  1. Oh my god dude I never even saw that thread. That is too f'ing funny lmfao! In other news you guys are all dead.
  2. I'm sure they appreciate you laughing at them. I used to work at Hickory Ridge Mall, not in security, but you'd be surprised how many of those guys aren't the Barney Fife's you'd expect them to be. I don't mean wannabes either. We had former Marines, off-duty cops, etc. The not being armed thing isn't what they'd prefer, but a job is a job and they also don't usually engage suspects to that point anyway.
  3. Yea we got a saying for that...AIN'T LEGAL! lol That "item #7 No weapons allowed" on the sign pushed off to the side of the door is not a legal posting.
  4. Still wearing the goat leggins huh buddy?
  5. Hey no worries. It's the internet, if no one ever took something the wrong way it'd be boring.
  6. I agree on the devil thing. I've never bought devil decorations or had a desire to wear the costume. I don't find it as big of a deal as some, but it's not my thing. I do have the tombstones and ghosts, etc though. I really do believe it's what YOU make of the holiday. It can be a fun time if you choose.
  7. Same here except it can get insane fast. 3rd shift at a hospital is either what I call "horror movie quiet" or it's full tilt. I love it though.
  8. Yea and I get that. That's where my point about misinformation kinda stems from. I'm sure there are people who use it for such purposes, like devil worship, but I never got the wide over condemnation of it. When I was a kid I went to a private Southern Baptist school until 6th grade. We always had a huge Fall festival thing with games and candy and prizes and we could dress up, as long as it wasn't scary. I always went, but my Mom and several of my friend's moms were kinda rebels I guess and always took us trick-or-treating afterwards too. It made some of my happiest childhood memories. I've always loved Fall and Halloween. It's just a fun time of year for me and it truly makes me happy so I'm always a little put off when people tell me I'm celebrating the devil, even if it's not directly. I think it just really goes back my core belief that I don't want the government or the church running my individual life. It's kind of a "Can't we all just be left alone?!" issue for me.
  9. Like I said earlier, I did my basic training at Fort Knox in 2004. We had time at night and in the morning to shower and shave before lights out and before formation. Most guys would just go in, get it over with and roll on. Some guys would wait until everyone was out for various reasons. Now some schools that have smaller groups and stricter time limits may be that way, but again that could easily be fixed by putting in stalls.
  10. Ok first off, to the powers that be I'm hoping this doesn't violate the "religious thread rule", but if it does I understand if you gotta lock it. The above being said I'm just gonna beg everyone to keep it civil. I'm not posting this to debate religion. I'm posting it to have a discussion on my favorite holiday and misinformation. It stems from the comments section of the article mostly, if you read them I'm "Arrow". 11. I think the basic problem is that people think that gays are just going to be all over some dude in the shower once they can be "out". Many of us here have told you it's just not the case. The showering thing is a minimal amount of time spent out of each day. We're saying it's a non-issue because it is. If you know that 2 guys in your platoon are gay and that bothers you then just don't shower with them. It really is that easy. At most, yea the military can put up stalls in the shower. Easy as that. As far as things changing since your Dad was in, he's probably what, late 40's early 50's? Depending on when he left out then yea I'd say things are much different. In my view the shower thing comes down to one thing and one thing only and that is the mentality that "I don't wanna shower with the homos." Well no one is going to force anyone to.
  12. I think it's the holier than thou attitude and the inability, decision, whatever to realize your question has been answered repeatedly over 20+ pages. Most people end a debate when they come to a dead-end on winning over the other side. Once you kept going, well...that's when people started cracking jokes. As for the law school intelligence jab, well I know alot of dumb lawyers. You're still new here, buck up, you'll grow a thicker skin eventually. We're good guys! I bet most of us wouldn't even check you out in the shower.
  13. I used to think like that when I was selling them, then I bought my Kimber and slapped some on...I was very impressed. The thing for me is the "pop" they give during sight alignment. My eye is immediately drawn to that front sight. I'm not saying they are a necessity, but I know that I got much faster shots on target during drills with them than I did without them.
  14. I've never had it. Don't believe I've ever seen it actually. What's the differences? I wanted to pull a line from The Replacements "I'm bloody Welsh!", but hey if the shoe fits lol
  15. I really don't care about cost I care about taste. I'll drink Bud Light and Coors light, but my preference is Guinness. When it comes to liquor I can be about the same except for Vodka. I like expensive vodka. I've gotten pretty set though on Guinness and Jameson.
  16. Until we got HBO that was how my wife was going to watch the last season of True Blood, but then Boardwalk Empire started up so I said screw it. I still want to do that though.
  17. I thought some levity was in order here today so here ya go! Mild language heads up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S77dRFffKoc
  18. Hmm I'd say shooting a suppressed MP-5 was pretty damn cool. However, shooting my friend's Wilson Combat Tactical Supergrade was smooooooth! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Damn did everyone go to Ft. Knox? Lol I miss that place I wanna know when this became a shower thread in the last few hours? 8 billion pages about washing your ass. Did dude have a bad experience at camp or something? For me it's simple, if you're gay and scoping me out hey thanks for the confidence boost, just don't get any ideas because I'm only giving a confidence boost to the blonde gal in the unisex showers! How gays got tied in with hormonal frat boys is beyond me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Very cool. I love the Fallout games and have Fallout 3 GOTY edition, but this past year has been crazy and I'm barely a few hours into it. Guess I'll be a bit behind on getting Vegas, especially since I just got Red Dead Redemption.
