the most crimes.  We were profiled, roughed up and in the case of a few friends shot by the police.  We had a particular officer that we all knew not to cross paths with, his name was Snyder and he would tune you up in a heart beat. And Hispanics have been laboring right next to the blacks throughout US history, so have the Chinese on the railroads, and even some Europeans being indentured servants and all.  All that being said, not once did I ever hear anyone in those circles say they were going to target police officers.  So some of us have lived the "experience" and some still do to this day.    That was over 30 years ago, and most of the US police force has gotten much better.  Are there a few bad apples, of course but what large group doesn't have that?  If you are a law abiding citizen, 99% of the time you have nothing to worry about if confronted by the police.  Even if they mistake you for a criminal, the situation will be cleared in time.  In the military it is said that even if you are right, once you begin arguing with your NCOs you are now wrong!  Same goes with a police officer, if you become confrontational and resist arrest, you will come out on the losing end. Does that mean I think they can do no wrong, of course not, but that does not give ANYONE the right to target them outright. The way that certain groups are being allowed to call for the killing of police officers without recrimination is sickening, and I tell you what if I ever see a policeman in trouble you bet I will lend my gun to the situation.
  21. I just got a bullet mold for mine so I can cast my own, I want to do the same as you next season.  I have a mix of rounds left for mine, but like you I want to shoot more, for less.  I was also recommended blackhorn 209 for powder which midsouth has in stock. https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/000790480/Blackhorn_209_High_Performance_Muzzleloading_Powder_(10_Oz) so will give that a try after hunting season to get it dialed in.  As for range, the furthest I have shot with mine is 150 yards but it can reach further depending on charge and projectile with 300 yards not out of the question.
  22. Welcome to the site, and to the area.  Great bunch of folks around here, you'll like it.
  23. Yea, too many factors to solely rely on a chart.  If the area has few hunters, then maybe the chart may be right, but if there are enough hunters to push them then they can come at any time.  I hunt on a very small plot of land,  7+ acres, but there are 600 acres on two sides of me with hunt clubs.  I rely on them getting pushed toward me, or natural movement when no one is hunting on either side.  Most times, I have quite a few come by but this year has been real slow.  I seen a few, at least 3, one day, no shot, and two a few weeks ago which I dropped.  Been dry otherwise, chart or no chart.
  24. We may yet get more info, but his wife has her own views: http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/unfairpark/2013/06/chris_kyles_widow_tells_glenn.php
