Dude are you seriously a vet attacking another vet over your OPINION? I'm not a mod so take this for what it's worth, but you should calm that mess down. It's not what TGO is about and we certainly aren't in a habit of attacking our fellow members and combat vets.

I think there's something to the "You never know how you'll react" argument, but alot of it is BS too. You train yourself to react and achieve. You may freeze up, you may not, but I think most people who train and have the proper mindset will do what they need to do when they need to do it.

In some states you are I believe and there's varying opinions on carrying a baton here if you have the certification. It's at least a defense to carrying it. TAZERs are like spray though for civilians, buy it, and rock it. Check out the C2. It's awesome and if your wife ever has to use it, she leaves it attached to the suspect and if she sends Tazer a copy of the police report they will replace it free of charge.

Anyway, sucks that your kid's friend won't be able to come over and I certainly wouldn't bow to the whims of the nancy-boy anti, but perhaps a conversation on neutral grounds would relieve some fears so at least your kids could hang out. I guess I would weigh how old your kid is, his understanding of the situation, and how close of a friend the other kid was. Hope it all works out.

Are you serious? I am taking responsibility for what I've said! I honestly don't even get your point. Maybe if I clarify that first post for you since that seems to be what is giving your brain the stumbles. By saying you do not have to have all the facts, I mean...YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE ALL THE FACTS! If you walk in to the Circle K and a guy in a hoodie is pointing a black gun at the Cashier what would most REASONABLE people assume? She is in fear for her life and that guy may kill her right? OK So you shoot and kill the guy. Turns out it was the cashier's boyfriend playing a prank on her with a BB gun. So did you have all the facts? Nope, you reacted with what you knew and what a REASONABLE person would have assumed happening upon that situation. It's the same across the board. You seem to be hung up on the thought that I'm advocating shooting first and not assessing the situation. That is not what I've said once.
