  1. Probably for the best anyway. They tend to cover the samilflange.
  2. It actually made Snopes due to the lack of national media attention. Alot of sentiment about reverse racism and sensationalism. I followed this case for quite awhile and it still infuriates me on a very primal level. I can't even imagine how it has impacted people who actually knew the 2 victims.
  3. Welcome to TGO! I second the applause of buying a 642. Great guns. And go Irish!
  4. It varies based on what they have to go through from my experience. People with military backgrounds and the like took longer usually, but I think some of it just depends on the magic in the machines so to speak. As far as it being sped up because you did it before with something else... Hand me your bubble... *burst* Its a new rodeo each time.
  5. I hate them. lol Ours holds heat like a freaking oven, combine that with the fact that our new house does not flow on the cooler side of the scale anyway and I'm toasting.
  6. just my opinions on it. I didn't intend to get the thread off topic, hence the "that's for another thread" comment. I apologize if my disagreeing with you upset you. As for facts, I could spend the evening linking you to multiple news stories over the past few years that haven't resulted in law suits, but I assume you're capable and since we really aren't disagreeing on anything more than a math equation of probability it would seem rather silly. I do have to ask about this though, if you want to respond... I get the "emotional", but what "financial" results are there if one is not sued? Cost to replace the bullet(s) one fired? I'm not intending that to be a smart ass remark, I'm actually curious. I also don't think calling it a "scary story" is disingenuous. If you take what you said, as an absolute (your words), then it is a "scary story". I've heard a few trainers and gun rag writers use that absolute and it's used as a fear tactic plain and simple. It's a way to shock the senses. We all know not everyone gets sued in justified shootings, if they did I imagine less people would carry overall. Now, if you tell a class of would be permit holders they "may get sued" it bounces off because of the "it won't happen to me" mentality. Now if you tell that same group "You WILL get sued" then go on to explain caution, situational awareness, etc you've basically "scared" them into paying close attention and maybe reevaluating some things. That is why I say "scary story".
  7. Just actually ordered HBO again for this. Well, this for me and True Blood for the wife. I watched it On Demand and I really enjoyed it. I love that era and when the young guy introduced himself to Jimmy as Al Capone I was hooked. One thing I love about HBO is the realism they can add and the production value of the shows.
  8. I'm not saying you can't or won't. If you recall I agreed with you about the Civil Suit Immunity statute in TN about still being able to bring the lawsuit. I just don't agree with the blanket statement of "You WILL be sued". It's just not correct. Could it happen? Yes. Will it happen? I'd say it's about 70/30 that it will. I know of several people who have been involved in self-defense shootings. All to varying degrees and none of them have been sued. That's not just in Tennessee either. It's like the sayings of "If you ride a motorcycle you'll eventually lay it down." "If you handle firearms eventually you'll have a negligent discharge." Saying "If you shoot someone you WILL get sued" is simply a campfire ghost story for permit holders. It's good in it's intention, to instill a sense of caution and respect for carrying a firearm, but it's not based in fact. Getting sued after a justified shooting is simply one of those horror stories that guys like Massad Ayoob and Walt Rauch (both of whom I have met and talked with) write about to give people who carry an idea of what can happen to better mentally prepare them for it. In summary I'm not saying you can't or won't be sued, but to say you WILL be is without fact and simply a scary story.
  9. Sorry to interrupt, but how much is this thing getting to cost to ship now on average? Lol
  10. While I am enjoying it I'm liking it less than 1&2. I know there's a build up, but he's dragging a few things out a bit I think. With the increase in commercials it's making it worse. The Shield started getting like this around Season 5 and my interest started to fade even though I hung in til the end. I hope Kurt can do better than just a big opening and finale.
  11. I gotta agree there. While it may be funny in certain company, that could be spun alot of ways by the anti-gun crowd and media. I think the site showing how many of us will not support posted businesses is a much better idea and way to go. I think this is in poor taste. Just my opinion. Also,as Robocop mentioned, lawsuits have been won for far less than posting a website full of suggestions of places to rob.
  12. Back from vacation and back to work. So far full moon syndrome hasn't been active so maybe I won't have to finish off the 6 pack of Guinness in the morning.
  13. He actually rides quite a bit I believe. I know he's a huge fan of the show. Here's a trivia fact for ya. His character's name was "Bachman" and King wrote several books and stories as "Richard Bachman". As for Opie...who thought it would be a good idea to let the biggest guy in the club start pounding shots while his girl is playing hooker in the next room?! Lol
  14. One of my favorite bands. Here's one for you, you may have heard this one though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9LnrSGyqBc
  15. So what you're saying is "God bless the camera guy!" ? Lol
  16. True. Of course they should all be dying in jail by now lol but it's tv.
  17. LOL When I saw the light in it I immediately thought of...
  18. Oh yea someone did want a hot tub pic. Well I hate to disappoint!
  19. Made it back safe and sound and has a blast. If you're into hiking or just want to get away it was absolutely beautiful up there!
