  1. 12.Kate Webb Act--requires all infants to be tested for specific genetic, metabolic or other inheritable conditions. http://www.knoxnews.com/sports/high-school/powell-girls-basketball-coach-christin-webb-fights-for-daughter-unborn-son-ep-899277856-353631411.html   As I read this act I thought its now a mandatory test, which the patient pays for, which only affects 1 in 100, 000, and if I read this right; it mandates that newborns get tested early...Wouldn't it be better to do blood tests on adults to see who is a carrier of that recessive gene?  When I got married, both the wife and I had to have blood tests before they would issue a license; I don't know what they tested for or if they are still doing that but it seems to me that it would be better to test adults to see what couples are at risk.  If a child is already born it may be too late to start testing if they already have the condition, it has to be caught before birth to begin treatment as soon as they are born and give parents the opportunity to choose whether to have kids or not.
  2. Well, now you will have to see if Bedford county can tell you who it belonged to.
  3. Just pour liquid aluminum down the hole. Same outcome and you get a piece of art out of it (http://www.anthillart.com/castings/025/):
  4. Quite well, due to technical issues all numbers will begin with 666.   So what, we would now need to have the government decide who is a citizen and who is not?  Even in utopia anti-Constitution  ideas creep in.
  5. Might be the magazine follower, i would lean that way.  I would try cleaning first, cheapest, then a mag;   https://www.gunpartscorp.com/Products/228020.htm   http://www.ebay.com/itm/RADOM-MAGAZINE-1935-VIS-35-MODEL-9MM-POLISH-RADOM-MAG-/271902655598?hash=item3f4ea9446e:g:a94AAOSwnDxUrFBL
  6. No, no it's perfectly legal to buy beaver; just don't try to rent it.
  7. Start with 124 grain, it's the NATO standard.  Since that is arguably the most widely available, it is a good chance that is what they used as a basis for the sights.
  8. When OPEC does that, we should do the same to refined gas to make up the difference.  Artificial price wars work both ways, make it hurt their domestic market too.
  9. No, but Vaseline works quite well with beeswax as a bullet lube.
  10. The DIY european mount I tried worked out pretty good, less than $30 for it and about $20 of that was the oak plaque. Now that I have a basic idea of the plaque, my next one will be that much less.
  11. Nice buck, you mounting him? He would make a good european mount.
  12. I've used grease in the past, but I seriously don't think there is much of a difference between oil and grease on guns in use.  I mostly use CLP because CLP has all three properties, it's in the name Cleaner, Lubricant, Protectant. If you let it sit long enough you can see it separate into an oil and a thicker grease like substance.  The only thing I now use grease on is things like guns I plan on storing for a bit, or maybe if I am going to run a large amount of ammo through them at the range but only sometimes there.  The grease I have in my box is milspec, used for the 240G, but like I said I rarely use any.
  13. That has been used for the ordinance corps for some time.
  14. I have no problem wishing others a Merry Christmas, or Happy Hanukkah or Happy whatever they are celebrating.
  15. Maybe Bloomberg can finally put his money to good use and get himself a nice 1911.
  16. I don't see that as a problem, it's easy to differentiate between the guy blasting at everyone and those trained on that individual.  The ones you hear about getting shot are ones that point their guns at uniformed LEOs instead of laying it down.  And as been shown many times, the killing is usually over by the time they arrive.
  17. Just seen it and I am mostly disappointed with the writers.  It was the first movie all over again, and I agree about the whole light saber battle, just not believable that a stormtrooper could keep up with a Jedi trained warrior.  I never read any of the books so from that aspect I can't really complain, but there was so much they could of done to make this a NEW movie and not redo the first one with better cgi.
  18. Congratulations to all the winners, and again, Merry Christmas to all TGO members out there.
  19. I was out this evening, nothing moved at all.  So took the time to clean the plexiglass in my stand so when/if it gets cold I can keep them down and still be able to see.
  20. No, unfortunately liberals can live anywhere they want.
  21. Decided to try my luck in the rain, so far nil.  Heard a couple of far off shots, but that may of been duck hunters; may not be enough of us out here to move them around.
  22. I use theraflu in the little packets, I keep a box of the night/day combo box in the cupboard.  I like the chamomile flavored ones but they are hard to find, so I make due with other flavors sometimes.
  23. What, you guys don't have one? How else are you going to attach your backup bipods, flashlights and laser range finder? It beats the gorilla tape I had to use
  24. It is listed as a permit, not a licence for some reason.  It says it is a special season/WMA non-quota permit.  I wonder if bucks in a WMA count towards the 2 buck limit? https://www.tn.gov/twra/article/hunting-permits-j1
  25. When your transmission went out, did they put the front driveshaft on?  Don't laugh, I had a buddy who had his 4x4 Nissan worked on, they completely left the front driveshaft off.  He didn't realize it for some time until he attempted to put it in 4wheel drive.
