  1. I first seen this on another site. There I agreed with another post, if you are within shotgun distance above my property you are invading my privacy.  While you may not be able to see details, there is enough to determine what I have back there.  While google images do much the same thing, they are static and nobody at google is looking to see if you have a nice zero turn under the car port for later that night.  There is no reason to be hovering over anyone's property without permission; roof inspections, realtor walkthroughs and maybe even pictures for land owner are by permission so no issue there.  I understand sometimes one of those can go off course, and I am not advocating shooting them all down but if one makes you uneasy then its game on.
  2. Ha, we used to wedge .22s in a tree and detonate them with our bb guns.  The we just used real .22 rifles and cut out the middle man.
  3. They forgot a few I had like water rockets, lawn darts and the ever popular water wiggle.
  4. Not a fan, where would you carry it?  Besides, I am not in need of a stock for a pistol stock unless it's for one in a traditional rifle caliber.  I'll stick to sig braces since it seems if you shoulder any single handed "gun" you're a potential victim of the ATF.
  5. One of our troops is looking to attend a concealed carry class in Memphis while he is on leave (3-11 Aug).  Anyone know of any courses open around that time frame that is not too expensive?
  6. I only load for a specific gun when I am going for  accuracy (hunting) otherwise I just shoot out of any gun/rifle that matches the caliber or can shoot that caliber i.e 44 mag and 44 special.  Sometimes a gun gets finicky and won't shoot a certain projo, then I may load for a specific gun but that's rare, only happened once so far and the gun just needed broke in.
  7. I just explain what the going rate is for that particular gun.  When I decide to buy a gun, I do a search on various gun sites to get a good feel for how much it should be worth.  I am sure they did the same when deciding to sell, and if it has that much sentimental value they probably shouldn't sell it.

    Dear Lotd Man!

If you miss that many signals as a parent, you need to be jailed.
  10. I have a hybrid style holster made locally by MTO holsters.  I wore mine yesterday evening in about the kidney position, say (4-5 o'clock), drove to Nashville and back and an hour or more at sleep number store, and hardly knew it was there.  You may need bigger pants though, and a longer belt depending on the thickness of your carry gun.  I've tried it with my regular clothes and its a tight fit, but that may be too many tacos too.  I also purchased some longer shirts by buying a size larger than normal, it covers well and does not print much if at all.
  11. It should be in Hotmail settings:   In Hotmail App: Click on "Options" then click on "More Options" Look for blocked senders option Then select "Blocked Senders."   From there you can add or delete names/emails
  12. I agree about not using it in that manner if you know it has given you issues, but I would attempt to fix it as well.  You never know how you will end up firing your weapon in a defensive situation.  When ever I fire from the prone position, I find that the mag (30 round) always touches the ground in order for me to get a good sight picture.  Now I just use 20 rounders for the range, but on occasion I still use the 30 round mags but can use additional methods to elevate my position to fire properly.
  13. But that should at least take a medical pannel to determine that, not some VA or SS clerk.  There should be no form that takes your rights away without due process, and even then you should be allowed representation.
  14. Same here, I've used the mag as a grip and haven't caused any issues yet.  If I'm not mistaken, there are some lowers that have what look like finger grooves in the forward part of the magwell, seems like they want you to use them like that.
  15. While in the service I would always use my mag at the range in the prone unsupported position with no issues.  With my civilian models I have not tried it because I am not limited any unsupported positions but I see no reason why they should have issues.  Do your mags have a bunch of play in the magwell compared to your friends AR?
  16. Yes, supposedly two were armed and at least one returned fire.  Not sure if they will report if any of the rounds hit the terrorist or not, or what if any charges are brought against the living one.  While a handgun is not much against a rifle, its much better than a stapler.
  17. Hope his deployment is an uneventful one and that he gets back safe and sound.  While some parts of Africa are decent enough, there are some parts that are as bad if not worse than the Middle East.  I've been to both kinds and have no wish to return to either one.
  18. No, not really.  They can, and many have, get their HCP but its still against regulation (UCMJ Article 134) to carry a personal concealed firearm while in uniform.  Some may do it anyway, but it is against regulations which carry the force of law.  Add to that that it is also illegal to enter federal property with one and now you have guys that can't be armed.  Again, as seen, some already do, but so do many civilians at work against their bosses wishes. The fact is that Americans need to wake up to the fact that we are at war with those that wish to change our way of life and are willing to die to do it.  Politicians have no need for more security, most have armed guards and secret service to protect them while at work (some at home too) while our soldiers are left hanging in the wind.  The rest of us have crazed people that may snap at any moment, and criminals that want what we have, and may get caught up in the crossfire of terrorist attacks. We are making decent strides to support our rights to protect ourselves, we should be making the same effort for our soldiers as well.
  19. It's not about stopping these incidents, it's about giving them the same rights the rest of us have.  Incidents will continue to happen, there are way too many crazies out there for it not to.  But notice that the number of a mass shootings at locations known to have armed resistance are few if any.  The answer is to harden these targets enough to make them think twice about trying it there.
  20. I don't know, it can be said that being armed is incidental to standing guard at the recruiting station.  Either way, there is no way any LEO is going to interfere with them; the backlash would be swift and brutal.  It sucks that it takes and incident such as this to bring some of these lame policies to light though.    Edit: I meant to add, I don't think its good for us to criticize them for their choice of weapons and their add-ons, they at least took it upon themselves to get up there and do something.  Maybe we need to contact them and bring them into the fold, then maybe they will either equip their weapons more proficiently or let us know why that's the way the like them.  I have two bipods, I used them on and off for a bit early on, not because they were cool, but because every place I shot at had nothing to support my rifle for those long shots.  I have since purchased bags, slings and even a lead sled so they go unused.   I did notice one of them actually had a 300Blk, he showed the mag and he had some of what looked like Hornady 125gr SST in it.
  21. Does angle play any part in this method?  I would think it would throw it off if you are not directly in line with the mirror.  I guess it would be close enough to get on paper, just like the old school method I used on my bolt actions before I got my laser.  I would lock my rifle in a gun vise, remove the bolt and look down the bore and adjust it so the bull (or any distinct object at 100 yards) was in the sight picture, then just move the cross hairs to the bull.
  22. Well, Haslam has found a way not to address arming these guys.  Heard on the news last night that he ordered all storefront recruiting stations closed and moved to armories instead of hardening the soft target, he just moved them to another soft target.  While some armories may be behind gates and some security established I know the one here in Clarksville is not all that secure.
  23. Not much to add except that I got one of the ones from Walmart.  The kind that goes in the muzzle, it fits from .17 to 12 guage with the rubber adapters.  I used it for all my rifles to get me on paper, then with the lead sled zeroed within 4 rounds or so.  If you used it a few times, its well worth the price.  I looked at the ones that are like a shell which you chamber, but they are caliber specific so I would need multiples for the ones I have used the Walmart one on so far.
