  1. After my last deployment I retired, I had such a hard time resetting my internal clock that I was put on ambien.  It worked well for me, but I am leery of taking any meds for an extended period so tried melatonin.  It worked most times and didn't experience any negative side effects such as drowsiness during the day.  It did take longer to make me drowsy, so I had to take them before I knew I would have trouble sleeping that night, but I think it helped me get my sleep cycle right.
  2. Hmm, I was under the impression that TGO was social media as well.  I don't do Facebook, twitter etc., so maybe I am just missing the nuances between the two.  Oh well, I'll stick to forums.
  3. Went there but didn't poke around too much, care to enlighten me on what it is?  Looks like a collection of other gun related sites, what makes it different than just being here on TGO?
  4. Ha, I think many of us have been there; the things we do for our children.
  5. I've done it two ways, and both work decently fast for a cheapskate like me,:  the first time I set my .308 cases in a pan of water up to the necks and hit them with a torch until orangeish.  Worked good for a string of 100 rounds I needed for an event.  For the messload of 300 blackouts, I used a socket in a drill spinning just enough in a torch flame to turn them orangeish then drop them into a bucket of water to keep the heat from getting to the base.  Did over 1k that way, not speedy, but faster than the first way.  Did the whole MIL crimped primer pocket dance on those 300 blks too, and that with a Lee handheld too, at least the first 800 or so, then I used the 3 jaw Chuck to finish.  I got a press mounted version for the next 1k I convert, hope its better than the first time.
  6. That only works if the 338 Lapua ricochets off of special mall walls, and you have to be uber ninja qualified.
  7. I have one already, but as I said before, I love me some good deals.  Say $100 to get back your man card back, I take PayPal
  8. That and everyone else who is a member should delete their account, see if they care enough to put their money where their mouth is.  Less member numbers equal less ad revenue.
  9. Not yet, I suspect that will come later when his little girl wants to play tiaras and tea parties with her dad.
  10. Soooo, put you down in the like column?
  11. New coupon, see if it shows up for you guys: http://widgets.harborfreight.com/wswidgets/common/displayCoupon.do?week=0516&campaign=b&page=free2.html&cust=61390236270&keycode=1025&single=true&main=true&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=0516b&utm_source=1025&cid=mEmail_s1025_c0516b Can't beat free, I have a few of these they have a strong magnet and a hook for hands free use:
  12. Great, glad it turned out well.  BTW, welcome to TGO; you will be glad you joined.
  13. Don't get your panties in a bunch; it was a reasonable question no insult intended I am sure.  Rules apply, but the best thing to do is to get some admins to look at the situation via PMs so as not to drag anyone from either side into a public argument.
  14. Any money exchange hands? If money exchanged hands, other than banning him on the forum (if site admins warrant it) your only recourse is probably legal action. If not, leave a negative feedback and an explanation for others to see if you deem it warrants it;  Me, on the buyer side I would keep looking, on the seller side I would relist and carry on.
  15. ?? What, Glocks are in movies???  Getting another one    I never really pay attention to the guns as far as what brand they are and most times even the caliber.  Every once in awhile I'll fact check something they say about guns in movies such as when dirty harry said his was the most powerful handgun in the world (didn't get one) or when I first seen the chain gun in predator, had to see if it could be carried.  Most times I buy guns for practical purposes, such as my first Berretta 92 and ARs, train with what you carry.  But mostly I just happen upon a good deal and it happens to be a caliber I want so I get it, or I get to shoot one a friend has and I take a shine to it.
  16. You get the titanium barrels for that M134? Can you get one of these? Fun even with training ammo.
  17.     No face hits here, but I still have scars on my right forearm where the hot brass stuck while qualifying in Basic Training.
  18.     Ha, reminds me of all the push-ups I had to do in basic for eating my grits with milk and sugar, till this day I think its better than with butter and salt/pepper.
  19. I get one of these everytime I get one of these coupons and scatter them everywhere like my truck door pockets. They are cheap and even with the included (cheap) batteries they last awhile. If I ever break one, so what they were free, but have yet to break one. I do have a few Surefires which are my go to light if I need to light up the neighborhood, and a bunch of Petzel headlamps for walking around outside but these little lights come in handy.
  20. No love for them myself, I would rather have a flattop.  Just really dislike the looks of the front sight, don't know why but there it is.
  21. Yea, if it has a tin roof, the percussion is quite bad.  Try the tip Slappy posted and protect your hearing.   With a plinking firearm such as the 7.62x39, concentrate on smooth trigger pull and not on accuracy. Concentrate on your trigger squeeze, and let the round surprise you when it goes off.  Once you get better used to it, then work on your accuracy.
  22. Yea, but this does nothing for the guy with the 50 BMG next to you.
  23. It depends, are you shooting under a cover, by walls, inside gun, rifle, caliber etc etc.  I like shooting in the open, you can concentrate better and the percussion doesn't effect you as much.  What effects you more?
  24. That would be my first guess, check that the extractor is clean and does not have any brass shavings in the extractor groove. Check your spent brass to see if the primer is backing out or not, then try the o-ring, and or new extractor.
