  1. Man I haven't been tailgating in so long. My schedule kinda kills it. Sounds like a winning idea for me though lol
  2. I gotta ask Will, why the hell do you carry? Are you hoping for that magical situation that allows you to draw, check your chamber, get in a weaver stance, then fire 2 perfect COM shots? Come on man get real. I'm no badass and I don't claim to be, but I have drawn my gun before, I have had guns and knives pulled on me at work and off, and I know how I'll react. I've trained for it, thought about it, and so far have managed to survive. This whole mentality you have thinking it's an old west street duel is mistaken. If someone is within reach pointing a gun at you there are quite a number of things to be done other than **** your pants and prepare to see Jesus. They may kill me, but I'm gonna make them work to do it.
  3. Wasn't there a website with funny pictures from red light cameras? Seems like I remember a guy in a gorilla mask or something lol EDIT: Can't find anything so maybe it was photo shopped or I'm imagining crap again!
  4. Well people are always going to root for their side, but neither Olbermann or Williams violated "laws". They only went against their terms of employment. The difference here is that Juan Williams had been commenting on Fox News for quite awhile, he was fired over what he said. Olbermann was simply suspended and he actually violated his employment terms.
  5. Agreed. Based on what Adam has said about the way this went down I don't really agree with either party's actions. Despite how I may come across here sometimes I'm a pretty reserved guy in public and at work. I defuse far more events at work than I have end up escalating. That being said, if someone pulled a gun on me, they are at the very least going to have a scuffle on their hands. Obviously in this case it wasn't necessary to kill the guy, but had this been a one on one in a parking lot with what I deemed as a legitimate threat...I believe the story would have ended on a more somber note.
  6. I don't know how I'd feel after I fired, but I know how I felt after I drew my weapon and came within a fraction of a second of firing so I would hope and think it would be at least similar.
  7. Well by all means wait and find out if the person who pulls a gun on you is only bluffing. BTW what is too "old" to kill you? I wasn't aware there was a cut off. Just because Adam's friend got lucky doesn't mean everyone will or that he will next time. I've taken YEARS of martial arts and done gun and knife take aways. Sometimes you get lucky. Mostly you don't. If he pointed at my friend he'd have been in the ER or morgue. That's not "bold talk". That's a statement of pure fact.
  8. You have to say that in the "monster truck derby commercial announcer" voice. SNAKE SLAYER!!!!
  9. We agree then. I don't drink when I carry and while Guinness may be a meal in a glass, well it's not the right one lol
  10. Should have just said: Dear Mr. Haslam, Please don't let the scary rednecks have guns and vote to give my liberal unemployed ass health insurance. Much Socialist love, Bitch.
  11. I know you're against "bar" carry for the rest of us, but why LE too? If they aren't drinking why should they be unarmed? I would think a bar might be the prime place to meet an angry felon you put away. I've never understood how a certain place can supposedly change a person into a gun wielding psycho. Under the influence of alcohol maybe, but as a DD looking out for his friends?
  12. MSNBC suspends Olbermann over political contributions | The Upshot Yahoo! News HAHAHAHAHA Suck it Olbermann!
  13. It's not a cowboy duel. You don't just stand stiff, draw, and fire. Let me put it this way, if I can shoot him I will. If I can't, then he is about to have the fight of his life if he's within a few feet of me. I actually have no problem that Adam's friend disarmed the guy. If you can do it, do it. I worked with a guy who brought a knife to a gunfight once, he went home. The other guy didn't. It's all about what you're personally capable of and willing to do.
  14. I'm not gonna comment on the story as told because I've seen people do strange stuff when confronted, but I'd have shot the guy. I'll agree with Dave on one point, I am not tied to my gun, but I'm not gonna wait for a shaky drunk to quite possibly shoot me or my friend.
  15. LOL people used to call me that when they'd get mad at me from our group. I never understood it, I was like aren't we all posing as something simply by dressing in any fashion? That always shut them up.
  16. There are some subtle differences in a few of the groups, but the EMO kids are definitely the ones with the make-up, hair, and "woe is me" attitude. When I was in school we had "skaters" "goths" "preppies" and so forth. I was, for a while, a skater kid. Basically I wore Airwalk shoes, JNCO jeans, and band t-shirts and hoodies for about 2 years and had an earring. That wasn't a lifestyle for me though it was just how I dressed sometimes. I still had ZERO problem throwing on the Wranglers, boots, and jumping into the truck to go fishing lol
  17. The problem isn't giving a well spoken and accurate interview. If I even remotely thought that was the case I'd contact her, meet her, buy her a cup of coffee, and give her a representation of our side from a good, solid, middle ground. The problem is it won't make a difference. If it was a live TV interview I'd go, but print can be chopped up like crazy.
  18. Well said...as usual. If you ask me what it is...it's a bar. If you ask the state of TN for a technical answer...it is a restaurant. Why is that? Because the ABC don't enforce shizzle!
  19. It's not noticeable at all to me. I wouldn't carry a 1911 without one anymore actually.
