  1. Think of it this way, if you lived in an apartment complex (business) that prohibited firearms in their building and parking lot, the rent is such that you can not afford to live anywhere else or incur a longer commute (gas, time), higher rent (less food) etc.  You now have the choice of providing for your family or provide for their safety.  That business has no right to do that legal or otherwise, why should other businesses be any different?   You can feebly argue that someone can just live or work elsewhere but for some there is no choice but the two I listed...ok maybe there are others like hiring body guards but lets not get too complicated.  A business should not be able to dictate what is in someone's personal vehicles, and they should be totally responsible for their customers and workers safety if they don't allow carrying within their building.  A customer may very well have an option to not patronize an establishment that is posted, but your workers may not have that choice.
  2. +1 for the 3 die set, I have only started using an fcd when I started reloading for my 300Blk and even there its a light crimp I use.  The seating die will usually give you enough of a crimp to give good neck tention.
  3. Great meeting everyone, and good putting faces to (screen) names.  We definitely need to do this again down the road.
  4. Well, if someone can aim a telescope to where some of the space junk that was left behind we would have an answer.  I think they also left a mirror out there to do tests with which bounce lasers back at us.
  5. I have to respectfully disagree with you on the parking lot issue.  Businesses have a right to keep their business gun free if they so choose, but the parking lot?  I don't buy it!  By making your workers not able to store their weapons in their vehicle you are effectively disarming them for the majority of their lives.  Many workers spend more time at or in route to/from work than at home, and many run errands before or after work.  If you or your business really cared for the safety and welfare of your workers you would support this bill.  If they were to be talking about private residences then I could see the issue since nobody HAS to visit.  And what about the customers?  Are they also subject to arrest if a gun is locked away in their car?  Is the parking lot posted?
  6. Your right, I must of had other things in my cart when I tried it last.  That at least makes it a little better, but the shipping still gets you unless you get one of those free shipping codes.
  7. According to FedEx and UPS: http://www.fedex.com/us/freight/rulestariff/prohibited_articles.html, http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/ship/packaging/guidelines/firearms.html only licensed people may ship even though it is not totally consistent with ATF rules. I would call the center and or write corporate and send a link to the ATF site to see if they can/will change their policy.
  8. The only reason I don't is the hazmat fee, that goes for primers and powder as well.  I never buy in bulk so it would be hard to make up the hazmat and shipping.  Keep an eye out for them at Wal-Mart, just went looking for .44 mags (none) but they had .357s.  Also these guys have some: https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/Dept/Ammunition/Centerfire-Pistol/357-Mag but again, unless you pickup, you have to buy in bulk to make the hazmat and shipping worth it.
  9. Why pick one over an other?  I say any bill which strengthens or supports the 2A should be submitted and passed.  Now, if you were talking about the finance committee deciding between bills I could see your point since $$ will be lost for the state and deciding how much and which bill would support the 2A more (bigger impact for the $$).  For our part (voters), we need to contact our reps and let them know where we stand on the issues and let them know our disappointment when a bill does not pass; specially at the voting booth.  If enough representatives get voted  out because of the lack of support for the 2A, then the word will get out to the next in line and they will act accordingly during their term.
  10. Yea, I think you need to take your situation into consideration. I hunt in the middle of a TVA right of way and can see and be seen clearly from any direction a hunter may be hunting outside or inside my property.  When I am in the treeline I put on my orange cap, it will be the first thing anyone looking will see.  Though you never know, it would make no difference IMO if I was wearing it or not, if I get hit it would most likely be from someone shooting at game silhouetted on a hill with me somewhere behind it.    I think if your name is on the deed you are exempt, I have seen some properties have multiple names on it.  But if I had anyone hunting around me, I would don my hat at the very least family or not; its situational.
  11. I would say good luck collecting.
  12. I hope it does pass, but it will be too easy to kill by sending it to the finance committee.
  13.     The caveat to that is if you own the property, then you do not need to wear any orange.  On mine I don't wear any unless I am walking around or retrieving a deer, then only a hat/cap.  Of course that is because I just walk a short ways to my stand, and the stand is hard to miss.  If I had a longer way to my stand I would wear some just in case.
  14. Probably the NRA tags were listed as one of the fund raising type, when correctly listed it triggered the check.  The reason they probably keep records is for if/when they get audited they can show they have been checking and have not let one of their friends get one with no proof.  I don't see any nefarious reason why they asked for the info, you always have the option to get the regular plate.  With the government being able to hack any system (FBI/NSA) I am sure they can get a list from the NRA directly or just have the post office record every address the NRA sends mail to.
  15. Probably a little due diligence on the States part.  When I applied for my military plates, I had to show proof I qualified, they took a copy and put it in their records.  I figure if you could/would not show proof they would issue you a standard plate.
  16. Same here, I have 3-5 rounds left of my zeroed ammo for my .270 which I would like to use on yotes in my hunting area; its a good caliber for yotes.  I put together one of those DIY callers and will give it a try as soon as I get a chance.  I downloaded a few calling sequences to use on the mp3 player,  will alternate them and see which works for me.
  17. I use pressure treated 2x4s, formed into an "H" with slots for 1x1 uprights.  It stands on it's own and only the 1x1s need replacing every once in awhile.  I leave them out where I shoot, three years so far.  I like the metal stands, but then I would have to store them.
  18. Dont know where I heard it but everytime I am in your place I remember this: "Pain is natures way to let you know you are alive"  Hope you get to feeling better soon.
  19. Yes, but a bill like this may get more people to become gun owners and with that a bigger voice for 2A issues.  I say anything that supports more people exercising their 2A rights is a good thing
  20. You never know, things have been passed that I never expected to do so.  They need to realize that though they may miss the tax on extra sales that weekend, many of those sales would not of happened otherwise.  Many people will rather buy used than spend the extra 10% on a new gun, I know I do.  I have seen some weapons at the LGS that are priced decently only to go above what I would pay when you add taxes and the background check.
  21. I am good with that, either day either time.  I do have one question though, the Casa Blanca I have been to is at 2121 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard Clarksville, TN 37040, anybody have the address, or cross street for the one on Riverside?
  22. I am good with the location; now the time and date.
