  1. I think you can learn to work the trigger just fine as is.  It will take time, but once you work it enough, you will develop muscle memory.  Get some snap caps and practice dry firing until it becomes second nature.
  2. In my experience I will have to agree with bersaguy, been there and while in uniform I was pretty much looked down upon.  Once we switched to civies it was like night and day.  Same experience in Italy, 180 once in civies, in Germany and Japan not so much treated the same, decent, in both while in uniform and civies.  One thing I did notice is that much of the attitude came from the younger generations, older folks were much nicer.  I don't know what it is, maybe they have had bad experiences with Americans in the past but I definitely noticed a difference.
  3. Welcome to the site.  And as others have said, learn to like cats.  I suggest with BBQ sauce, but catsup will do in a pinch.

    Trigger Pull

My bad, no did not know.    Wonder if a good sling would help those with that issue; an outward pressure can steady the rifle as well.
  5. I don't hunt duck, but by the sounds of the gunshots while I'm deer hunting the area by the steam plant in Cumberland City I would say its rather full of ducks.  I am not sure if they are hunting at Guices creek rec area or maybe at yellow creek but I hear shots quite a bit.  Maybe someone who duck hunts in this area can chime in.

    Trigger Pull

Not bad, I didn't notice you supporting the rifle with your right hand, though it may of been off screen.  Also, Your cheek weld seemed loose; I didn't see your targets so hard to tell if any of that effected your shot placement.  Maybe a split screen showing trigger pull and shot placement to see what each trigger pull does.  I find that if someone counters incorrect trigger pull with a good rearward pull into the shoulder pocket and a good cheek weld it does not effect shot placement as much.  For those just learning shooting techniques however, trigger pull is definitely a good starting point.

  8. They were right, you get sent when there is a slot available for you.  Some get assigned when they are already an E-5 or E-6 so they get prioritized for slots.  But if you are there for awhile and have not gone then you will probably find yourself on orders.  We were allowed RIP since we were in a support unit not actually part of the Bn but actual school slots were difficult to get. As a parachute rigger I had to be with them during jumps and deployed with them in support of that roll, on occasion I would get to do some training with them as well.  Depending on your MOS, why not put in a packet with us out here in the 160th? You will only have to go through Green Platoon, its a lot of fun...afterward.
  9. Welcome aboard, introduce yourself a bit, we be some nosey people.
  10. I have a BOLO out for one in 6.5 creedmore at one of my LGS, but I want to hold one before I commit to a purchase.
  11. Right, but a cosponsor from Texas off all places?  Should make folks there happy.

  13. I doubt this has any chance but what balls on these mental midgets.   https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/2546
  14. Rodger, I was involved with both and much rather hit it and quit it than stay around having to watch my back day and night.
  15. Right, but if you perforate the low point it collects rain water while still allowing condensation to drip into the container.
  16.     Yes, there is a difference.  Tabbed just means you have gone through the course, but scrolled means you have served in the Ranger Regiment.  While stationed out in Savannah (Hunter Army Airfield) GA, we supported the 1st Ranger Bn.  A tabbed E-4 would run roughshod on non-tabbed ones and tabbed non-scrolled were looked down upon by those in the regiment even if they themselves were not tabbed.  Personally, I would take a scrolled squad  of rangers vs a squad of tabbed non regiment guys any day.
  17. Ranger tabs are not only for the Ranger Battalions, many people go to ranger school and don't serve in the battalions.  I have mostly seen officers, but know a few enlisted as well.
  18. These solar stills work ok here due to the moisture but I've set one of these out before and while it does work, you will not be able to sustain yourself with it unless you make a whole bunch.  Humans need roughly 2.5 to just over 3 L on an average day, in emergencies you could survive with less but of course the more stress (sweat) the more water you will need.  If you had to stay put, I would set these up before running out to see what kind of volume you would get out of it/them.  On the plus side, these catch water rather well so when it rains it does double duty but you have to be ready to swap buckets out to catch as much as possible.

    Upholstery

Anyone know a good place to get some upholstery done?  Or complete cushions for an old pull trailer?  It one I leave out on my hunting land so don't want to spend a bunch.  It may be better to just buy them outright but the ones I have seen are much to expensive for my needs.  Maybe someone that does this on the side?  I am in Clarksville and don't want to ship but am willing to go to Nashville area if the deal is good.
  20. Ok, just deleted a whole bunch of text that I was writing to just add this link: http://www.chuckhawks.com/adjust_reloading_dies.htm It better explains the die sets and what each die does.
  21. At the house I'm set for a bit, I have 4 water filters to filter water from the usual household water sources even if they were to become contaminated and I have a 55gl collection barrel outside as well.  I have medical supplies for most any first responder type situations.  Food, well that would depend on the length of said emergency.  My generators can run for a bit with available fuel and I have deer to last longer than that. Wildlife is plentiful for now, and silent means to acquire such.  I would smoke and dry some of the meat to make it last longer.  If the house became undefendable, I have 8 acres to fall back on in a more rural area, its more defendable due to the terrain and surrounded by hundreds of acres full of wildlife and few neighbors who may make for good force multipliers.
  22. Sounds like a lot of anti-gun social media posts are forthcoming.
