I found this out this morning right after I got up. Needless to say my day has been a little gloomy. He'll be missed.

I'm not really surprised at this. The schools have been rapidly declining for some time now. I know just what I have seen since I got out in '03 has been really sad. My high school had a low dropout rate and most of those that did leave got their GEDs within a year. I fear there is going to be a large gap here before long in what jobs require and what the majority of the population can do.

Reading the comments on that story make my head hurt. I understand now why people think conservatives and gun owners are nuts. Most of them are. The guy who said a first responder could choose not to save him, what an ass. I think we need to come up with a no help list. Like the do not call list, but this way instead of being bothered by the firefighters, police, paramedics, and military you can do whatever the hell you want and then lay there in the street and die of a heart attack, because remember now kids, you can do it on your own! What a pile of $*#@

I agree with that Rabbi. My problem is when people who don't know the whole story or know a guy who's cousin ate pizza with a guy who says a cop treated him poorly, then start bashing ALL cops. There are bad apples everywhere, granted a bad apple in law enforcement is a bad apple with a ton of power. I just wish people here would take a second to consider things before they post. There are a lot of "monday morning quarterbacks" on the internet and it seems like TGO has a higher than normal rate of them when it comes to what they think they know about policing. I also think this is why some officers have mixed feeling about concealed carry. They have come across one to many people with the "Us vs. Them" attitude. That seems to be the problem on both sides of the fence.

Sounds like that's gonna be a sweet shooter!

I remember watching Crank with Jason Statham, and all things wrong with that movie aside, he points an XD at a guy threatening to shoot him. The problem was the cocking indicator on the back wasn't out. Kinda like the hammer down on a single action, not gonna do much with that.

I love my Taurus .38 snubbie, but I normally carry a 1911. I am more accurate with the 1911 and can clear any clearable malfunction quickly enough to not worry about it to much. That being said, just like in the article, there are many times where I stick the snubbie in my pocket and roll out the door. Like today because my left hand is jacked up and I'm not clearing anything!
