1. Court. The final frontier. These are the adventures of a few idiots. Boldly going where no one with sense has gone before.
2. ^^ Agreed. My personal view is that the certification is good enough, but I did not always hold that view and Fallguy even got an AG opinion stating he did not believe the certification met the same "defense" criteria as an HCP. I loved having it at first at work, but now it just stays on the belt. Like you said it's a proactive tool. "Comply or get beat!" basically. I'm not trying to be an ass to the OP, but I think he wants a "bat belt" of gear to apply to every situation hoping the gear will save him as opposed to his own abilities.
3. We are issued Freeze +P at work, which is fine, but I love Fox Labs. Yea you get caught with an expandable baton on campus you are going to have some explaining to do. That little training card you get isn't a sure thing either. Alot of the pseudo-lawyers here (no disrespect guys, but we all know what we are and aren't) say "it's a defense the same as the HCP", but I know plenty of LEOs who have said they would most likely charge someone carrying one if they weren't security or something that required them to have it as part of their job. So take that for what it's worth. I don't know your background so try not to take this personal, but sounds to me like you are over thinking things. It's fine to want to be prepared, but you are gonna need a damn duty belt to carry all that crap around. You're not a cop, you're not a security officer, and carrying all that crap around makes you look like a wannabe who doesn't know what to do with all the stuff he's carrying around. Same as people who pack a go-bag with 50 pounds of crap they don't know how to use. You'll do what you want to do, but I'm telling you from experience get some spray, learn to defend yourself, carry your gun when you can, and leave the magical expanding stick at home.
4. All good and well, but the OP is talking about carrying his.
5. Some states cover batons under their permits. I think KY is one, not positive though. I'll be blunt though, I think carrying an ASP is a waste of time and could potentially screw you up legally. I carry one at work, but I've never used it on anything other than a window. Unless you really know what you're doing and practice with it alot you are going to either be ineffective with it, get it taken away from you, or overkill it and mess someone up beyond what you legally should have. They also suck in tight spaces and take alot to bring into action, especially if you're concealing it. My advice is get some self-defense training and a can of good pepper spray for where you can't carry a gun. Leave the baton alone.
6. No I think he means what he said. As in, he owns one. It can go either way.
7. God bless I hate the ****ing news. 1. This only applies to people born after 2009 and 2. It applies to Eastern astrology not Western. Nothing changed.
8. LP hope it works out for you brother. You also have a pm from me.
9. Whew. Especially during the summer. LAWD help us!
10. Got around 5 inches give or take.
11. I'm sorry you did too. You'd probably make a great politician. Alot of people like you hold high office. Mainly because some idiots will vote anyone in.
12. I wonder if Guy is just good at ducking punches...
13. I think it's funny they are giving him hell over there too. What a tool.
14. Do you just read into things what you will or what? Your cute little jabs and observances of what you THINK people are trying to say are ridiculous. Nobody has advocated anything like what you just posted. You want to act like an arrogant ass and talk yourself up like you know alot, but in reality you just want to pick an argument by being all cutesy. Why don't you put on your big boy pants and have an intelligent debate with the rest of us? Or would you prefer to just keep on acting like a third grader trading playground insults?

SNOW!!!

I always have to work so snow or not I'm back at it Monday night. Should have gotten a regular 9-5 like everyone else in the world.
16. IT'S EVERYBODY'S WAR!! *punches Strel*
17. I'm not climbing on and I'm not really attacking you, at least that's not my intention. I assume you are still referring to the restaurant thread, which I am not. I simply included you because you seem to have a much different take on things than Jamie, who was also LE. I'm not trying to jump on the argument train in this one. I just was simply stating my opinion and included you in my post because you seem to be nearer Guy's thought process than say mine or Jamie's.
18. BS. I've done sim training and I've won and "lost", got hit in the shoulder. The thing people like you and Dave seem to not think about is the will to act. Lots of criminals draw guns simply to intimidate and hope for a compliant victim. When you turn that around on them and suddenly their victim becomes the aggressor it changes the game. If you are talking about a Wild West duel where we stand at 20 paces your gun is drawn and sighted and I have to draw mine and shoot you, I'll say you've won if you can shoot worth a damn. Now if we are close quarters...you might get me, you might not. Only one way to really ever know.
