I take the bible with a grain of salt. I believe it is a guidebook on life for Christians, but one cannot forget it was written by MEN and has been altered over many years. That being said I'm not going to continue down the religious side of the thread because I don't think this has to do with religion. This has to do with gays serving openly in the military and the opinions of their peers.

Yup. Eventually it just becomes like anything else you toss on. I love this time of year though because a jacket or especially a hoodie is a great cover garment. I bought a zip-up hoodie for 10 bucks at Target the other day and it is now my favorite "big gun carry" cover garment.

LOL no that stemmed from a conversation with my friend the other day about Halloween/Samhain, etc. I'm really proud of my Irish heritage and it's not a secret to anyone that knows me lol but he said "I don't get why the church folk make such a big deal over kids going out to get candy." I then go into the druids, Samhain, etc. He just looks at me and says "So it's because they hate the Irish?" I just fell out laughing.

And probably lucky for the little girl he doesn't have a deep fear/hatred of midget clowns!

I think, take that FWIW lol, that the concept is to identify first, but then use the muzzle blast for follow up shots in case of light failure, etc. It's pretty much a police and military tactic I'd guess. Utilized during an already active firefight where there is clear threat identification.

As far as jokes go I can't tell you how many times I've traded verbal judo with my gay friends at work. "Fairy" and "Mick" are common traded jabs. I think there's a difference between friendly joking and outright hatred. I get that the Bible says homosexuality is wrong, but I think it's funny how people prioritize things in the Christian religion. God said sin is sin and the only thing that will send you to Hell is denying him. I don't want to veer off into THAT whole argument, but the way I've always understood it and been taught is that while the bible does say homosexuality is a sin, we are all sinners and no better than our fellow man. I always liked "Let he without sin cast the first stone." My view is get your own house in order because that is what is going to matter in the end, YOUR CHOICES. Not the choices of others.

I have done a fair bit of low-light training. I enjoy it quite a bit.

Not getting personal at all, I just know that no one debates on a view unless they have a reason for or against it unless they are a troll. You're obviously not trolling, I just wondered what you're experiences are or world views to make you against it. I'm for it because I've dealt with the situation and it was a complete non-issue for the guys in my platoon in basic. I'm certain there are people who have issues with it, but there are always going to be those people on every issue.

I know the people I served with didn't care, I know people who are still in don't care. It seems that only homophobic self-righteous Christians and a few "old-dog soldiers" are the only ones who are up in arms. I do wonder why are you so against it?
