carry ing a gun and asked to leave hypothetical
Punisher84 replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
You're one of them Brady people aren't you? Seriously though man, the law is pretty clear on what will happen if you carry in a place that is not properly posted and get caught. I can tell you this from working security for a hospital that they will escort you out and tell you to leave property. Most officers/guards will not wait until you cross the property line, but they want to see you walking toward it. If you come back armed and are caught you can be charged with criminal trespass. You'll be cuffed and taken to the office, a police officer will come out, write you a citation for court and cut you loose. That's about it, but if you push it or go looking for trouble you'll find plenty. Get the wrong cop or some guard that is law smart or is an ex-cop and you might have just the right charge to keep you from getting your permit back. My advice? Conceal it, don't worry about it, and quit posting bad intentions on a public forum. Like Momma said, cross that bridge when you come to it. -
Thank God I'm not the only one!

Uncle Ted is awesome. Ted Nugent saved my life!! Long funny story but actually in a way he did keep me out of a bad situation in a round-about way. I've always been a big Miami Vice fan and one day I had to go to Kroger to get some cleaning supplies. I'm on my way out the door and happen to catch the last 15 minutes of a Vice episode with Ted in it, so i sat down to watch. I then left and went up to Kroger. I'm about to get out of my car when cops come screaming up from everywhere. About 5 minutes prior there had been an armed robbery at the bank inside and they shot the teller (she lived luckily). I was 20 at the time so no gun, no permit, and by my calculations I would have walked in the door right about the time they were doing the deed. Would anything have happened to me? Who knows, but wither way I always thought that kind of an odd coincidence.

Good post. Military life isn't for everyone. Not everyone needs to be in. As long as they appreciate the men and women who do/did the job, they are cool with me. I just can't stand the people who won't sign up then bitch about the way the military does the job.

Huckabee makes stab at Obama at NRA Meeting
Punisher84 replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I hate Obama, but yea that's in bad taste. That's just what we need more of is for gun owners to be associated as dumb rednecks with assassination in mind. -
Way to go! Just glad it wasn't worse.

A good thing to invest in is find a place that sells or go to Wilson Combat's website and order their complete 1911 handbook. I got a copy from work and it is the best (my opinion) 1911 guide out there. 1911s take a bit more fine detailing than some other guns. Depending on what you wanna do with it.

Silver slide on a Glock, another duracoat job...

Now I know what you do when you're not shooting IDPA Evan! Painting Glocks!!! -
Buy you a pint of ...Well you know. Don't they issue you guys EOTechs on your rifles anyway?
-
I'm in the same boat deciding on an EOTech or AimPoint. I'm thinking AimPoint just because of the reticule...

One thing I'd be aware of is that ATI stocks are not for any type of durable use. If it's gonna be a sit around occassionally shoot, HD type gun you'd be fine. Just don't expect to get alot of mileage out of it. I've seen more than a couple break due to people trying to work them hard, i.e shoot them a bunch.

That's all generations though. That's why parents try so hard to make a better life for their kids. The thing is though, my generation has seen the fastest economical, technological, and society growth of any generation before us. I'm 23 years old and look how much has changed just in the past 5 years since I got out of high school. Gas has gone up 2 bucks a gallon, phones are the size of money clips, and you can get on the internet anywhere! My generation is not the greatest, but remember this... It's the video game generation that is fighting a war in Iraq and Afghanistan, it's the video game generation that is patrolling the streets day and night, it's the video game generation that is fighting for change. It is also the video game generation who will take up the 2nd amendment fight after the elder generation is done talking down to the younger generation.

You know I hate to play Devil's advocate here, but it's the older set that has put this country in the shape it's in. Not the under 30 crowd. Take a look at the president, congress, and senate. They are all over 40. Generalizations about generations are useless. It is always the few that stand out the most and the many who just carry on and DO.

Nice choice!

Since Voldemort said a 1911 I'm gonna say that Satan doesn't need a gun, he just lets Voldemort run around telling everyone they are wrong and suing them.

Passengers with HCP and car gets pulled over
Punisher84 replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
It's like anything else though. Especially on forums, it's generally the bad encounters that make it on here. There are something like 200,000 permit holders in TN right? You can figure at least a few of those get pulled over or have some interaction with LEOs a month. Now, I'd say a case would be made for not saying anything if this was a frequent occurrence by every cop on the street, but it isn't. Any officer that acts that way AFTER a valid permit is shown to him needs to go sit through the 8 hour class and watch that state video. Then if he does it again yank him off the street, because he obviously has issues. I'm in favor of showing the permit, but I'm against anyone acting like an ass. No matter which side of the car window they are on. -
Oh dear Lord... I agree with Rabbi. I warned you all of this! Shield your first born, close the shutters, stockpile the MREs!!!!!!!! :D

It varies on how many are going through the system and your background. How much they have to dog through has alot to do with it.

Passengers with HCP and car gets pulled over

I am convinced there is a video on youtube somewhere of the Rabbi being beaten down by a bunch of huge blonde hair blue-eyed cops chanting anti-semitic remarks, because there is no other reason a person can have that much disdain for a profession. I have found a middle ground and at least been able to see a POINT behind everyone else's answers in this thread and the other on this related issue, except yours. You moan and groan about your rights and how the boys in blue are gonna strip them away in the night, but I wanna know what the hell you contribute on a daily basis that makes you better than those that do the job every single day! Why don't you take off the tin-foil and pop the V for Vendetta dvd out of the player for a minute? That being said a person with a HCP in a passenger status should do what they feel as I said in the other thread. Volunteer the information or don't. Any cop who takes your gun and unloads it after he knows you have a permit should be reported. I'm not one sided here, but geez some of this has got to stop. Insanity. -
Yea you do Creeky. It's in the code of the redneck handbook on page 68 right next to the proper way to trim your handlebar moustache. I swear they need to make those badges illegal.
