45 GAP and 10mm will probably always have their fans, like the .44 special. Not overly popular, but enough customers to hang in there.

"He bade me tell this story so all that should hear it, would remember bold Leonidas and his brave 300." "Today the world will know, that few stood against many." "There are of course those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, orders are being shouted into telephones, and men with guns will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense." "People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people."

That will never happen though. It's just some nutjob liberals wet dream. You wanna start another civil war? Enact some of the crap he's talking about. people will only be pushed so far in this country.

Pretty good article I ran across tonight

Pretty good find. I'm curious about the quote of the Tennessee house repealing the park carry law. Any news on this?? -
Is this going to be a range gun or a self-defense gun? If it's a range gun you could try the Walther, a Beretta Neo, Ruger Mark 3 or 4, and Browning Buckmark models. For self-defense a .22 is not going to cut it. If that is all she will carry then true it is better than nothing, but there are many more avenues to explore before choosing a .22. I have an XD9sc and I assume if she thinks it's snappy she must be a rather petite lady? If so have her try looking at a Bersa Thunder .380 or a Walther PPK. Maybe a larger 9mm to hold the recoil better.

Welcome to Memphis! We need to have a sign at all entrances to Memphis "If you have stuff you don't want stolen, especially things like fully automatic firearms, don't stop and eat ON THIRD STREET!!! Enjoy your stay in our neighbor-HOOD."

A muzzle in the dirt is never a good thing, period. Basically it's one of those things that is fine if the ground is solid, but it's bad weapon retention. I like single point slings, but you have to train with them properly. If that had been Iraq or Afghanistan or in the dirt on a rainy day that guy has got a crudded barrel and that can cause problems. Some of the people training I'm sure are civilian contractors and are trying to get some refresher or advanced skills from the class. Others are probably just having fun and it's not a serious effort for them.

I could maybe do that. I'm with DB let me know a time.

Marswolf, I remember in first grade bringing a really nice cap gun my dad bought me in for show and tell. Nobody seemed to care back then. Strange times.

Don't work downtown. I'm out by Germantown, but I'm up for something maybe.

It's considered a Class 1 Firearm Curios and Relics and yes they have to be transferred and handled like a regular firearm.

Gonna jump back in on this real quick for a quick clarification. Quality training is great. Take it, use it, but know WHY you are taking it. If you wanna take a "high-speed tactical training course" go ahead, hey it could come in handy. I just don't like people who have completed the 2 day "High-Risk Tactical Level 8 Responsive Defender Course" from "Tacti-Cool U" and then walk around the shop or range like they know it all and then they can't hit an 8" pie plate at 3 yards. Get training, but be able to shoot before you think you're all "high-speed."
