  1. They found him, poor child.   http://www.wsmv.com/story/31026230/2-year-old-noah-chamberlin-found-dead   Edit.  Spelling/spell check error.
  2. I picked up two of PSA's NIB BCGs when they went on sale.  Like you, I like them for their ability to clean up well and they run a bit better when not as wet as milspec.  But if they were anymore expensive than standard I would of went with milspec..
  3. News Girls are everywhere and while the above mention deserve a mention, I submit the following for your viewing pleasure: https://www.google.com/search?q=yanet+garcia&safe=strict&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiT_OGyzbvKAhUJ4yYKHeBSAm8Q_AUIBygB&biw=1745&bih=1042#imgrc=SHjgw9hDrCLd2M%3A Enough Said.
  4. If what you have has run your AR without fail, why change?  Unless you are after the aesthetics or maybe lightening one up etc., I would go with what you have.
  5. The difference is that Democrats file bills as or more stupid than this and they mean it.  I think it shows just how much of a hypocrite the other side is, watering down one Right while fiercely defending another.  Maybe, doubtful, but maybe it may get some to realize just how bad of an idea it is to attack the Bill of Rights.
  6. Predation or hunter left overs?  I always wondered what happened to the heads of deer I process, they are always gone a couple days after I leave the with only a tuft of hair or two left.
  7. I don't think this would change in any way, shape, or form, the locations we can carry, just give us the ability to carry without going through the permit process.
  8. I agree, if they want to infringe on our Constitutional Rights, then at the very least they should make them free and immediate.  The whole thing is nothing more than a revenue stream that the State will not infringe upon, if it was about safety they would have more meat in the classes and make many more courses available to the public.   I support Constitutional Carry, but if it where to pass in TN, I would still maintain my permit; at least until the rest of the US follows suit which will be...never.
  9. Well, with how it is now, you break the law once you are inside the posted premises; if they make this a trespass issue then you have to be asked to leave, then you will have to refuse before being subject to arrest.
  10. Well, I for one harvested a buck this year where last year I did not; just does.
  11. None I know of charge that low, it ranges from $30-50 here too.
  12. Looking at the column descriptions, I understand Antlered, Doe and Button... But what do they consider Antlerless Buck?  I don't recall seeing that option in the reporting app, but there were almost 3k harvested.
  13. I purposely left my first post short to add this now.   I would take that chance to engage an active shooter whether I or my family were in danger or not.  But I have a bit more training than the average gun carriers and have enough confidence in my training to feel that I would make a good decision on whether to take the shot or not.     This is not to say I am an expert door kicking Seal Team, Delta force, Ninja or anything, but I've been lucky enough to get some good training and have had the unfortunate opportunity to exchange gunfire in combat which gave me the knowledge of how I would react in certain life and death circumstances.  You would be surprised at how some react in SHTF situations, even combat vets.   But threads like this do give me something to consider, and should be considered by all of us; if you choose to engage you may just be on your own!
  14. There is a fine line between being combative and asserting your rights.  Unfortunately many LEOs are placed in the position of enforcement of new (and some old) laws they do not understand.     If I were to be approached in a polite manner I would show my permit and carry on, but I would certainly let him know that I was just being polite about it.  In this video, we see it begin after the first contact at Subway, were the LEO told them not to serve him.  He then followed him to a second location where at this point it enters harassment territory so he begins to record, just in case.     If the LEO had probable cause, the situation should of been handled at or just outside Subway.  So in this case, I feel the the LEO was in the wrong, either honestly doesn't know the law or an anti-gunner.
  15. No, there is no legal obligation to engage an active shooter, pickpocket, or shoplifter.  That said, if I have the chance to engage an active shooter I probably will.
  16. Same here with my 1911, must of purchased one of the rare good ones.       But honestly, besides my Jennings .22, none of my firearms have ever given me any issues.  Either I must be the luckiest gun owner, or some of these complaints are user created issues.  Even with my Jennings, all I have to do is feed it proper ammo...if and when it leaves the safe that is.  I am not much of a revolver enthusiast, I only own a BP and a Ruger BH .44, so I doubt I will look for one and unless I stumble across a good deal on one then I won't own one but its not due to the brand.
  17. Since this is a snippet of an incident I will hold judgement on his reaction; however, depending on how the patrolman approached him I may be inclined to side with the open carry guy.  LEO should know the law, and if a call comes in (which may or may not be the case here) about someone with a gun they should: approach the individual if he is being belligerent or otherwise acting out, or explain to the caller that OC is legal and unless that individual is causing problems there is nothing to do about it.   In this case, following someone OC around is wrong, and having businesses refuse him service is sending the wrong signal; just a lose lose situation.

Nice, but I like this setup.   https://youtu.be/WbERZQxfnUQ
  19. Cant read the entire article without subscribing. This one don't if anyone has the same issue.   http://www.reuters.com/article/us-colt-def-bankruptcy-idUSKCN0R320020150903
  20. Most online works like this; You order what you want, pay for it and tell them where to ship.  The shipping address is your FFL, if they have the FFL on record then they just ship it, otherwise they will ask for the FFL info.  I used Tennessee gun country, I notified them that I was shipping them something, they took down my name and cell number and contacted me when it arrived.  Just be sure you enter your name and number on the order so it arrives at the FFL well marked or your FFL if they get busy, will have a hard time knowing who the item is for.   Many Local Gun Shops (LGS/FFL) work this way:  You order the gun you want from them, pay up front most times, then when it arrives they contact you to pick it up.  Some shop won't order anything unless its from their distributers, so you get whatever price they get plus markup tax and TICS.   The difference is this; sales online can be taken advantage of and usually no tax, but you have the FFL transfer fee which most times includes the TICS fee.  LGS orders you save on the transfer portion and pay sales tax and TICS.
  21.     Pelts are sold by fur trappers all the time, even now.  Not sure if it would be worth the effort for one or two yotes though; on another site someone said they got like $50 for one, but by the tone of others it sounded like it was less, maybe $30 or so. I built a DIY caller that I want to try out, it was easy enough to make from radio shack items; its loud so it should work as well as the commercial callers.
  22. The scanner not only scans for metal but any items that show thicker than they should be, so denser areas will show.  I have had surgeries from a femur fracture that have left scar tissue on my hip which show up on the scanner.  If any anomalies like that show up you will get some personal attention, either a patdown, or like happens to me quite often, wiped down for explosive residue.    When active duty, I would set off all their alarms with all the residue I and my bags had on it; but they usually let me through after I notified them that I had been overseas; not sure how they handle that now.
