  1. I don't assume anything. Even the "I have guns" comment is just something you do under stress, it a slip of the tongue mistake. I added the comment I did to add a little levity, but also show the disparity of force issue.
  2. Stop them with laughter or terror. I like it. LMAO
  3. Well in my defense, I didn't run it. It was a 4 way, no traffic, I came to all but a full stop and then rolled on. I'm just not gonna argue semantics with an officer on the side of the road. He obviously wanted to write a ticket today so I guess i was just the lucky one. I single handedly killed all the myths though today. Permit, Army service bumper sticker, a job that is known for getting cut breaks, pleasant demeanor, etc all no dice lol Lol I knew I said too much
  4. At 6'2 250 you are going to have a hard time proving you were in fear of your life in a fist fight with anyone of a comparable size. You can't just draw and shoot because you don't want to get punched. You have to be in fear of SERIOUS BODILY INJURY or DEATH. So if he did actually pull a knife or weapon, you'd be ok. If he punches you in the face, either punch him back or walk away. Don't shoot him lol
  5. So after carrying for 4+ years and not having been even pulled over in 6+ years, I finally got pulled over today. Memphis PD in North precinct no less, where I know LITERALLY almost every police officer from the LT. down. Well not this one, just my luck. So my official weigh in on the "what to do" debate. I rolled down the window, left my seatbelt on, and rested my hands on the window just kinda drumming my fingers. He came up, asked for my license, I said " Officer just letting ya know I have a carry permit and my gun is on my hip, what would you like me to do?" He asked where my license was, told him right pocket, he asked if I minded stepping out just to hand him my license, I said sure, did so, he barely glanced at my permit, said "Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate that." I said no problem, told him what I did and where I worked, and that I understood. He smiled, nodded, and then wrote me a ticket for running a stop sign. WAH WAH WAHHHHHHH All in all though he was nice, professional, and it was my fault. Was glad he was cool about it and it did feel nice that he thanked me for letting him know. So not to start the endless debate, which I'm sure it's inevitable, but I've never had a "got pulled over while carrying" story until today so I wanted to ride the share bus too!
  6. Wow Smith lol think about it buddy. Would you want your HCP suspended because your significant other told someone "My boyfriend/husband has a gun and a HCP and he'll shoot you dead!" Meanwhile you're at home watching football and eating doritos oblivious to the situation. The only person that could be in trouble right now would be her. She's making threats technically. If she is the one verbalizing it, she is making the threat. Same as if she said "I'll bring my doberman up here and let him attack you". She's using her husband's gun and permit as the threat, but she is conveying it.
  7. I had a similar problem about a year ago where something I ordered went on back order, but I just sent them an e-mail and they took it off and sent the order out. They've always been pretty good about fixing problems and customer service IME. I just ordered some paracord and some mil-spec monkey patches.
  8. If a key opens a bunch of locks, it's a master key. If a lock is opened by a bunch of keys...it's a crappy lock. Sorry I had to.
  9. Both are pretty good points. I've always been kind of open minded about things. I mean I know certain animals exist, but I've never seen them in person so does that make them fake? Not necessarily. If these things are sick coyotes I wonder what's causing some of them to get like that in different states and if that shouldn't be a bigger cause for concern.
  10. Well at least we can all agree and rest easy about one fact. They can be killed!
  11. Blackhawk Down probably. When I was at reception waiting to start BCT they put it on for us on a weekend night. Watching that with all the guys I got to be good friends with throughout basic was a cool memory I'll always have.
  12. Seems like a stretch, but to each their own. Not really. Look, don't get me wrong I'm not a UFO chaser or Bigfoot believer, but things do pop up from time to time that have either been newly discovered or that were thought to be extinct.
  13. It's ugly for sure. Yeah, I've seen mange...that isn't frigging mange.
  14. You just described a chupacabra to the letter according to cryptozoologists. The myth used to be that they were little lizard/demon creatures, but then it changed to something that was kangaroo like. If you look at the back legs vs. the front they do have kangaroo like qualities. I just want to know what kind of disease makes a dog look like that and attack livestock, because rabies doesn't do that!
  15. It doesn't seem odd to you guys that there are dead, sick dogs that look EXACTLY alike popping up in different states? I mean this isn't exactly blurry Bigfoot or "My Uncle knows a guy who slept with this girl who's Dad saw the Loch Ness monster". I'm curious to see the DNA results from the one in Texas.
  16. I'm not much for flights of fancy, but this is kinda weird. Only a week or two ago a wildlife officer killed something that looked exactly like this in Texas. I'm not exactly buying a wide outbreak of mange on a specific breed of dog. We did have this story here awhile back to from Dickson... http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/newsworthy-reports/28108-dickson-man-believes-he-killed-chupacabra.html Walnut residents speculate about identity of strange creature - WMC-TV: News, Weather, Traffic, Radar, and Sports for Memphis, TN; WMCTV.com |
  17. I've followed the case since it happened, especially since I was still working in a training range at the time. I have a hard time believing this was a justifiable case of self-defense. I don't think anyone was truly an "innocent" victim here, because alot of actions led up to that trigger being pulled, but I don't think Mr. Coleman was in true fear for his life. That being said I doubt he is going to see a 2nd degree murder conviction. Apparently the jury has the option to consider a lesser charge and I'm thinking that is what he'll face. I guess we'll know in a couple days.
  18. I'm no fan of Steve Cohen, luckily he's not even my rep, but Herenton is an idiot. Obama may be a Socialist, but I'm fairly certain the guy can find Memphis on a friggin' map. All that being said go Marsha!
  19. I didn't even bother trying. Once I found out they filmed in NO, saw "Memphis County" on the badges in the promos, and heard they were stealing location shots during Memphis in May I wrote Drake and Zeke an email, that they read on air, completely lambasting the show. Little factoid for you guys about ole' Punisher84 here I was heavily into the local theater and movie/tv acting stuff a few years ago. Worked as an extra on Walk the Line, did some bit stuff in local theater, etc. Nothing big, but the main reason is because nothing ever comes here to be shot! This screwed hundreds of local talent out of a shot at being on a show. I hope it tanks mid run.
  20. The only three I can stand are Danny, JJ, and Peter. Some of the others are OK, like Andre and Kelly, but if Brad is still there the next time the red team loses I don't know if I'll be able to watch anymore. That dude sticks in my craw.
  21. Actually it is within guidelines. Alot of pics have been posted like that over the years I've been here. It's not overly excessive.
