Alot of people think The Road is about survival and it isn't. CM wrote the book after he fathered a child very late in life. The main theme of the book is simply a father's love for his son and (because the father knows he won't be around very long) his desire to teach him everything he can about life or what is left of it. As for the cannibalism question, you can see what people are reduced to in short term catastrophes such as earthquakes and hurricanes. I.E Katrina. Now imagine being faced with a world that has pretty much no renewing resources. There's no animal life hardly, there's no plants, and what food is left is going to be scavenged and gone eventually so what do you do? You either die or become a cannibal. In my opinion if I'd reached the point where I had to be a cannibal in a world that was dying or just dying out myself, I'd just end it. In the book there is a graphic scene where people are eating a baby the woman has just given birth to. That's the end of the rope right there folks. That's why the book isn't really about survival, maybe there's hope out there somewhere, but at that point it's very questionable. It's simply about existing.

You'd have to come by the lidocaine from a Dr. I imagine. I don't know if you can just get a scrip for it. Quik-Clot is good, but stay away from the granules. I'd get the sponges and dressings.

What all do you keep in yours Mike? I have enough stuff in mine to where I can keep myself alive, but I'm always looking to what others carry. I agree post up that list! Glad you're OK bud.

OH I'm not hating on it, I've actually always fond it interesting for various reasons. I just liked that quote from Watchmen and this reminded me of it.

Thanks Greg I sincerely appreciate that.

Well see I work hospital campus security so by the time they are seeing me the reaper on my arm is the last thing they need to be worried about lol

Studio 42 on Whitten. Guy named KP does my stuff. Jamie I've actually been wanting a reaper for awhile so that may actually be a design idea for sure! I didn't quote all your messages, but believe me it took alot of thinking about getting it on my forearm, but in the end I was willing to cover it if necessary. I work in a hospital and management doesn't care as long as it's not offensive and even when I start reserves for the sheriff's department or go full-time all I have to do is cover it in some way. If I was in a different line of work I may have not gotten it there, but I didn't take any offense to your post No Regrets does do awesome work, but everytime I've been in there they are always booked way ahead and IMO a little high priced, but there is no doubt about their talent. My first one was at Trilogy, but they are ridiculously overpriced for the work they do. And thanks to everyone for the compliments! I know tats aren't for everyone, but I enjoy the form of expression and getting the work done.

What a lame thread. Just a bunch of blank posts...

LOL so in 30 years or so I'll have a sad skull. Hopefully I'll take after my Grandfather (seems to be the case so far) and not wrinkle or sag much in my old age. He had several tats on his arms that, other than being faded, still looked damn good all the way to his death at 85.

Got this today. Took some doing to finally convince myself that I wanted an "always visible" tattoo, but I've liked this design for alot of years and am really happy with the work.

Anyone else use a ClipDraw on their gun?

You DIDN'T or you DON'T? If you're carrying a Glock without a round in the chamber you're not carrying a Glock...you're carrying a Rock. -
If I knew any kids I would. I just can't sit through that class again for no reason. I'm not saying "I know all" or anything, but I grew up hunting and shooting with my Grandpa, Uncle, neighbors, friends, etc and I remember sitting through that class at 13 just thinking "please Lord let them get on with it" lol

I'm not a big fan of purse carry, but that's how my wife carries hers. I really like the Galco side snap scabbards. It gives the gun a forward cant which is really good for concealment. Alot of people say "the bigger the gun the harder to conceal", but that's not true, it's how WIDE the gun is. I'm a tall thin framed guy and I can hide a 5" 1911 or a Kahr CW9 no problem, give me my XD9SC or a Glock...it sticks out to much for me. Inside waistband carry is going to offer the closest hold and most concealment, outside waistband is going to print unless you wear a loose shirt. Whatever type holster you get just remember that is only half the battle, invest in a GOOD gun belt. 5.11 or a Maxpedition Liger belt is what I have and I love both.

Benefactors can advertise services or sell goods I believe as long as it doesn't go against any other authorized vendor. Look in the trading post forum for the rules on it. There are a few stickies. -
Dude what the hell was she on that YOU rocking the car didn't wake her up?!

Glock armorer unless you know what you are doing. You can put the slide in a vice grip and tap the site over, but I'd be REALLY,REALLY careful doing that.

Awesome thanks! It did find me, but since it's my old Mississippi address I'll have to call tomorrow to get it sent to me at my house.

I don't have an SUV or a pool.

Thanks Whiskey!

LMAO exactly. I think it's one of those things that only gun people really put together and most other people just think "look at that guy with horrible f***ing fashion sense" lol I bought one years ago then quickly realized no 20 something year old wears crap like this. It brought more attention to me just because I looked like a dingus.

I took my class in Mississippi when I was a kid and haven't hunted since I moved to Tennessee. Of course, I have also lost my card at some point in 5 moves and 15 years. My question is can I just get a replacement card from MS and be good to hunt in TN or do I need to take the TN class?
