  1. Oh my lol That's good stuff right there. If a certain person who is not quicker than me was here (sorry couldn't resist) I know he'd love that picture.
  2. And the thread takes a startling turn! Tungsten the Tampon Warrior!
  3. Well 'scuse me. I think someone telling her what happened to them personally was more powerful, then *adjusts glasses* "Statistics show that statistics are statistics 100 % of the time" Is that real or photoshopped? I'd take her shootin'
  4. OH MY GOD! I drooled a little.
  5. Hey Piney, how do you like the jit holsters?
  6. Actually my fiancee' and I both noticed that. We didn't care she was crying. We're hard like that.
  7. A holster! j/k usually a Galco Side Snap Scabbard for the 1911
  8. It is indeed nice when people can have pleasant debates.
  9. Rick, I must say you are one of, if not the most pleasant man I've ever met on the internet!
  10. I think that was pretty well backed up when she met the guy who had to shoot the guy trying to kill him and his family in their own kitchen.
  11. Pretty good show. The girl was a little whiny and they did really go opposite ends of the spectrum, but I think that's what made it interesting. The guy was really sensible and well versed in what he was talking about.
  12. Glad I'm not the only one. If I didn't work at a gunshop I'd have gone nuts when I messed mine up lol
  13. A very sensible explanation and example. I have strong feelings about them , as do alot of other permit holders and law enforcement, because of the attitude I see in every person I have personally dealt with that utilizes one. I think the cons far outweigh the pros of having one. It is also ammo for a lawyer to use against you potentially. Example: You are entering a store as someone is robbing it. You see a man with a gun to a clerk's head. You fire two shots and the bad guy is killed. Hero right? Except that the overzealous prosecutor assigned to your case uses your CWP badge as his only leverage. He tells a jury that you took the law into your own hands because you wanted to play cop and that you could have fled, there was no reason for you to shoot. Far fetched? Probably, but the reality of it is there. I just see them as trivial and useless. I understand the argument for having it when you OC to avoid hassle, but it still just seems unnecessary.
  14. I agree with that. The problem there is the lawsuit generation that has come to be. It's not the act itself, it's the people that do dumb stuff and then see dollar signs because "someone should have stopped us!"
  15. It isn't a form of ID though. Nobody issues it to you. It's a choice made by people who either want to OC, but don't want the risks of doing it without a badge. The reason it can be construed as impersonating an officer is because 99.9% of people that have one want to be seen as a cop. Police officers are the only people who wear a gun and badge in that manner generally. If people want to OC that's fine by me, I personally have no problem with it, but that badge serves not one single useful purpose. It makes the wearer look like a wannabe and as said before it makes it seem like we need special ID to carry a gun that way. Why not just hang your permit from your neck. Rick, I wasn't trying to jump down your throat. I was using "you" in a general sense. I apologize for the miscommunication.
  16. Dem is nice...
  17. There will be a movie based on the book coming out soon with Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn from Lord of the Rings) playing the father. My buddy and I were having a lengthy discussion about zombies/post-apocalyptic warfare, etc. at work at the range the other night. He stated that he would just sit at the end of the counter with an M4 resting on his legs smoking a cigarette waiting for "them". I started laughing because I just kinda pictured my shaggy little Iraq-vet friend waiting for the zombies while some 40's sounding music plays over the scene. Kinda like this... [ame] [/ame]and for sake of what to prep with...
  18. That really sucks man. Hope he gets better.
  19. I don't think it's necessarily in the best taste, but I don't see a whole lot of harm in it. Just silly kids. Kinda like toilet papering a house. Bad taste? Perhaps, but no more trouble then getting out the hose or waiting on the rain while muttering "those damn kids."
  20. There some things you cannot unsee...
  21. That makes no sense. He's not operating under his HCP at that point anyway. If he is he is in violation of law. If he is a state certified armed security officer he should have a badge stating Security/ Private Protection Officer/ Armed Security Officer, etc. He can even have a custom badge made with the TN seal. I have no problem with those. That is your job and having a badge stating you are Security is fine, but an CWP badge is just silly.
  22. I think it was a right of passage for every child to break something with a "ninja" type weapon. My mother decided to let me take a weapons class in Tae-Kwan-Do when I was in my teens. Nunchuks are hell on household items.
