Not the original story but same guy is mentioned: http://wfla.com/2015/09/16/florida-legislature-considering-measure-to-ban-backyard-gun-ranges/

Well you can include me in that boat as well. Being retired military, I get paid by tax money, some of what I paid in while active, and some of what I am still paying into it. And yes, I do appreciate civil service; military, police, firefighters etc. At least they are providing a service for their paychecks, and many doing jobs many are unwilling to do. I may not be in that 1% that has all the money, but am in a 1% club none-the-less.

1st TN (Knoxville city) speeding ticket...any advice/tips
Omega replied to scinmyheart's topic in General Chat
VA must have that way of thinking too, they will give you a ticket for having a detector whether you are speeding or not. I disagree with the whole premise, if safety were the reason for speeding tickets then they would welcome everyone having detectors so they would slow down when it goes off; but its about the money; that is why they "hide" at speed traps. I speed, but that is to keep up with traffic flow, and the detector helps me realize that I may be speeding too fast when on a long stretch of road. I normally lock my cruise control at 5 over to maintain traffic flow but not run the risk of being the one pulled over. -
It's just a utility knife, use it until you really mess it up THEN send it back to Spyderco and make it worth the while.

Ha, just wait until this looney and his ilk take over: Bernie Sanders: A 90 Percent Tax Rate Isn't Too High http://www.newsmax.com/Politics/Bernie-Sanders-tax-wealthy-90-percent/2015/05/27/id/647105/

I thought I was losing my mind, but it turns out I am only losing posts. I clearly responded to one and started another but now they are no where to be found. Is anyone else experiencing this or am I special? Using Chrome on a Samsung tablet most times, but I believe the two were on Windows 7 machine with IE.

Clinton: Obama would be a great Supreme Court justice
Omega replied to Pete123's topic in General Chat
You are talking about the Clintons, I am sure there would be open slots for both of them is she got elected. People have a way of going away around them. -
Yea, but now they are stepping backwards by making it illegal to carry in any park that charges a fee.

Wait, it wasn't a black hammer was it? I would hate to have to buy me a stainless hammer just because some nut decided to scare some liberals with a black hammer. I just got my license on my black hammer, and barely passed the essay that time.

Hornady Superformance SST Ammunition 270 Winchester 130 Grain
Omega replied to vontar's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Hmm, I wouldn't think the gas system would change POI, the bullet should be long gone before the action has any chance to effect it. It's good you have an accurate round to go to, just make sure you stock up before Remington decides to shelf it. And the deer you harvested gave you a passing grade already. -
7-year-old accidentally shot, killed in Crossville.
Omega replied to FortKnox's topic in General Chat
Again, not trying to take all the blame away from the parents; they bear the ultimate responsibility for leaving their kids in the car, and leaving their weapon unsecure. But yes, I say even the post office should have to be responsible for their customers safety if they post their premises. -

Omega replied to FortKnox's topic in General Chat
Well you can believe I made that leap, and while I did not lay it at the feet of the business, I say it is something to consider. When a business makes a decision to post, "for the safety of their patrons", they must consider ALL their patrons. That is not to take all blame away from the parents, not by a long shot, but like I said, something to consider IMHO. Oh, and I take offense to being compared to those that blame inanimate objects, it was a human that made that decision. -
After that many wrong answers it figures why continue  jk, maybe its the ads?

No, but some here could stop a freight train; and not with good looks. In most Federal Active Shooter scenarios they teach to throw most anything you can at the active shooter, working in concert with others the shooter may be distracted long enough to be able to tackle them. Not the best solution I suppose, but one where you may have a better chance of survival than laying down and waiting for the shooting to stop.

I have not been asked by the VA or by the hospital on-post. If they ever do my answer is N/A, would hate to be later charged with lying on a Federal Form because O decided to have the ATF pursue such matters.

Just thinking out loud here...well typing anyway but; was the business posted? I know, I know, kids should not be left alone, gun should of been secured etc etc., and I agree, but was the reason the gun/purse was left behind because she didn't want to break the law by going past a posted sign? Edit for speeling. -
[Question] Looking into getting license question
Omega replied to phoenixrising's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
While it is true that a judge should have to weigh in, a question on Form 4473 states: So depending on the circumstances of the discharge, i.e. a Med Board findings, this may apply as being adjudication. If there is any question as to the legal standing; the best thing to do is to seek out a 2A friendly lawyer to help read all the fine points and make sure you don't "lie" on any of the paperwork. -
Look at the filters on the left, I sometimes filter by "participated" and it won't show anything if nothing new.

Customer gets into open carry dispute
Omega replied to NextExit's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I promote the 2nd by carrying, and supporting others who carry. I don't support one method of carry over another. Having said that, I don't think it advances the cause to be an ass about it, from either side. Many, unfortunately on both sides, have agendas and all they want is confrontation for either publicity, for or against, the cause or attention seeking. -

Did you get a diagnosis by a doctor prior to joining? I don't know what mental conditions get reported but it may prevent you from passing a background check if it meets any of the following: http://web.lexisnexis.com/research/xlink?app=00075&view=full&interface=1&docinfo=off&searchtype=get&search=Tenn.+Code+Ann.+%A7+39-17-1351 -

TEMA Declares State of Emergency ahead of winter storm
Omega replied to runco's topic in General Chat
Drove a rental truck through there once in the late 70s to early 80s, I was real glad that they had all those giant jax in the open areas to cause snow drifts. Specially when I started seeing 18 wheelers turning over. Haven't seen many of those now, just snow fences.
