  1. Is ruhtard ok? Geez who let the PC police in? Are you mentally handicapped and have taken offense? Probably not. I got a Sister-in-law that's deaf guess what? She doesn't cry everytime someone makes a deaf joke. People need to quit getting offended for others. It's called thick skin grow some.
  2. I will be working 3rd shift Christmas Eve, coming home, sleeping for a few hours, getting up doing presents, over to my Mom's, home for a nap, then back to work. I'm always so glad I wanted to work in military/law enforcement/security. *sigh* Merry Christmas folks!
  3. This is why my wife and I have separate bank accounts. Bills get paid first, a little into savings, and whatever is left is ours to do as we damn well please. I told her the day we moved in together I only had 2 rules and she could take them or leave them. 1. I will never ask permission to buy something and 2. I will never ask permission to hang out with my friends. I told her I would never expect her to ask me for permission either. I'm always considerate of course and I never just blow a huge sum of money or go out with the boys on our anniversary or stupid crap like that. I don't know how many guys told me when I first got married that "that'll change in a few years", looks like I got the last laugh I reckon.
  4. I can understand that and I cannot even come close to imagine the pain that must be associated with losing a child. That being said, death in general just always makes me reflective and kinda sad. I've lost Army buddies, I've lost friends in car accidents, and I've lost most of my family. I've also put two kids under the age of 5 in body bags in the last 6 months at the hospital. That kinda stuff gnaws at you. I'm not saying a celebrity is anymore important than anyone else or more deserving of grief, but like I said before it still doesn't change the fact that a young woman is dead and a family is without her 5 days before Christmas. I may not change your mind, but I still maintain my position that it was just a pointless thing to post.
  5. I would believe he may have killed her. I know some people don't like the idea of their loved one being cut up, but I'm with you I'd want to know what the hell happened.
  6. I always lead with this, just because the question kinda irks me, but I understand the curiosity... You won't find alot of people that have had to use their gun in self-defense real open to talking about it, especially with strangers. That being said, I've never used mine. Came frighteningly close twice I'd say, but I got it de-escalated before I had to actually fire. I do have a friend that just had to defend himself awhile back. Didn't have his gun, used his knife. He's handling it pretty well, but he's not real open about it. Just glad he's here and the BG isn't.
  7. Impact heavily no, but from an entertainment standpoint you lose something. I was a HUGE fan of Sin City and Brittany Murphy's character in it. Liked it ALOT. The sequel is being worked on now and even the small parts that her character would have been in, won't be the same without her. I think it's a much more fleeting thing than if a loved one dies, but most people get to know and like celebrities in a kinda surreal way and it sucks to lose them. Especially at a young age. Someone dying at 32 is just not the norm and right before Christmas too? Additional: Jasongar8 is in the hospital. I don't know him personally, but it bothers me that he's sick and that his family and friends are worried about him. It's like that.
  8. I still just think it's a pointless thing to drop in there. It's not cruel hearted, but it's callous I think. You have time to sit and type out a post and instead of "That sucks. Sorry for the family." or "RIP" it's "I never cared for her work."
  9. Guess it doesn't make you bad, does make you seem like a bit of an ass though. It'd kinda be like if you came in here and said an acquaintance of yours died and you were kinda bummed about that and someone said "I just never cared for that guy." It's just kind of a pointless thing to post in my opinion.
  10. This is what I've been telling people all day. It may be the case, but I've seen several people come into the ER under 40 that have gone into cardiac arrest with nothing in their system. Agreed. Daniel, of course, I like you alot so I'm not really dogging on you, but what is it with the negativity lately in these types of threads? I know it's the internet and people are allowed to participate but to me this is like going in a Smith and Wesson FS thread and posting "I hate S&W. They suck!" It doesn't contribute anything but a negative comment. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I just personally think it falls under the old "Don't have something nice to say..." clause.
  11. Man I am in shock. I loved her in Sin City and alot of her movies. 32 man...WTF?! Rest in peace Brittany this year sucks total ass.
  12. Nope. Pretty much gotta wait it out. You could call after a few weeks, but with the holidays and beginning of the year coming up they will probably tell you to pound sand, call you a gun freak, and hang up while muttering something about the devil...
  13. Get a trunk monkey! Or just put Poak in your backpack. Little angry irish ninja.

  15. Hey yo yo David I'm really happy for you and Imma let you finish but Strickj had the best post of the year!
  16. As soon as I get time I'm planning on do it. I have a friend (who is on here) that works as a reserve. I was actually about to start with a small local PD here by Memphis awhile back, but there weren't enough people in my group that could pass the psych test so the class got canceled. You should definitely look into it though. I've always thought it was a cool thing.
  17. Big Foot is actually a guy named Leonard Deshivowitz and he is a fantastic PR guy from Chicago.
  18. Yea cause letting them get chewed on is so much better. You'll get comfortable eventually. I did the same thing. Carried a .38 and never thought about it, carried a 9mm XD sub and carried full mag, empty chamber for about a week. Now I carry a 1911 cocked and locked lol
  19. Well disparity of force comes into play at different times. If you get into a bar fight and dude just starts winning you can't shoot him. Now if it goes from a simple fist fight to dude trying to impale you with a piece of re-bar then...you have a different issue.
  20. MAJOR FRIGGIN' DAD?! How awesome would that have been? Man boo on TN.
