  1. Hello everyone, I never posted anything here this year, seemed to be a lack of interest here, but maybe I was wrong. I have been posting them on LOCAL SALES NETWORK, and gun owners club. I have been giving a lot of classes this year, most I have ever done. Here’s what I have left September 18 1:00 CST Edible and medicinal plants Oct 23 8:00 CST Small and large game butchering/processing December 11 CST traps and snares If you are on Facebook you can sign up on my page there Edible wild plants and primitive living skills of Grassy Cove, otherwise call or text me at 9313350349. All these classes are free, However for the butchering class I would like a 25$ donation per family to cover the cost of the animals. Please show up if you say you are, I try and schedule all I can, and I hate to turn anyone wanting to learn away. Be prepared to hike several miles for the edible and medicinal plant classes. I have also been giving private classes to whoever has had a group that wanted them.

  3. Hello everybody, it getting to be that time of year again. Here are my classes for the year, all of these classes are free. April 4 Edible wild and medicinal plants Primitive fire building This will be given at Standing Stone State Park (bear Livingston, TN)as part of their nature rally, don’t have the times as of yet, I usually do one before lunch and one after. May 2 Crossville, TN 1:00PM EDIBLE WILD AND MEDICINAL PLANTS Class size 15, be prepared to hike a mile or so regardless of the weather, contact me for scheduling June 6 Edible and medicinal plants 1:00PM CST CROSSVILLE,TN Class size 15, be prepared to hike a mile or so regardless of the weather, contact me for scheduling AUGUST 1 Primitive fire building CROSSVILLE, TN Class size 15 9:00AM CONTACT ME FOR SCHEDULING September 19 1:00 PM CST Edible and medicinal plants-Crossville,TN Class size 15, be prepared to hike a mile or so regardless of the weather, contact me for scheduling. October 17 9:00 AM CST BUTCHERING and processing large and small game, I will show how to field dress deer a deer sized animal without gutting it or handing it up, also will demonstrate small game, I would like a small donation for this one, due to the cost of the goat and rabbits that will be used, everyone gets a share of the meat.
  4. They do excellent in full sun after they are more than 1 year old, it’s hard to start them from seeds, or much harder than digging up a already established sapling2-3 ft tall. Supposed to have more than 1 for pollination, I have heard they need to be unrelated also. When you find a thicket of them, when you start digging you will see that generally they propagate from root runner instead of seeds. I get 30+ lbs of fruit from my tree, except for this year it didn’t have very many.
  5. Edible wild plants class Aug 31 @1:00CST. Be prepared to be outside in the heat and bugs for 3 hours, we will also hike a mile or so. Class size will be limited to 15.
  6. Crossville, Tn and it will last 4 hours or so, I’ve had a lot of kids come to it at 10 and younger, we’ll let them blow a ember into a fire if you don’t mind. PM me if you want to sign up.
  7. Free primitive fire building class in Crossville, TN on June 1 @ 1:00 CST. We will cover tinder and wood selection, making charcloth, hand drill, bow drill, flint and steel, fire piston, ferrocerium rods. Improvised man made emergency tinder. Class size will be limited to 15.

  11. I understand. My work schedule requires me to work 2 weekends a month, so I am limited to what days I can have these classes.
