I won't lie, I've shot left over rounds from ranges before; though never encountered that many. I have even fired some 30/06 rounds I found in a lake in en block clips (about 20 full clips) though not the ones with significant rust. But I have never knowingly purchased any reloads, even when 300Blk was hard to find, I waited until I could find the proper powder instead.
-
What type of reloads? If they are from a reputable company (remanufactured), then no issues. But if they are from Joe Bob, then I would either pass or if cheap enough, I would pull the bullets and reload with a known powder and charge.

All he had to do was ask, I'd be happy to let him use my G23 for the next video. ID 10 T

I like the idea of the non-reciprocating ones, but not enough to pursue one. I have never even seen one shoot live, just vids.

Its a good benefit as it hardens the steel in the bore and makes it last a bit longer. Melonite does the same and arguably better than chrome but it depends on where you read the comparison. Either of the two would be ok for most of our purposes though.

Since you plan on grinding bone on a consistent basis, I would go with at the minimum a #12. But even the LEM #12 I linked above says not to grind bone (according to the reviews it will do it though). Of course they mention bones on the #8 too though. Have you looked on craigslist for one? Here is one for the #8: https://nashville.craigslist.org/app/5676368833.html for $250

That's a tough issue, maybe one of those tax relief places I see on tv? When my MIL passed, my wife and her brother received a disbursement from the State (CO) and I had them tax my wife's half before disbursement. They took Federal and CO tax, but later returned the CO part when we filed there. Most that issue disbursements will ask if you want them to withhold tax, but if she was too distraught maybe it went right by her. You may want to get ahold of the people that disbursed the pension, maybe they withheld but didn't file the paperwork right, I know there is a point where they will withhold whether you want them to or not.

Poor judgment on both sides. From what I read I would have to side with the shooter on this one a bit, there is no reason to get out of your vehicle and attempt to get in the face of another driver, or attempt to enter the vehicle. Of course this is precipitated by both of them pulling over, so who knows what each of them thought was going to happen there.

**WINNERS** Christmas in July - TGO Benefactor Giveaway
Omega replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
Thank you to our benefactor(s), and congratulations to all the winners. -
I don't see the problem, but apparently they are looking to see if any charges get brought on this guy for defending his property. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/08/01/grand-jury-could-decide-charges-after-man-dies-tied-to-tree.html

I could not find what kind of motors the Weston uses, but I read that the induction motor on that particular LEM is very good, much better than the brush motor on their (LEM) cheaper models. I almost went with one of the cheaper LEM grinders until I read that they had different motors and were not US made. For non-US I might as well save a couple hundred, so I bought the $50 non LEM one. Edit - On reading about the Westons, the #22 and#32 are the only ones they will warranty for pet food use. http://www.westonsupply.com/Weston-Commercial-Meat-Grinders-p/commercial grinders.htm http://www.itsallmeat.net/which-meat-grinder-can-grind-bones/

I tried that, it works but unless you have a monster of a processor the dedicated meat grinder will run circles around it; even the extremely cheap one I have. Like I said, it may be because I stepped up from a hand grinder, which worked decently enough, to the electric I now have but it sure make it much faster. The thing I didn't like about the food processor is having to cube most of the meat before feeding it into the chute. With this one as long as the piece is small enough to fit into the throat the auger will pull it right in. I was feeding steak size pieces into mine with no issues.

**WINNERS** Christmas in July - TGO Benefactor Giveaway
Omega replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
Meh, everyone knows Christmas time is a busy time I am sure the winners will not mind waiting an extra day or two. -
You mentioned a new extractor but not if it came with the o-ring kit. Some 300 BOs need a little extra grip for some reason, if you didn't install one you may want to try it before doing any lapping of the chamber.

For that kind of money I would go with an LEM. https://www.amazon.com/LEM-Products-W780A-Stainless-Electric/dp/B00E8MADPS/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1469904134&sr=8-4&keywords=Lem+meat+grinder

Yeah, the HP rating of these grinders are deceptive. This one is rated at 3/4 HP, 575 Watts but it did seem to bog down a bit on the chunks of pork fat(didn't need to reverse). But for years all I used was a hand grinder so that may make this one a whole lot better to me relatively speaking.

I bought a Country Trails grinder from Rural King after looking at many models. For the price ~$60 at the time, I figured if it lasted a couple deer seasons I would be OK with that. It does have the plastic gears so I was wary about that, but so far I have ground over 100lbs with it with no issues. I do want a LEM, but I have to have much more use for one than I do now to justify the price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Country-Trails-Heavy-Duty-3-4HP-575-Watt-Meat-Grinder-113-/381594883935

Any interest in having an area to discuss Gun/Shooting apps under Special Interest or General Interest? I use Strelok, some reloading apps and recently installed some shooting clock apps to try out and wanted to see if any others out there were using PC, or phone apps and what they thought about them. I know I have seen a few posts here and there about such programs but it's been scattered throughout the site. Or does everyone just look at the area that pertains to the activity such as Tactics and Training for a shooting clock app and Concealed Carry for posted business' apps?

Clarification David S. Mackiernan
Omega replied to David S. Mackiernan's topic in New Member Introductions
That's why I never use my real name as a screen name, too many loons out there. I don't hide it or anything, but only the ones with a need to know will know. -
In the long run probably the lawyers. That's $2,250.00 initially and the same every year, for now anyway. So if you need to register for say five years, that's $11,250 even though you have no plans to export anything. If you challenge the law, and make it a class action lawsuit then the lawyer fee can be spread out and or maybe some of these pro 2A organizations can also join in.
-
That's a pretty good price for that bundle, though I wish it had a certified rating or at least release the results of the independent testing on those plates (the video was nice to see). Most plates run around $250-$300 a set just by themselves, so for anyone just getting a system this is definitely a good deal.

Remington 700 Police 26' Barrel Scope & Mount Question
Omega replied to The Legion's topic in Long Guns
I received my Vortex Crossfire II in the mail yesterday, it will sit atop my .277 Wolverine AR with a 20" barrel. Hope to reach out and touch some yotes and a deer or two with this puppy come hunting season. It came with a hood (and a free T-Shirt) which always seemed to cost more to purchase with other brands. -
Next we will need an FFL and ITAR registration to own lathes, files and sandpaper. Me thinks TN's law AKA Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act, will soon have it's first challenge.
-
So can you thread your own barrel? Or is it restricted only if you do it for pay? 80% receivers? Form 1 suppressors? Are there any new restrictions or has this mostly been in place for some time?
-
I'm not much into external plate carriers anymore, though I have been through a few. Currently I have a NOC Concealment System which does have an external portion if you need to go from level IIIa to level IV (plates). I use SPEAR level IV plates in the carrier whenever I want to go observe some training with aerial gunnery.
