  1. Did the same crap when I worked retail. I was an Asst. manager at a bookstore in the mall and they had a big memo come out at a meeting about not saying Merry Christmas, but Happy Holidays. Only the Store Manager stuck to it, the rest of us said Merry Christmas and no one cared. The only people that care are the ACLU who want to see their name in the paper, and stay relevant, and the one person who complained somewhere at some point. I just don't understand how it's being intolerant to celebrate a holiday we have celebrated here for so long. If someone wishes me a Happy Kwanzaa I'm not gonna get bent out of shape, I mean hell at least it's a well wish. Maybe that's the answer, maybe we should just start saying "Welcome to Wal-Mart! Go **** yourself!"
  2. Just find free sites that ask for an email and password. Sign him up. They'll spam him to death I'm sure. Either that or just use his email to sign up for everything in your junk folder.
  3. Thanks and Congrats to you as well! It's been a rough week but it's not been nearly as hard as I thought.
  4. Yeah I'm curious to hear that whole story as well. Getting tagged property back from a PD is alot harder than getting it back from a security department at a hospital you're already at.
  5. I've never been out of shape necessarily, but I'm not where I want to be. I have finally nailed down a cardio/weight routine and managed to quit smoking. With my job and the things I enjoy doing I still want to be in shape to do them in 20 years!
  6. Yea we usually are waiting at the desk when ya'll come in where I work. We get alot of shooting drop offs at our ER so we've all gotten pretty used to securing stuff on our own before MPD ever makes the scene. Joys of working in the ghetto!
  7. This. Most ambulance crews will leave it alone unless it just has to be moved out of the way and when they call the ER to notify them you are coming, they notify the ER staff, who in turn notifies us. We take it, tag it, and put it in the safe. As long as there isn't anything weird it's returned to you when you leave the hospital or to a family member with your consent when you're coherent. I say "weird" because I've taken several guns off of people in the ER when they got brought in who went straight into cuffs when they came to get it back. Not everywhere does it, but we make sure we're giving the gun back to someone who has it legally. Funny thing is people seem to carry them illegally here in Memphis.
  8. That's honestly why my interest in hunting and fishing has peaked again. I realized that I can hunt and fish and know how, but I know very little about the particulars of skinning, etc. I think a years worth of food storage is a good investment, but after a while you're either going to be living off the land or scavenging. If you're talking an apocalyptic scenario. It's really a shame we've become so dependent on things to keep us alive. When you look at it realistically, the scenarios were so terrified of used to be called "Wednesday" just a century ago.
  9. Could have just been reflex, but like Jamie said there are plenty of older folks out there that aren't exactly soft.
  10. That kinda reminds me of the fight between Patrick Swayze and the "tough bad guy" in Roadhouse for some reason lol Once they got in the water I was like "Get him Dalton!"
  11. Yeah but you're in the top, middle part. I'm in the bottom, westerny part.
  12. It is now. Sign and/or similar language is all that's required. I work in hospital security and my facilities aren't posted, but we still have a policy against it. Most likely they will just ask you to leave, but you can't always bet on that. The thing about the "cig buster" sign is that it's actually illegal to smoke ANYWHERE on hospital property after Nov. 2007. They can write a ticket for it, but really nobody cares unless the Admin people wanna fire employees.
  13. It must have stopped at Al Gore's house, because I'm at 27 here.
  14. The power going out in the hospital just means the generators finally died, doesn't mean the power grid failed. They could have been off the grid for several days. The Dr. at the CDC said something like a few months from initial outbreak to the last episode. If you figure by the time Shane was trying to get Rick out of the hospital things were already pretty bad a few weeks of grass growth is not all that far fetched. I doubt even Hank Hill is dedicated enough to his lawn to mow it in a zombie outbreak.
  15. It's really not that bad. I go to the zoo all the time, never had a problem. I don't believe it's properly posted anyway. It is technically in Overton Park, but the zoo is private property.
  16. Thanks DB! Daelith I'll send you a copy of the video. They didn't put it on the site for some reason.
  17. Thanks Mike. Had a great time doing it. Paying for it today though. I'm sick as a dog lol I guess even with tons of gear on 34 degree temps don't play around.
  18. I do want to take a second though to say I'm not posting this for any "atta by" props or anything, but this is the kinda stuff we should all be doing. For example,The Christmas PIF thread is a great thing TGO does and I'd encourage you all to donate if it's not too late this year, if so try and do so next year. And if any of you are interested in donating toys, posting flyers, or riding with us next year PM me. Big thanks to Halfpint and Kimberchick for all their help and to Daelith for bringing the H.O.G members out!
  19. Got a really cool opportunity to be a Memphis area committee member for the 3rd Annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run this year and the run was today. We had about 60 bikes total from Memphis, Dyersburg, and Jackson. We managed to raise about 200 toys for the Marines. Really put me in the spirit and reminded me what Christmas is all about. Posting up some pics below.
