Crazy first Wal-Mart gun buying experience...
Punisher84 replied to BrandonTN's topic in General Chat
I was in Wally Weird one afternoon picking up some ammo to head to head out shooting and I got caught up with the guy behind the counter. He,like me, had just recently got his permit and was complaining about not being able to carry it at work. I jokingly told him I had mine and if anything happened I'd back him up while he loaded a shotgun. Not a minute later this kid walks up holding an empty magazine. He completely interrupts our conversation, shoves the magazine towards the clerk and says "I need da bullets for dis." The clerk looks at me and then looks back at the thug and says "Sir, what caliber ammunition do you need?" The guy goes " I don't know man. Whateva bullets dis thing takes." The clerk tells him he can't sell him ammo without him knowing what caliber the firearm takes, for safety purposes. The guy gets mad and walks off. The clerk turns to me and I'm just standing there shocked and he deadpans "You wanna hang here for a minute while I grab that shotgun." Another day at Wally Weird. -
I have a buddy who works for Communistcast and he swears they are Nazis. I hated Time Warner worse though.

Yea I can vouch for that. We work together at our "other jobs" and he is definitely a teddy bear. Why, I remember just the other day while he was beating this gu...I mean informing an upstanding citizen of his miranda rights. Nah he's a great guy and a good friend. Seriously though, guys like EMT, myself, and alot of LEOs I deal with everyday have just as much disdain for the bad apples as you guys do. I think where the US V. THEM thing comes in is what I have now dubbed "internet tone". In the age of information we still haven't caught up to a way to always read the intention of a post. This causes things to come off wrong on alot of occasions. I would be willing to bet if every member in this thread sat down and had a drink together, we might not all go home with the same opinion, but something tells me we would have found a more common ground. The sad state of affairs is simply this, it is the idiotic few that become the poster child for the courageous many. That is true of LEOs, permit holders, military personnel, and any job in general.

LOL Yea I know, but I grew up watching Vice reruns and my mom played the hell out of Phil Collins. I may be young, but I am definitely nostalgic for a time I never lived in

I'll definitely concede something in your post Abominable, Narcotics guys are a different breed. Sadly, they have to be, but yea not gonna be a fun stop. One of my friends is on SWAT and I have heard, by more than one fellow officer, that if he pulled over Jesus he'd ask him to step out of the vehicle. Now don't get me wrong he's a good officer, but he is definitely the hard line type that is not afraid to ruffle a few feathers. That's great when dealing with the right people, not always great pulling Granny over...

Yea, that's a conversation ender right there lol.

It is definitely more prevalent here than I've seen on other forums, BUT I will also say this, TGO contributors tend to be on a majority willing to debate rather than argue and try to see both sides of things, but you do have a few people who are very rooted in screaming MY RIGHTS MY RIGHTS!!!!! at the top of their lungs and can't or won't look at it from an officer's standpoint. I think the "cop bashing" comes more from a distrust of the government as a whole, than individual officers. I also have to say I'm in the middle on this topic. Like Rabbi said, if you really have probable cause you don't need permission.

Why does everyone think my generation is ruining the world? I by far don't think we are the best, but I can't say we are the worst. I was an Army man myself and I'm about to be a police officer. I've debated similar topics before and I can see both points. Really what it boils down to is probable cause. If it's good enough, it will withstand. If it's not, well, "Have a nice night Sir."

Wow. Yea because that will work. Hand me my brick wall icon, forthwith!

Glad you're ok man! I'll be the first to say it...There are 2 types of gun owners those who have already had an AD and those who will.

This how it starts! Join the NCPA (National Cell Phone Association) and preserve your rights! Do you know without the NCPA that there would be no flip phones because of the Clinton Flip Phone Act (they said it acted to much like a switchblade) or camera phones under the Bush Privacy Act (camera phones could potentially take pictures of government agents) and without the NCPA there would be no Bluetooth technology! Things to consider in the next election folks! (Make all checks payable to NCPA: care of Punisher84)

Yea they've bickered at each other way more than they've tried to fight McCain. I don't see them as a likely ticket. I am very curious as to who McCain will pick though.

Mentally prepared to pull the trigger??
Punisher84 replied to RASHGUNNER's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Then I guess, like a cheap hooker, I'm gonna get screwed! Seriously though, that is a valid point. I had a conversation with a gentleman last night at work about how he was planning to carry his gun. He wanted to carry it in a shoulder rig under a polo shirt. As politely as I could I said "Sir, if you ever need to draw it in under 4 seconds, you'll be dead." It's the age old argument of how deep is to deep? If you can't get to it when you need it, it's like not having it. -
Alot of times searches will be made, but then thrown out because of lack of evidence supporting the RC/RS. That's why it is in an officer's best interest to not just go willy nilly wanting to search everyone's vehicle on a wild goose chase. As EMTRN said, they will lose credibiity, with the department maybe not as much, but with the courts, definitely.

And he was my favorite DA on Law and Order *cries on Rabbi's shoulder*
